[0:01] revealed we're excited you've taken the

[0:03] time today to stop by

[0:05] we're in week number 49 revelation

[0:07] chapter number 19 and we're going to be

[0:10] in verses 7 through 10 today and we're

[0:13] looking at the marriage supper of the

[0:15] lamb

[0:16] and so we're excited to dive into that

[0:18] today so let's look if you would in your

[0:20] bibles revelation 19 verse number 7. the

[0:23] bible says let us be glad and rejoice

[0:25] and give honor to him for the marriage

[0:28] of the lamb has come and his wife hath

[0:30] made herself ready

[0:32] and to her was granted that she should

[0:34] be arrayed in fine linen clean and white

[0:37] for fine linen is the righteousness of

[0:39] saints and he sayeth unto me right

[0:42] blessed are they

[0:43] which are called unto the marriage

[0:45] supper of the lamb and he saith unto me

[0:47] these are the true sayings of god and i

[0:50] fell at his feet to worship him and he

[0:52] said unto me see thou do it not i am thy

[0:55] fellow servant and of thy brethren that

[0:58] have the testimony of jesus

[1:00] worship god for the testimony of jesus

[1:04] is the spirit of prophecy

[1:06] so the marriage of the lamb here in

[1:08] verse 7 there's that rejoicing for the

[1:11] marriage of the lamb has come

[1:13] and his

[1:15] wife

[1:16] not his bride but his wife hath made

[1:19] herself

[1:20] ready so we're going to dive in today

[1:23] now the marriage of the lamb there are

[1:26] at least seven different descriptions of

[1:28] the church and its relationship to the

[1:30] lord the number one reference that we're

[1:33] going to use is the shepherd and the

[1:35] sheep out of john chapter 10.

[1:38] second the vine and the branches out of

[1:40] john 15.

[1:42] the third the cornerstone and the

[1:44] building stones in ephesians chapter 2.

[1:47] the next is the high priest and the

[1:49] kingdom of priests in 1st peter chapter

[1:52] 2. the next is the head and the body in

[1:56] ephesians and corinthians

[1:58] the sixth is the last adam in the new

[2:00] creation in romans chapter number five

[2:03] the seventh is the bride and the

[2:05] bridegroom revelation 19 21

[2:09] and 22.

