[0:17] part number three we're going to be in

[0:20] verse number eight today

[0:22] and again we're so glad you stopped by

[0:24] it's week 31

[0:25] of our revelation revealed series and so

[0:28] we are

[0:29] just flying right through this we're in

[0:31] chapter 14.

[0:33] so i want to encourage you we've got 31

[0:36] weeks

[0:37] of the revelation revealed series on

[0:39] revelation reveal

[0:41] but there's also a seven week series

[0:44] uh in our church services on our youtube

[0:47] on sunday night services

[0:49] dealing with the seven churches and so

[0:51] that's also on there

[0:53] so i guess technically we're in 31 weeks

[0:55] but there's really 38 videos we've

[0:57] already

[0:58] done and so we're in revelation chapter

[1:01] verse number eight this morning the

[1:03] bible says and there followed

[1:05] another angel saying babylon

[1:08] is fallen is fallen that great city

[1:12] because she made all nations drink of

[1:15] the wine

[1:16] of the wrath of her fornication so when

[1:19] you stop and consider

[1:20] this one verse you may be going what is

[1:23] the bible saying there

[1:25] and so here's this angel a messenger

[1:27] angel is flying about heaven now last

[1:29] week we talked about the everlasting

[1:31] gospel

[1:32] and the angel that's flying around

[1:34] declaring the gospel and the judgment of

[1:36] god

[1:37] chapter 14 is a parenthetical chapter so

[1:40] the events happening

[1:41] in chapter 14 with these visions from

[1:44] the angels

[1:45] are not necessarily in chronological

[1:47] order in fact we know

[1:49] that in chapter 14 verse 8 this

[1:52] angel that's talking here is later on

[1:55] and we know that because of chapter 18

[1:58] and chapter 19

[2:00] and the details that are in in chapter

[2:03] 18 and 19 and chapter 17

[2:05] have to deal with the mystery city

[2:07] babylon and so that's going to come

[2:09] later on and so here the messenger angel

[2:13] says babylon so when babylon's mentioned

[2:16] in the bible

[2:17] and especially in the book of revelation

[2:20] it means one of two things number one

[2:22] it's a literal city which would be

[2:24] reconstructed during the tribulation

[2:26] time

[2:27] and will become the center of worldwide

[2:30] economy

[2:31] in which the false prophet and all the

[2:32] workings of satan will be the center of

[2:34] operations

[2:36] now that city of babylon if it is

[2:40] representative of the literal city

[2:42] currently is in iraq they have found the

[2:45] ruins of that

[2:47] and have begun excavations but at this

[2:49] point in time i do not

[2:50] see any evidence that they are trying to

[2:53] rebuild the city of babylon they have

[2:55] just discovered part of the city

[2:58] secondly it could be it will also be a

[3:00] system of a religion that is associated

[3:02] with the city many have noted that rome

[3:05] adopted many of the traditions of

[3:08] ancient babylon

[3:09] which are part of the roman church today

[3:12] so the roman catholic church took

[3:13] in a lot of the things from babylon

[3:17] a lot of their traditional things

[3:20] babylon was a stronghold of religious

[3:22] idolatry and pride

[3:24] this babylon has been been figured to be

[3:27] the city of rome

[3:28] itself now it's interesting as

[3:31] you study the word of god and also

[3:35] others that have alternate versions of

[3:38] the bible they take theirs from a

[3:40] different text

[3:41] but even the roman catholic church and

[3:43] the catholic douay conferratory bible

[3:46] on this verse they have notes that

[3:48] states that babylon

[3:50] was a synonym for rome so in the early

[3:53] version

[3:54] of the catholic bible now they did

[3:57] revise their bible

[3:58] in 1970 to the new american

[4:02] bible and then they revised it again

[4:05] to the revised new american bible in

[4:07] 1986

[4:09] so i had the opportunity to look up the

[4:12] footnote that they have listed here in

[4:14] revelation 14

[4:16] 8 and the revised new american bible

[4:18] which is the approved bible by the

[4:20] catholic bishops

[4:21] for the united states of america and for

[4:23] the philippines

[4:25] it's their version that they want

[4:26] everyone to read in the catholic church

[4:30] this is the bible they want to read it

[4:32] states this in the footnote

[4:33] this verse anticipates the lengthy

[4:36] dirge over babylon and in their bible

[4:40] there's quotes that says rome in

[4:43] revelation 18

[4:44] 1 through 19 4. and we're going to talk

[4:47] about it more

[4:48] in upcoming videos in chapter 17 chapter

[4:51] 18

[4:51] and in the conclusion in chapter 19

[4:54] about what all this details but

[4:56] isn't it sad that the roman catholic

[4:58] church in their very own bible

[5:00] give a footnote that their religion

[5:04] is going to be brought under judgment of

[5:06] god and the wrath

[5:08] of god isn't that interesting to think

[5:10] about

[5:11] in fact in the chapter 17 18 and 19 the

[5:14] roman catholic church

[5:15] will be brought under judgment for the

[5:17] things that they have done it's amazing

[5:19] to see

[5:20] so the ruin here in chapter 8 it

[5:23] announces that babylon

