Language: English (original, YouTube automatic captions)

[0:04] good morning and welcome to Wednesday's

[0:07] in the word once again and we're excited

[0:09] that you've tuned in today for our next

[0:12] session when it comes to knowing where

[0:14] your Bible comes from and why we hear a

[0:17] Bible Baptist Church used a King James

[0:19] Version of the Bible and today we're

[0:21] going to talk about something that's

[0:23] important we mentioned it last week when

[0:26] we dealt with the source of your Bible

[0:28] and we were able to say that we could

[0:30] trace all the sources back for a King

[0:32] James Bible but then we talked about

[0:35] that the Bible was translated from the

[0:38] original language into the English

[0:41] language so first Peter chapter 1 I'd

[0:44] like to read you a few verses as we get

[0:46] started this morning verse number 22

[0:48] says this seeing you have purified your

[0:51] souls and obeying the truth through the

[0:53] spirit unto unfeigned love of the

[0:56] Brethren see that you love one another

[0:58] with a pure heart fervently being born

[1:01] again not of corruptible seed but of

[1:03] incorruptible by the Word of God which

[1:07] liveth and abideth forever for all flesh

[1:10] is grass and all the glory of man as the

[1:13] flower of grass the grass withereth and

[1:15] the flower thereof falleth away but the

[1:18] word of the Lord endureth forever and is

[1:22] this is the word which by the gospel is

[1:25] preached unto you we have the great

[1:29] opportunity to hold in our hands the

[1:31] King James Version of the Bible

[1:33] it's the preserved Word of God for the

[1:36] english-speaking people we talked about

[1:38] last week knowing the source of what

[1:41] your Bible translation comes from the

[1:44] word translation is that has this

[1:47] meaning it's the act of rendering

[1:49] something into another language to

[1:51] render from one form state or place up

[1:54] to another from Webster's 1828

[1:57] dictionary there now you'll notice that

[1:59] in the description below this video

[2:02] there's a link to our church website

[2:04] that has note pages for each of these

[2:06] sessions the word translate or a form of

[2:09] that word is found 3 times in the Bible

[2:12] these events they reveal four laws

[2:15] concerning the matter of translation

[2:18] here's four important things to keep in

[2:19] mind number one translation it involves

[2:22] human involvement the Bible didn't just

[2:25] magically get written there's human

[2:28] effort involved human involvement

[2:29] secondly God oversees and operates

[2:33] concerning the translation now I failed

[2:36] to mention to you this week's notes are

[2:39] fill in the blank so I'd recommend to

[2:41] download those and go along with the

[2:43] video and fill in the blanks but God

[2:46] oversees and operates concerning the

[2:48] translation number three the

[2:50] translations set up a standard by which

[2:54] all others are judged at number four

[2:57] once translated the translation is for

[3:00] all time

[3:02] so once something is translated and

[3:04] translated for all time so let me give

[3:07] you one biblical reference to the word

[3:09] translate its found in 2nd Samuel

[3:11] chapter 3 verses 9 and 10 we're not

[3:14] going to read those verses this morning

[3:16] but I encourage you to grab your Bible

[3:18] that translation is in the regard to the

[3:21] Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of

[3:23] Israel there was a translation that

[3:25] happened number one thing of those four

[3:28] rules that we mentioned human

[3:30] involvement you'll find it in 1st Samuel

[3:32] chapter 15 verse number 28 that's when

[3:36] God changed the kingdom from Saul to

[3:40] David and that translation involves

[3:43] human involvement secondly God rent the

[3:46] kingdom and gave it to another he rent

[3:50] the kingdom and gave it to another

[3:51] number three David's Kingdom became the

[3:54] standard all the kingdoms were compared

[3:58] to David all the United Kingdom's till

[4:00] the kingdoms were divided now you'll

[4:02] find that in Ezekiel 37 Ezekiel 34 and

[4:06] Jeremiah 30 it talks about these things

[4:09] fourthly David became the king and all

[4:12] the Jews will return and David will rule

[4:15] again as a vice regent with Jesus that's

