[0:00] American planes attack an oil plant in
[0:02] order to stop the spill in the Persian
[0:04] Gulf. As a ground war seems more likely,
[0:07] US troops are warned by their commanders
[0:09] about what they face.
[0:10] >> Explosives in the human body don't get
[0:12] along.
[0:13] >> And this evening on Focus, pictures from
[0:16] the other side, scenes of Iraq.
[0:21] This is NBC Nightly News reported by
[0:24] Garrett Utley.
[0:27] Good evening. It has been called
[0:29] environmental terrorism, the deliberate

[1:04] business of destroying Kuwait while we
[1:06] are liberating Kuwait.
[1:08] >> He showed video of the burning offshore
[1:10] loading facility where the Iraqis began
[1:12] dumping the oil. The fire was a result
[1:15] of a battle between American planes and
[1:17] an Iraqi boat. Schwarzoff said the
[1:20] flames were actually beneficial, helping
[1:22] consume the spilled oil.
[1:25] Last night, US Air Force planes used
[1:28] smart bombs to destroy the complex of
[1:30] pipes pumping the oil out to sea.
[1:32] Schwarzoff said the strike didn't cut
[1:34] off the oil completely, but reduced the