[5:25] is fallen is fallen it says fallen twice

[5:29] this is the final overthrow of the false

[5:32] and seductive religious system of the

[5:34] end times

[5:36] this will be described in more to detail

[5:38] in the studies of chapter 17

[5:39] and 18 but the first city of babylon was

[5:42] founded by a man named nimrod

[5:45] nimrod was a man who defied god you can

[5:48] read more about nimrod in genesis

[5:49] chapter 10

[5:50] verses 8 through 10 and genesis 11

[5:53] verses 1

[5:54] through 9. the prophet said babylon

[5:58] is fallen is fallen now revelation 18

[6:02] 2 if you have your bibles you can turn

[6:05] there this is what it says

[6:07] and he cried mightily with a strong

[6:09] voice speaking of this angel here

[6:12] saying babylon the greatest fallen is

[6:15] fallen has become the habitation of

[6:17] devils and the hold of every foul spirit

[6:20] and a cage of every unclean and hateful

[6:23] bird

[6:24] so it's prophesied now here it says

[6:27] that is fallen is fallen like it's

[6:30] already happened

[6:31] so here in chapter 14 verse 8 we have

[6:35] an announcement of the fulfillment of

[6:38] chapter 17

[6:39] and 18. and so this here is

[6:43] a after the fall

[6:46] after that effect so this here is not

[6:48] chronological

[6:50] it's a after the fact it's announcing

[6:52] what's going to happen

[6:54] and it's already doomed though as it was

[6:56] finished

[6:57] so babylon is going to be stored the

[6:59] religious system

[7:00] that takes place now it ought to be

[7:02] something interesting you and i know

[7:03] that the bible teaches

[7:05] in a pre-tribulational rapture of the

[7:07] saved of god

[7:09] so if the saved of god are gone that

[7:12] would mean

[7:13] that the religious system of the roman

[7:15] catholic church must have people

[7:17] involved in the system who truly do not

[7:19] believe in salvation

[7:21] in jesus christ in fact the catholic

[7:23] church even today begins to

[7:25] talk about the work of mary and how she

[7:28] has redemptive

[7:30] influence and that's not what the bible

[7:32] teaches but that's what they love to

[7:34] teach

[7:35] now here's the reason announced in verse

[7:37] 8 it was corrupt

[7:39] multitudes are won and intoxicated by

[7:41] this religion

[7:42] jeremiah 51 verses 7 8 said this babylon

[7:46] hath been a golden cup

[7:48] in the lord's hand that made all the

[7:50] earth drunken

[7:51] the nations have drunken of her wine

[7:53] therefore the nations are mad

[7:56] babylon has suddenly fallen and

[7:57] destroyed how for her

[7:59] take bong for her pain if so be she may

[8:03] be

[8:03] healed isaiah 21 9 says and behold here

[8:07] cometh a chariot of men

[8:08] with a couple of horsemen and he

[8:10] answered and said babylon has fallen is

[8:13] fallen

[8:13] and all the graven images of her gods he

[8:16] hath broken

[8:17] unto the ground unfortunately the

[8:20] religious

[8:21] system makes unholy alliances with

[8:24] political systems and through

[8:26] them they seduce the world christians

[8:29] need to take heed

[8:30] that not all churches

[8:33] are of god in fact in first john 4 1 it

[8:37] says beloved

[8:38] believe not every spirit but try the

[8:41] spirits

[8:42] whether they are of god because many

[8:44] false prophets are gone out into the

[8:46] world

[8:47] so the bible prophesies that the babylon

[8:51] rome will be destroyed the religious

[8:54] and the city itself will be destroyed

[8:58] during the great tribulation period

[9:00] they'll be judged for their sin the

[9:02] blood of the saints of prophets we'll

[9:04] talk more about that in chapter 17

[9:06] 18 and part of chapter 19 the

[9:09] destruction that comes and it's

[9:10] it's pretty sad but i find it

[9:14] discouraging and saddening to the heart

[9:18] that a church would put out a version of

[9:21] the bible

[9:23] not i could call it a perversion of the

[9:25] bible because they add and take away

[9:27] things

[9:28] from the word of god and god is not

[9:31] pleased when that is done

[9:33] but they've added to that perversion but

[9:35] they leave a note in there that their

[9:37] very own church

[9:39] the center vatican city in rome their

[9:42] very own

[9:43] structural church is going to be judged

[9:46] by god

[9:48] it's sad because they don't teach that

[9:51] they don't talk about that they don't

[9:54] instruct others of that

[9:57] and here we are today realizing this

[10:00] jesus is coming very soon and so if you

[10:03] have

[10:04] someone who is a friend of yours that

[10:07] does not know the lord jesus christ as

[10:08] savior

[10:09] share the gospel with them today

[10:12] in revelation 14 8 it is prophesied the

[10:15] fall of babylon

[10:17] in chapter 17 18 in the beginning of

[10:19] chapter 19 we know that the city of

[10:21] babylon

[10:22] is the city of rome the religious center

[10:24] during the tribulation period

[10:27] but my friend today let us take heart

[10:31] god is on the throne the rapture of the

[10:33] church is around the corner it could

[10:34] happen at any moment

[10:36] but the end for all religious systems

[10:39] who go against

[10:41] god they will be judged and in the end
