[0:02] From ABC, this is World News Saturday.
[0:07] Here's Jed Rose. Good evening. President
[0:10] Clinton summoned his national security
[0:11] team back to the White House today to
[0:13] talk about Bosnia after Secretary of
[0:15] State Warren Christopher returned from
[0:17] his trip overseas with discouraging
[0:19] results. Frustrated by the allies
[0:21] reluctance to step up military action
[0:23] there, the president decided to turn his
[0:25] efforts in a new direction. White House
[0:27] correspondent Kathleen Dilleski reports.
[0:30] >> Summoned to the White House after his
[0:32] trip to lobby the allies, the Secretary
[0:34] of State brought some good news and some
[0:36] bad news. He told the president and top
[0:38] advisers that the Europeans are willing
[0:41] to take stronger action against the

[0:58] allies will look for ways to monitor
[1:00] this border between Serbia and Bosnia.
[1:02] The Serbian President Sloanovich has
[1:05] pledged to cut off military supplies
[1:07] flowing to his Serbian allies in Bosnia,
[1:10] but the US wants to see if he's serious.
[1:12] One US option is to use UN peacekeepers
[1:15] to monitor the border, but European
[1:17] allies who have provided the troops in
[1:18] Bosnia want the US to join in such a
[1:21] dangerous mission. One senator just
[1:23] backed from the Balkans says the
[1:25] Europeans are stalling.
[1:26] >> This is a debating ploy by Europeans.
[1:29] Europe is going
