[23:18] remembered that I had this and I've been

[23:19] wanting to use it and God laid it on my

[23:21] heart so um if we could start off with

[23:23] some prayer uh let's pray dear heavenly

[23:26] father thank you for this day thank you

[23:27] that we can all gather here and learn

[23:29] about you I pray that you speak through

[23:31] me Lord and that I don't say anything

[23:32] that you wouldn't want me to say I pray

[23:35] that we have a good New Year's Eve Lord

[23:42] so this side a little bit I was given

[23:45] the option to have a lapel but I don't

[23:52] turn to Matthew chapter 10 I'm going to

[23:56] start off here the title of of the

[23:58] sermon tonight is material or Eternal

[24:02] and one of the best examples that I can

[24:05] that God laid upon my heart is with

[24:07] Judas so that's where we're going to

[24:09] start um Matthew chapter 10 verse one

[24:12] and when he had called unto him his 12

[24:14] disciples he gave them power against

[24:16] unclean spirits to cast them out and to

[24:19] heal all manner of sickness and all

[24:21] manner of disease now the names of the

[24:23] TW Apostles are these the first Simon

[24:26] who is called Peter and Andrew his

[24:29] brother James the son of Zebedee and

[24:31] John his brother Philip and Bartholomew

[24:34] Thomas and Matthew the Publican James

[24:37] the son of alfus and leas whose surname

[24:40] was thus Simon the Canaanite and Judas

[24:44] scariot who also betrayed him now I just

[24:47] want to look at that and then we're

[24:54] known for that's his legacy is as the

[24:56] betrayer and I haven't given given Judas

[24:58] a whole lot of thought before now aside

[25:04] but Judas along with all the other

[25:07] disciples he saw Jesus perform all these

[25:10] Miracles and he still betrayed Jesus but

[25:13] that's that's the Legacy that he left

[25:26] 14 26 verse4 14 and I'm going to read to

[25:29] 16 and then we'll jump over to 47 and 15

[25:35] 14-6 then one of the twel called Judas

[25:38] es scariot went unto the chief priests

[25:40] and said unto them what will ye give me

[25:43] and I will deliver him unto you and they

[25:46] covenanted with him for 30 pieces of

[25:48] silver and from that time he saw

[26:04] quick Buck he was looking to make some

[26:55] atheists know who Judas is because

[26:58] because he betrayed Jesus he was the

[26:59] reason that Jesus got killed so he

[27:03] betrayed him for 30 pieces of silver now

[27:06] 30 pieces some some Scholars say it

[27:08] could have been worth 120 days worth of

[27:11] wages While others say it could have

[27:13] been as little as 5 days worth the

[27:15] interesting thing is I've never really

[27:17] thought about specifically how much

[27:19] because it never really mattered if it

[27:22] was a million dollars in today's time or

[27:23] $5 it really didn't matter because no

[27:26] amount of money should have been enough

[27:28] to betray Jesus right

[27:31] now at least I have I've looked at Judas

[27:35] not given him a second thought and just

[27:36] said he betrayed Jesus you know this I

[27:39] would never have done that I would never

[27:40] have betrayed Jesus like that for money

[27:43] but I do it every day and I know that a

[27:46] lot of Christians do as well we sell out

[27:48] Jesus we sell out Jesus for material

[27:52] things and Jesus is eternal we need to

[27:55] be investing in the Eternal but whether

[27:58] it was whether the 30 pieces of silver

[28:01] was 120 days worth of wages or only five

[28:03] we sell out Jesus for a whole lot

[28:05] cheaper than that we sell them out every

[28:07] day when we decide to sleep in when we

[28:10] haven't prayed or had Bible time because

[28:13] we're tired well we just sold them out

[28:15] for that surely that that's less than 30

[28:17] pieces of silver when when we pick up

[28:19] our phone and we haven't had Bible time

[28:23] well we just sold them out for our phone

[28:25] even when we go up with friends and we

[28:27] haven't had time with God that week or

[28:30] even done visitation or anything of that

[28:32] sort well we just sold him out we just

[28:34] we basically told him you're not as

[28:37] important as this and that that's what