[4:18] found in verse number 25 so I encourage

[4:21] you to read those verses but that's one

[4:24] reference in the Bible to the word

[4:26] translate in Colossians chapter number

[4:29] one there's another reference

[4:31] the word translated translated so in

[4:35] Colossians chapter number one the Bible

[4:37] says this in verse number 12 and 13

[4:40] giving thanks unto the father which hath

[4:42] made us to be partakers of the

[4:44] inheritance of saints who had delivered

[4:46] us from the power of darkness and hath

[4:48] translated us into the kingdom of his

[4:52] dear son this translation is regarded in

[4:56] salvation number 1 human involvement

[4:58] happens once again in Romans 10 13

[5:01] through 17 it talks about what we're

[5:05] going to do with Christ you and I have

[5:07] the opportunity as it reminds us that

[5:10] you and I can choose for whosoever shall

[5:13] call upon the name of the Lord shall be

[5:14] saved

[5:15] there's a choice involved with salvation

[5:17] we don't believe as we rated this past

[5:20] Sunday in our church that you are

[5:23] elected and you don't have a choice no

[5:26] my friend you're chosen that God loves

[5:28] you but he offers salvation to all

[5:30] mankind so there's human involvement

[5:32] secondly salvation is of the Lord faith

[5:35] is a gift of God only God can save you

[5:38] you can't save yourself only God can

[5:41] save you in John chapter 1 verses 12

[5:44] through 13 it talks about being born of

[5:47] God being born of God not my generation

[5:50] not by Reformation and not by

[5:53] confirmation but being born of God being

[5:56] saved by the blood of Jesus Christ

[6:00] only by regeneration regeneration the

[6:05] operation of God that makes a

[6:07] transformation in 2nd Timothy 2:5 verse

[6:10] B says there's only one mediator between

[6:13] God and man and we know the rest of that

[6:16] it's the man Christ Jesus

[6:18] now fourthly as we mentioned salvation

[6:21] is for all time you are forever saved

[6:24] you have eternal life that's the second

[6:28] reference to translated in the Bible

[6:31] another one's found in the book of

[6:33] Hebrews chapter 11 verse number 5 this

[6:37] is in regard to the rapture it involves

[6:40] human involvement Enoch walked with God

[6:42] and he was not for God took him

[6:44] God oversaw and God operating God took

[6:47] him secondly and put him into heaven in

[6:49] Jude 14 to 15 Enoch was only seven

[6:53] descendants from Adam but knew of the

[6:56] return of the Lord even before the first

[6:59] coming of the Lord God told him some

[7:01] things fourthly he was translated we

[7:05] also and shows - shall we ever be with

[7:08] the Lord first Thessalonians 4:13

[7:11] through 18 now when it comes to

[7:13] translations in 1st Peter chapter 1

[7:16] verse number 23 we mentioned this being

[7:19] born again not of corruptible seed but

[7:22] of incorruptible by the Word of God

[7:24] which liveth and abideth forever this

[7:27] translation is in regards to Scripture

[7:30] born again of incorruptible seed the

[7:33] Word of God that liveth and abideth

[7:34] forever human involvement the Bible the

[7:39] Word of God had human involvement in

[7:42] order for us to have the translation of

[7:44] the King James Bible humans were

[7:47] involved secondly God oversees and he

[7:50] operates in Psalms 12:6 2:7 it says that

[7:54] he preserved his word for us how pure is

[7:57] pure 100% pure his word and God will

[8:02] keep it it is kept without air by God so

[8:06] human involvement and then God oversees

[8:09] and operates how it happens second

[8:11] Timothy 3:14 through 17 tells us some

[8:15] interesting truth let me turn there so I

[8:17] can read it to you this morning 2nd

[8:20] Timothy 3:14 through 17 the Bible says

[8:24] this but continue thou in the things

[8:26] which thou has learned knowing of whom

[8:28] thou hast learned them and that from a

[8:30] child thou hast known the Holy

[8:32] Scriptures which are able to make these

[8:34] wise unto salvation through faith which

[8:37] is in Christ Jesus all Scripture is

[8:40] given by inspiration of God and is

[8:43] profitable for doctrine for reproof for

[8:46] correction for instruction in

[8:48] righteousness that the man of God may be

[8:50] perfect throughly furnished unto all

[8:53] good works

