[0:08] >> This is the CBS Evening News. Connie

[0:10] Chung reporting.

[0:13] Good evening. Intense negotiations

[0:15] continue tonight between Panama, the

[0:17] Vatican, and the US over the fate of

[0:19] General Manuel Noriega with his release

[0:22] appearing at times imminent. But Doug

[0:24] Tunnell reports that part of the problem

[0:26] is a serious conflict inside the new

[1:16] >> Panama's Attorney General announced

[1:18] today that he would file charges against

[1:20] Noriega within the next two days along

[1:24] Noriega over for trial here. The

[1:27] announcement is especially significant

[1:28] because the Vatican has said from the

[1:30] outset that legally it could only turn

[1:32] Noriega over to Panamanian, not US

[1:35] authorities. But there is a catch. While

[1:38] the Attorney General was b
