[0:05] we're here again trying to give this out

[0:07] word of encouragement there and so

[0:10] looking forward to a great day today

[0:13] I wanted to challenge you from the Word

[0:15] of God if you watched our live video

[0:18] earlier we've started in Psalm 1 but

[0:20] ended up in Colossians 2 and we're going

[0:24] to be in Colossians chapter 2 this

[0:26] morning for our word of encouragement so

[0:29] go ahead and take your Bible turn there

[0:31] Colossians chapter number 2 go ahead

[0:33] I'll wait for you still waiting still

[0:38] waiting all right they are you there yet

[0:41] hopefully you're there Colossians

[0:43] chapter 2 verse number 7 the Bible says

[0:46] rooted and built up well rooted and

[0:50] built up in what let's go back to verse

[0:51] number 6 as you have therefore received

[0:54] Christ Jesus the Lord so walk ye in him

[0:58] rooted and built up in him stablished in

[1:02] the faith as you have been taught

[1:04] abounding therein with Thanksgiving

[1:08] beware lest any man spoil you through

[1:10] philosophy and vain deceit after the

[1:13] tradition of men after the rudiments of

[1:16] the world and not after Christ it's

[1:19] important for you and I to have a

[1:22] relationship with the Word of God and I

[1:25] hope and pray today that during this

[1:28] time with the extra time that you have

[1:30] you are spending time in the Word of God

[1:33] and reading more today than you have

[1:35] been over the last few weeks the Bible

[1:39] says that were to spend time in his word

[1:41] would be rooted in Christ in Psalms

[1:45] chapter number one the Bible says

[1:46] blessed is the man that walketh not in

[1:48] the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth

[1:51] in the way of sinners nor sitteth in the

[1:53] seat of the scornful it almost appears

[1:56] that in psalms chapter number one

[1:58] there's some social distancing that

[2:01] should happen between christians and the

[2:04] philosophies and the thinking of this

[2:06] world the Bible says blessed is that man

[2:09] who does it walk in that counsel who

[2:11] does

[2:11] sit in that seat who doesn't stand in

[2:13] the way it's encouraging to us to

[2:16] understand that the world's philosophies

[2:18] and the things of God do not mix

[2:20] together the God's plan for our lives

[2:23] are different than what the world's plan

[2:26] is and you'll notice in Psalm chapter

[2:28] number 1 verse number 2 it says but his

[2:31] delight is in the law of the Lord and in

[2:35] his law doth he meditate day and 9 if

[2:38] your delights not in the law of the Lord

[2:41] what's it in

[2:42] what are you delighting in what brings

[2:45] your encouragement well I believe in our

[2:47] lives as Christians it is our delight is

[2:50] in the law of the Lord and in his law

[2:53] doth we meditate day and night and I

[2:57] hope and pray you're doing that that

[2:59] you're opening up your Bible and

[3:00] spending time in His Word verse number

[3:03] three in Psalms chapter number one talks

[3:05] about what happens to them he shall be

[3:08] like a tree planted by the rivers of

[3:11] water that bringeth forth his fruit in

[3:12] his season his leaf shall not also

[3:14] wither and whatsoever he doeth shall

[3:16] prosper

[3:17] in your Christian life the more time you

[3:20] spend in the Word of God the deeper your

[3:22] roots get that tree that's planted by

[3:25] the rivers of water has strong roots

[3:27] because there's a water source there the

[3:29] roots of a tree go down in the ground

[3:31] searching for water in our life we ought

[3:34] to be searching for the water of his

[3:36] word we ought to be driving our roots

[3:39] into the ground it says in Colossians

[3:41] chapter 2 our text today rooted and

[3:43] built up in him the deeper your roots go

[3:47] the more you can be built up in Christ

[3:49] it's important we live here in Oklahoma

[3:52] and one of the things we were told we

[3:54] were first looking for a home here in

[3:56] Oklahoma is to look for a house that has

[3:59] large trees in the area because

[4:02] tornadoes seem to take the same path of

[4:05] the area all the time in fact just

[4:07] outside of El Reno is one of the largest

[4:09] tornadoes ever recorded and that path

[4:12] that goes for there but there have been