[2:11] now in order to fully understand this

[2:14] terminology of the bride and the

[2:16] bridegroom

[2:18] we cannot look at it from our western

[2:20] perspective it's a jewish perspective so

[2:23] the background of the jewish wedding

[2:25] will help us to understand

[2:28] or to grasp this truth here

[2:31] so the use of the word bride to

[2:33] represent the church has in mind the

[2:36] oriental pattern in which there were

[2:38] three major steps

[2:40] the first step the legal marriage the

[2:43] legal marriage was arranged by parents

[2:45] of both the bride and the bridegroom

[2:48] during the time when a dowry the value

[2:52] of the wife to was paid to her parents

[2:55] and the couple was formally married in a

[2:58] legal sense

[3:00] often these two had never even met each

[3:02] other but somehow these weddings often

[3:05] worked out better than ours do today

[3:08] secondly subsequent to the legal

[3:10] marriage the bridegroom would go to

[3:12] prepare his home for his bride in john

[3:16] 14 the bible says let not your heart be

[3:18] troubled you believe in god believe also

[3:20] in me in my father's house are many

[3:22] mansions if it were not so i would have

[3:24] told you in verse 3 i go to prepare a

[3:27] place

[3:28] for these so

[3:29] jesus being the bridegroom has gone to

[3:32] prepare a place now the bridegroom goes

[3:35] and would prepare this place it would be

[3:38] custom for him to go with his companions

[3:41] to the house of the bride and he would

[3:43] claim the bride for himself and he would

[3:46] take her back to his home

[3:49] thirdly would be the bridal possession

[3:51] which would be followed by the marriage

[3:53] feasts which often lasted for many days

[3:56] in john chapter 2 the marriage of cana

[3:58] lasted seven days

[4:00] but often times it lasts even longer

[4:02] than that

[4:03] so here's the picture of christ and the

[4:05] church as this relates to revelation

[4:08] it's a picture that truly gives us an

[4:10] understanding about our relationship to

[4:12] jesus christ and is coming again to the

[4:15] earth for instance

[4:17] it is evident that the legal marriage

[4:19] between us and the lord

[4:21] has already taken place

[4:24] it took place at the time of your

[4:25] conversion when you got saved

[4:28] the bride is now awaiting the time when

[4:30] the bridegroom will come and take us to

[4:32] his house that's part number two

[4:35] and the mansion is being prepared where

[4:37] the marriage of the lamb will take place

[4:39] john 14 1-3 the third part of marriage

[4:43] ceremony the feast or the supper will

[4:45] follow the marriage proper

[4:48] now there's one factor that needs to be

[4:50] made clear about the oriental wedding

[4:52] which is a bit strange to those of us

[4:54] who've grown up in the western culture

[4:57] in the oriental marriage the importance

[4:59] of the groom

[5:01] far outweighed the importance of the

[5:03] bride now in the western world that we

[5:06] live in it's all about the bride it's

[5:08] the bride's dress it's the bride's

[5:10] decisions it's the bride it's the

[5:11] brightest the bride but during that time

[5:13] the oriental time it was all about the

[5:15] groom

[5:17] in today's wedding the groom is he's

[5:19] like an added attraction he shows up and

[5:21] says yes i do and then that's all that

[5:24] it's about

[5:25] but in the

[5:26] oriental the jewish wedding the bride is

[5:30] secondary to the groom the groom is

[5:32] there because there can be no wedding

[5:34] without him it's important to understand

[5:37] that fact this is also true in

[5:38] revelation the bride must take second

[5:40] place to the blessed lamb of calvary who

[5:43] stands above all others in this great

[5:46] event

[5:47] so we're going to talk about the

[5:49] marriage ceremony parts and we're laying

[5:51] the groundwork here for our text

[5:54] there's a sacred wedding and there's a

[5:56] supper meal

[5:57] the sacred wedding is when the bride

[5:59] comes to the bride's house and take her

[6:01] back with him

[6:03] now we know that's going to happen for

[6:05] us in the rapture

[6:07] he's going to have an escort that is

[6:08] going to come and take his bride to his

[6:10] father's house

[6:12] this is the right way for the marriage

[6:13] ceremony to take place this is the

[6:16] rapture of the church

[6:17] when christ comes to take us to heaven

[6:20] this is the reality of the confirmation

[6:22] when we got saved and we will be

[6:25] more one with christ than we can ever

[6:28] imagine the bible describes this way and

[6:30] so shall we ever be with the lord

[6:32] now up unto this time our relationship

[6:35] to christ is a relationship of

[6:37] engagement but we haven't been married

[6:39] yet

[6:40] second corinthians chapter 11 verse 2

[6:42] says this for i am jealous over you with

[6:44] godly jealousy for i have espoused you

[6:47] to one husband that i may present you as

[6:50] a chaste virgin to christ

[6:53] that verse teaches us that we are

[6:54] engaged to christ so again that's second

[6:57] corinthians 11 verse number two

[7:00] the second feature that's going to

[7:02] happen after the rapture the church is

[7:04] taken to heaven and the rapture they'll

[7:06] be the judgment seat of christ first

[7:08] corinthians 3 verses 13 to 15 talks

[7:11] about that

[7:12] we must appear before the judgment seat

[7:14] of christ before the wedding takes place

[7:17] notice in verse number eight

[7:19] and to her was granted that she should

[7:21] be arrayed in fine linen clean and white

[7:23] for fine linen is the righteousness

[7:26] of saints

[7:28] now how is the righteousness of saints

[7:30] determined well at the bema judgment

[7:32] seat of god of christ we are judged by

[7:35] our

[7:36] things we have done for christ our

[7:38] righteousness is clothed in his

[7:41] righteousness

[7:42] as revealed by the judgments of god

[7:45] those things that are not of god are

[7:46] going to burn up and be destroyed

[7:49] in verse number seven it says that the

[7:52] wife hath made herself ready

[7:54] well how does she get ready now

[7:56] how did she present herself how she get

[7:58] ready it's in the judgment of god

[8:01] the linens that believers wear

[8:03] are the linens that are left after the

[8:05] fiery judgment the works of the saints

[8:07] will be tested

[8:09] before the marriage takes place

[8:13] so in verses seven and eight we've got

[8:15] the wedding the bride's decked out and

[8:17] her fine linen clean and white

[8:19] this represents purity

[8:22] we're made pure through christ's blood

[8:24] revelation 1 5 and revelation 7 14.

