[0:01] Good morning. Again, we take you now

[0:03] live to Buckingham Palace where the

[0:05] Queen is about to speak.

[0:09] Since last Sunday's dreadful news, we

[0:12] have seen throughout Britain and around

[0:14] the world an overwhelming expression of

[0:18] sadness at Diana's

[0:20] death. We have all been trying in our

[0:23] different ways to cope.

[0:25] It is not easy to express a sense of

[0:27] loss since the initial shock is often

[0:30] succeeded by a mixture of other

[0:32] feelings, disbelief, incomprehension,

[0:36] anger, and concern for those who

[0:39] remain. We have all felt those emotions

[0:42] in these last few

[0:44] days. So what I say to you now as your

[0:47] queen and as a grandmother, I say from

[0:50] my heart.

[0:53] First, I want to pay tribute to Diana

[0:56] myself. She was an exceptional and

[0:58] gifted human being. In good times and

[1:02] bad, she never lost her capacity to

[1:05] smile and laugh, nor to inspire others

[1:08] with her warmth and

[1:10] kindness. I admired and respected her

[1:13] for her energy and commitment to others,

[1:16] and especially for her devotion to her

[1:18] two

[1:20] boys. This week at Belmoral, we have all

[1:23] been trying to help William and Harry

[1:25] come to terms with the devastating loss

[1:28] that they and the rest of us have

[1:31] suffered. No one who knew Diana will

[1:34] ever forget

[1:35] her. Millions of others who never met

[1:38] her but felt they knew her will remember

[1:41] her.

[1:43] I for one believe there are lessons to

[1:46] be drawn from her life and from the

[1:49] extraordinary and moving reaction to her

[1:52] death. I share in your determination to

[1:55] cherish her memory.

[1:59] This is also an opportunity for me on

[2:01] behalf of my family and especially

[2:04] Prince C