[4:13] a lot of tornadoes come down that same

[4:16] corridor path and it's amazing to me

[4:19] when you stop and think about that but

[4:21] in our

[4:21] when we found a house and it was a house

[4:24] that had large trees around him we knew

[4:26] that the storms hadn't come

[4:28] but rooted and built up the deeper your

[4:30] roots go the more you can build your

[4:32] life upon the things of Christ

[4:34] established in the faith it says

[4:36] established in the faith as you have

[4:38] been taught it's important to understand

[4:41] this truth that you cannot expect

[4:44] behavior from another believer if they

[4:47] have not been taught and it's important

[4:49] to be taught that's why Sunday morning

[4:51] Sunday night and Wednesday night you

[4:54] need to engage in the live stream you

[4:56] need to be watching that video but it's

[4:58] fully engaging in it we've encouraged

[5:00] our people we let me encourage you but

[5:03] if you're watching this video and you

[5:04] attend another church let me encourage

[5:06] you when you watch your church's

[5:07] livestream if there's songs that are

[5:09] being sung you ought to stand and sing

[5:11] the songs now I know sometimes they pick

[5:14] a hymn that you don't know and you don't

[5:16] know other words and you probably may

[5:17] not have a hymn book back of the house

[5:20] but maybe they can help you out and try

[5:22] to get the words on the screen for you

[5:24] or something else but we ought to stand

[5:26] and sing when the preacher says

[5:28] something that you ought to say men you

[5:29] ought to do that it'll be an

[5:31] encouragement to his heart later on but

[5:33] we're to be established in the faith as

[5:35] you have been taught abounding there

[5:37] with with Thanksgiving at this time you

[5:39] know you can get so frustrated you can

[5:43] go to the store to buy groceries and the

[5:45] things that you're looking for may not

[5:47] be available or you may be online

[5:49] grocery shopping and you find out the

[5:52] things that you ordered they didn't have

[5:54] available for you and you can get so

[5:56] frustrated oh they didn't have this I

[5:58] wanted this and they didn't have this I

[6:00] wanted this and they didn't have that

[6:01] but at least you had the money to go buy

[6:04] groceries at least you had the money

[6:07] that you could put an online order in

[6:08] there are some folks right now that

[6:11] didn't even have that option so I

[6:13] encourage it be thankful yes they may

[6:17] not have had the flavor that you wanted

[6:18] they may not have had the item on your

[6:20] grocery shopping list but at least you

[6:22] had the ability to do that the least you

[6:25] were able to get those things the Bible

[6:28] says in verse 8 beware lest any man

[6:30] spoil you through philosophy and vain

[6:32] deceit after the tradition of men after

[6:35] rudiments of the world and not after

[6:36] Christ when we are built up and rooted

[6:39] in Christ we understand what the world

[6:42] is saying and understand how to combat

[6:44] that so this morning we want to thank

[6:46] you for tuning in let me be an

[6:48] encouragement to you plant yourself in

[6:50] the Word of God root yourself in there

[6:53] it'll be a comfort and a help during

[6:55] this time of crisis let's have a word of

[6:57] Prayer

[6:57] Heavenly Father Lord we're so thankful

[6:59] that we can come to you today and spend

[7:01] time together around your word lord I

[7:04] pray that you bless every person

[7:05] watching this video

[7:06] comfort them and help them more we pray

[7:08] for those that are on the front lines

[7:10] those nurses and doctors and those that

[7:12] are trying to find a cure for this virus

[7:14] order prints you bless them guide them

[7:16] direct them what we're thankful for the

[7:18] truckers that are delivering product

[7:20] across this nation keep them safe on the

[7:22] roads Lord Lord we pray for those that

[7:25] have family members that are sick or

[7:27] those that are dealing with worry and

[7:30] fear Lord that you'd comfort them and

[7:32] help them thank you for all that you've

[7:34] done for us Lord bless us today in your

[7:36] name I pray amen and I encourage your

[7:39] Bible Baptist Church family watch the