[8:54] human involvement was involved God

[8:57] over-seasoned operates but jesus never

[9:00] questioned the translation of scripture

[9:03] the Greek Hebrew and Aramaic the men

[9:05] that translated the King James Version

[9:07] went from Hebrew Aramaic and Greek to

[9:11] English and revealed to us at least four

[9:14] thoughts here's the four thoughts that

[9:17] are important to keep in mind letter a

[9:19] superior texts were used they didn't use

[9:23] the ones that were found in the trash

[9:24] heap at Alexandria they used the correct

[9:28] text secondly superior translators were

[9:32] used those men that were involved in the

[9:34] process were highly educated and they

[9:36] knew what they were doing to make a

[9:38] translation superior techniques were

[9:42] used they did it very carefully and with

[9:45] the counsel of men in order to help

[9:47] confirm that they were being led by God

[9:50] and that they were doing it correctly

[9:52] superior theology was revealed the Bible

[9:56] tells us in Matthew 24 verse 35 at the

[9:59] end of that my words shall not pass away

[10:02] knowing the Bible has been translated

[10:05] for us there's some biblical laws of

[10:08] translation that we've talked about when

[10:11] you and I open up the Word of God we

[10:14] have the Word of God here in Bible

[10:18] Baptist Church we talk about we have a

[10:20] Bible that's inspired and it's preserved

[10:24] we believe that God inspired His Word

[10:27] and then he preserved it for us in our

[10:31] language in the English language through

[10:34] the King James Bible so when you open up

[10:37] your Bible it's been preserved for all

[10:39] those generations it's been preserved

[10:42] for you and I today the holy men of God

[10:46] the Bible says spake as they were moved

[10:48] by the Holy Ghost

[10:49] as God directed them to write they begin

[10:53] to write down the very words here at

[10:55] Bible Baptist Church we believe in the

[10:58] verbal plenary inspiration of Scripture

[11:01] the very words the verbal the planaria

[11:04] the very thoughts the very words and the

[11:06] very thoughts of Scripture

[11:08] now today I hope

[11:10] come to the realization that we have the

[11:14] Word of God in our hands and the laws of

[11:17] the translator that involves human

[11:20] involvement if someone ever tells you

[11:22] well men were involved so it can't be

[11:24] pure well that would be if it was only

[11:27] mankind but there's another point of the

[11:30] translation laws we mentioned is that

[11:32] God oversees and he operates concerning

[11:36] just as he did with David's Kingdom just

[11:38] as he does with salvation dust as he

[11:41] will with the rapture and just as he

[11:43] does when he came to preserving his word

[11:46] for us it is all God's work that is done

[11:49] God oversees it and God operates it and

[11:53] so it's God that brings it about and

[11:55] because he's involved it's a pure

[11:58] product the translation sets up a

[12:00] standard by which all others are judged

[12:02] because of the translation of the Word

[12:05] of God that we have in our hands we've

[12:08] got a standard that's set for all others

[12:11] to be judged by and once it's translated

[12:14] it's translated for all times there's

[12:16] not a need now I know some would say

[12:18] well pastor it's a little bit harder to

[12:21] read and we'll talk about that the next

[12:23] time we'll actually talk about the the

[12:26] reading scales and give you evidence of

[12:30] what they believe the King James Bible

[12:33] is written on what academic level so I

[12:35] encourage it tune in next week to find

[12:38] out some more about the Bible and the

[12:41] language of it but I'm so excited today

[12:43] to share with you you hold in your hand

[12:46] the Word of God no doubt about it

[12:48] it's been preserved throughout time yes

[12:51] there was a period of time where mankind

[12:54] tried to get rid of it try to get rid of

[12:57] the word of God but the Word of God

[12:59] abideth forever so today thanks for

[13:03] tuning into the word of encouragement

[13:04] have a wonderful day and we hope to see

[13:07] you in church tonight here at Bible

[13:10] Baptist Church excited about what God's

[13:12] doing for you and hopefully you know

[13:14] that God's Word is in your hands

[13:27] you