[28:40] Judas did Judas he betrayed God and in

[28:44] turn he said that you're not as

[28:47] important you're not as as important as

[28:50] these pieces of silver and we we we do

[28:52] that all the time and we need to invest

[28:56] in the eternal and not material things

[29:00] because in the end that's all that we

[29:02] have we can we can do all these material

[29:05] things and God God wants us to have fun

[29:07] and hang out with our friends and do all

[29:10] that stuff and have hobbies and such but

[29:13] when we die none of that stuff goes with

[29:15] us right the only thing that goes with

[29:18] us is the things that we invest

[29:22] eternally

[29:24] so in the end Judas did regret his

[29:27] action so if you could flip over to

[29:30] Matthew 27

[29:37] 3-5 all

[29:38] right then Judas which had betrayed him

[29:41] when he saw that he was condemned

[29:44] repented himself and brought again the

[29:47] 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests

[29:49] and

[29:49] Elders saying I have sinned in that I

[29:52] have betrayed the innocent blood and

[29:54] they said what is that to us see thou to

[29:57] that and he asked cast down the pieces

[29:59] of silver in the temple and departed and

[30:01] went and hanged

[30:06] himself now even in the end shortly

[30:10] after well once Jesus was delivered to

[30:12] Pilot now at this point Jesus hadn't

[30:14] even died yet but he regretted his

[30:16] actions even he in the end realized that

[30:19] the material was not as important is the

[30:23] Eternal and he he died for it and when

[30:27] we get to heaven we will be judged on

[30:29] our material versus Eternal things now a

[30:32] bit of a personal example for me is when

[30:35] I went to Heartland

[30:38] now I was I was talking with my mom and

[30:41] I was really excited because I was

[30:43] really getting into Heartland my

[30:44] relationship with God was growing and I

[30:46] was really excited and I was talking to

[30:48] my mom and I'm like man I I just didn't

[30:50] expect this to happen this this I didn't

[30:53] know that I was going to grow so much

[30:55] and my mom asked me she said well why

[30:58] did you go then and I started thinking

[31:00] about it and I was like well I I didn't

[31:01] go for my family I didn't go for my

[31:04] church I definitely I didn't go for my

[31:05] friends so I didn't go for the looks

[31:07] aspect and I started thinking well why

[31:09] did I go and I I figured out that I went

[31:14] for the book knowledge I wanted to know

[31:18] you know obviously just the books of the

[31:20] Bible I wanted to start learning them

[31:21] better and know the timelines and such

[31:24] and stuff along that sort and

[31:28] even in Bible college that was the

[31:29] material aspect of it I thought I was

[31:32] going for the right reasons and in the

[31:35] end now I am because now I want to go

[31:37] and grow my relationship with God but

[31:40] when I first started going I wanted to

[31:42] go for the book

[31:48] knowledge I wanted to go for learning

[31:51] about the Bible and really that makes me

[31:54] know better than one of the

[31:56] Sadducees because they had the first

[31:58] books of the Bible memorized at times

[32:00] and they could quote them and at that

[32:01] time they didn't have the numbers or

[32:02] chapters or anything so it made it even

[32:03] more

[32:05] difficult but they didn't have it right

[32:07] they weren't right with God because they

[32:09] only had the

[32:11] material and that's that is why I

[32:14] started to go to Heartland and that's

[32:17] what I realized I was like H I was going

[32:19] for the material aspects and not the

[32:21] Eternal

[32:22] aspects so now now I'm going for the

[32:25] Eternal Eternal aspects I'm really

[32:28] excited about that but even something as

[32:31] I guess you could say religious as Bible

[32:33] College you can go for the wrong reasons

[32:36] right even if you're learning all the

[32:37] stuff you can be getting the best grades

[32:39] learning all the stuff you know front

[32:41] and back you're 4.0 you can still be

[32:44] going for the material and in the end

