[0:07] A deadly fire in a tunnel in the Alps

[0:09] forces dozens of drivers to run for

[0:12] safety. And deep in the Atlantic, a

[0:14] missing coffin and new questions about

[0:17] President Kennedy's assassination.

[0:25] From ABC,

[0:28] this is World News Tonight.

[0:31] Good evening. I'm Elizabeth Vargas. On

[0:33] this Memorial Day weekend, a nationwide

[0:36] campaign to make US highway safer for

[0:38] children. An estimated 25,000 people

[1:21] takes the issue so seriously. It

[1:24] reported this week that 41,000 people

[1:27] were killed on American highways last

[1:29] year and 62% of those who died were not

[1:32] wearing seat belts. It's borderline

[1:35] child neglect if you don't have your

[1:36] child buckled up. Joe Hill is a safety

[1:38] officer in Fairfax County, Virginia.

[1:41] This right here is a prime example of of

[1:42] a citizen not wearing their seatelt and

[1:44] what can occur. Uh no seat belt on. You