[8:28] there's the second advent verse 7 it

[8:30] says the lamb is come

[8:32] and so this is event that believers have

[8:35] anticipated all throughout the ages now

[8:38] not since revelation chapter 3 verse 22

[8:40] has the church been mentioned

[8:42] while the tribulation has been taking

[8:44] place on the earth the judgment of

[8:46] believers

[8:47] is taking place in heaven

[8:49] and now the church returns as the bride

[8:51] and here he is called his wife

[8:54] this indicates that the celebration in

[8:56] the upcoming marriage supper has been

[8:58] ongoing

[9:00] now

[9:01] who's at the wedding

[9:03] well we know the bridegroom's at the

[9:04] wedding that's the lamb

[9:06] the lamb of god there are over 700

[9:10] titles

[9:11] given to jesus christ throughout the

[9:13] bible

[9:14] but this is the one title that he's

[9:16] chosen to have

[9:17] on his wedding invitations

[9:19] it shows his great love when he died as

[9:22] a sacrifice for sins

[9:25] ephesians chapter number 5 and verse

[9:27] number 25

[9:29] has an important truth about the bride

[9:32] listen to what the bible says in

[9:34] ephesians 5 and verse number 25

[9:38] husbands love your wives even as christ

[9:40] also loved the church and gave himself

[9:43] for it

[9:45] so

[9:46] the church here is the bride of christ

[9:49] so the bridegroom the lamb he died for

[9:51] our sins

[9:53] the bride is the church

[9:55] now are you in the church

[9:58] well to be in the church you have to be

[9:59] saved and you have to be baptized

[10:02] this bride is not israel

[10:06] so the bride of christ is not israel

[10:08] israel is defined as the wife of jehovah

[10:11] so the bride of christ is not israel who

[10:14] is cast off

[10:16] the cast off wife of the father

[10:18] who'll be taken back to him one day

[10:20] by cry by the lord himself in hosea

[10:23] chapter 2 verses 1 to 23 it talks about

[10:26] that so we've got the bridegroom and

[10:28] we've got the bride who is the church

[10:32] now there's

[10:33] somebody else that says blessed are they

[10:35] which are called

[10:36] unto the marriage supper of the lamb so

[10:38] there's a they there

[10:41] any wedding has the bride and has the

[10:44] bridegroom but you've got to have

[10:46] somebody

[10:47] to witness the event

[10:49] and so there's guests that are there

[10:52] now the guests at the marriage supper of

[10:54] the lamb who are they who's at the table

[10:56] who's there

[10:58] well there's some guests that are there

[11:00] now these guests may include old

[11:02] testament saints

[11:04] in fact in john 3 29 if you take your

[11:07] bibles and turn there in john 3 29 john

[11:10] the baptist said something about this

[11:14] in john chapter number three verse

[11:15] number 29

[11:17] he says he that hath the bride is the

[11:19] bridegroom

[11:21] but the friend of the bridegroom which

[11:23] standeth and heareth him rejoiceth

[11:25] greatly because of the bridegroom's

[11:28] voice

[11:29] this my joy therefore is fulfilled

[11:33] in reading that verse you come to the

[11:35] understanding that john views himself as

[11:37] a friend of the bridegroom

[11:40] and so any believer who is also not part

[11:44] of the bride

[11:45] since the bride is the church any

[11:47] believer who's not part of the bride

[11:49] could also possibly be a guest

[11:51] tribulation saints will be guests all

[11:54] these serve as guests as also to the

[11:57] angels and the host of heaven so there's

[11:59] many guests there as well at the

[12:02] marriage supper of the lamb

[12:04] now the supper mill it seems evident

[12:06] that through the marriage

[12:08] though the marriage is taking place in

[12:09] heaven after the wedding in heaven the

[12:11] lord brings his wife back to earth for

[12:14] what we understand to be a a lengthy

