[0:00] well it's one of my biggest frustrations
[0:01] with a lot of Founders I meet with and
[0:03] to be an entrepreneur to start something
[0:06] from nothing whether in a big company or
[0:07] whether you're doing it on your own
[0:09] there's a bit of a craziness to it what
[0:10] drives us to do it is having this Vision
[0:13] in our Mind's Eye this passion for some
[0:16] future State some future solution
[0:19] something that we feel needs to exist
[0:21] and what I've seen all too often is that
[0:24] passion gets people to take that risk to
[0:27] declare some amazing vision and then
[0:31] build a team and convince them to join
[0:33] you and then set off on years of work
[0:36] and then when you actually put something
[0:37] in a market it doesn't resonate and
[0:39] you're like wow we built an amazing
[0:42] product like what's going on here and
[0:45] it's just 30° off product Market fit
[0:47] like there's just something wrong and
[0:49] usually in my experience now that tracks
[0:52] back to a lack of empathy for the
[0:56] customer that they were ultimately
[0:57] serving my guest today is Scott bski
[1:01] adobe's Chief strategy officer and
[1:03] Executive Vice President of design and
[1:06] emerging products Scott has advised
[1:09] hundreds of startups and writes a
[1:11] popular newsletter called implications I
[1:14] spoke to him about why the talent stack
[1:16] is collapsing and what you can do about
[1:19] it how to improve the first mile
[1:21] experience for your product and the 4p
[1:25] framework for building generative AI
[1:28] products Scott is a leader who obsesses
[1:31] about customer empathy and keeping High
[1:34] performing teams as small as possible if
