[0:04] From ABC [music] News, World News

[0:07] Sunday. From New York, here's Diane

[0:10] Sawyer. Good evening. Saddam Hussein

[0:12] decided to make his presence felt today

[0:14] as evidenced in two major stories from

[0:16] the Gulf tonight. In Saudi Arabia, in

[0:19] the capital of Riyadh and in the eastern

[0:21] city of Dhahran, it has been a night of

[0:23] sirens and racing to the air raid

[0:25] shelters. Iraq has fired off three Scud

[0:28] missiles at Dhahran. US interceptor

[0:30] missiles streaked into the sky to shoot

[1:20] huddled with gas masks and chemical

[1:24] the Patriots have had to face so far.

[1:27] Earlier in the day, at the Kuwaiti

[1:28] border, Marine Harrier jets dropped

[1:30] flares to confuse surface-to-air

[1:32] missiles and then moved in to bomb Iraqi

[1:35] positions.

[1:38] Coalition aircraft have flown over 7,000

[1:41] sorties in 72 hours. Despite hazy