[12:17] celebration of the wedding

[12:19] and what follows is an eternal honeymoon

[12:22] in which we rule and reign with christ

[12:24] and his kingdom so for a thousand years

[12:27] we rule and reign with christ during the

[12:29] millennial kingdom as his bride

[12:32] we're ruling and reigning with him

[12:35] you'll notice in our text it says that

[12:37] the marriage supper these are the true

[12:39] sayings of god in verse 10 and i fell at

[12:41] his

[12:42] feet to worship him this is john

[12:44] speaking

[12:45] john falls down to worship at the feet

[12:47] of the one who's showing him these

[12:49] things he says i am thy fellow servant

[12:51] and of thy brethren that have the

[12:53] testimony of jesus worship god

[12:56] for the testimony of jesus is the spirit

[12:58] of prophecy

[13:00] so the one who's showing them this and

[13:02] note revelation 22

[13:04] verses 8 and 9 also mentions this as

[13:07] well

[13:08] revelation 22

[13:10] is my bible pages to turn there today

[13:14] it's a good thing to have bible pages

[13:16] that you can turn

[13:17] revelation chapter number 22

[13:20] verses 8 and 9

[13:22] and i john saw these things and heard

[13:24] them and when i heard them and seen i

[13:26] fell down to worship before the feet of

[13:28] the angel which showed me these things

[13:31] then saith the unto me see thou do it

[13:33] not for i am thy fellow servant and of

[13:35] thy brethren the prophets and of them

[13:37] which keep the sayings of this book

[13:39] worship god

[13:41] so in response he

[13:44] the angel stops him and reasons with him

[13:46] and instructs him not to worship him

[13:48] but to worship god it also shows us that

[13:50] angels are not to be revered or to be

[13:53] worshiped and that the worship of angels

[13:55] is a false worship

[13:57] so the marriage supper of the lamb

[14:00] the bridegroom is the lamb jesus christ

[14:03] the bride is the church

[14:06] the guests are those that are saved

[14:09] believers of god

[14:12] that are not part of the church

[14:15] those are they that are at the marriage

[14:17] supper of the lamb and it's exciting to

[14:19] see

[14:20] what is going to happen one day so the

[14:23] next thing on god's prophetic calendar

[14:26] for the church is the rapture of the

[14:28] church the judgment seat of christ we

[14:31] call it the bema judgment and then the

[14:34] marriage supper of the lamb

[14:36] that'll all be happening in heaven

[14:39] and then christ will return in his

[14:40] second coming and we're going to talk

[14:42] about that next week when the heavens

[14:45] are open and john sees a white horse and

[14:48] he describes the one who sits on the

[14:50] white horse as faithful and true and

[14:53] we're looking forward to describing the

[14:55] second coming because all of the bibles

[14:59] from

[15:00] the prophecy standpoint is setting up

[15:03] for the second coming of christ it's the

[15:05] culmination it's the final hallelujah of

[15:09] what's going to happen when jesus christ

[15:11] returns to this earth and so we look

[15:14] forward to diving in next week

[15:16] so the marriage supper of the lamb the

[15:18] bride is cry the bridegroom is christ

[15:20] the bride is the church the guest at the

[15:23] wedding possibly old testament saints

[15:25] and other believers and tribulation

[15:28] saints and the angels and the heavenly

[15:30] host of heaven are all there to rejoice

[15:33] with the marriage supper of the lamb

[15:35] and i look forward to talking more about

[15:37] it in upcoming videos as well as we get

[15:39] into chapter 21 and 22 where it also

[15:42] talks about the bride in the bridegroom

[15:44] but

[15:45] for us to remember this

[15:47] he's gone to prepare a place for you

[15:50] and

[15:51] one day very soon

[15:53] in fact he may return before you get to