[32:46] you'll have all the knowledge but when

[32:49] we get to heaven we're not going to be

[32:50] judged on our knowledge it'll be what we

[32:52] do for God and the things that we invest

[32:54] in

[32:56] eternally now if we could flip to

[32:59] Ecclesiastes 211 or uh you don't have to

[33:02] turn there I'll just read it uh then I

[33:05] looked on all the works that my hands

[33:07] had wrought and the labor that I had

[33:09] labored to do and behold all was vanity

[33:13] and vexation of spirit and there was no

[33:15] prophit Under the Sun now everybody know

[33:18] well most people know that Ecclesiastes

[33:20] is the book of vanity all is Vanity

[33:22] right it's what Solomon tells us and it

[33:25] really all is everything that we

[33:27] invested that's not Eternal or Jesus it

[33:29] will fade away right everything Fades

[33:33] away as Christians we need to constantly

[33:36] be living for God and him all the time

[33:39] in everything that we do now the final

[33:41] piece to start to close us out is

[33:47] 619 lay not up for yourselves Treasures

[33:51] upon Earth where moth and rust doth

[33:54] corrupt and where thieves break through

[33:56] and steal

[33:58] but lay up for yourselves Treasures in

[34:10] and that's just reaffirming that what we

[34:13] do now if if we're not investing in the

[34:15] future in

[34:17] eternity it doesn't matter we only we

[34:20] only have one life to live now recently

[34:23] I changed the screen saver on my phone

[34:26] to a Latin phrase momento Mor morning

[34:28] which means remember you will die and at

[34:30] first I was like man that's that's cool

[34:34] every time I open my phone I'd look at

[34:36] it and I do it just as a remembrance

[34:38] that we only have one life but everyone

[34:41] knows that the excitement from changing

[34:42] a screen saver Fades after about a day

[34:48] and I wouldn't even look at it anymore

[34:50] and how often do we forget that we

[34:52] really only have one chance we only have

[34:55] one shot here on Earth before before we

[34:58] go to Eternity forever we only have one

[35:00] shot to invest in eternity here rather

[51:23] discouraged you're depressed and going

[51:28] done the Bible says thou Lord art a

[51:32] shield for me he could have protect

[51:34] Elijah if Elijah ask for protection from

[51:38] the threat from

[51:39] Jezebel he can protect us in whatever

[51:41] we're going through but it continues and

[51:44] the glory and the lifter of my head if

[51:46] you're sitting down right now if you're

[51:49] down he's he can lift your head he can

[51:52] help you through the discouraging times

[51:54] the depressing times we just have to

[51:57] choose okay I'm going to stand up and

[53:41] you God wants to use you

[53:43] tonight you may have already been

[53:45] sitting for a long time now but you're

[53:48] still here God wants to use

[53:51] you God's done some amazing things this

[53:54] week the devil's going to try to have an

[53:56] effect

[53:57] the devil's already

[53:59] fighting the devil fights right when you

[54:01] walk out

[54:04] those how are you going to

[54:07] respond how are you going to respond to

[54:09] the devil's lies how are you going to

[54:11] respond to when you go to work how are

[57:04] anticipating some of us had uh surgeries

[57:10] anticipating I had to go to the dentist

[57:12] today because uh Saturday I had a tooth

[57:15] decide is wanted to fall

[57:17] out and so uh I'm not going to smile

[57:20] much tonight because it looks really

[57:21] weird so if I have a little lift you'll

[57:24] understand why uh Lord willing Friday

[57:26] we'll get it all

[57:29] fixed but it's been a

[57:31] year but Jesus Christ is the same

[57:36] yesterday and

[57:38] today and

[57:41] forever I want you to think about that

[57:43] for a

[57:44] moment same God who sent fire down from

[57:47] heaven is the one you get to pray

[57:50] to the same God that healed Blind Men

[57:53] lame men the same God you get to pray

[57:57] to the one who went and took a a a woman

[58:01] with a handful of meal and a little bit

[58:03] of oil and preserved that and sustained

[58:07] her life and her son's life and the

[58:09] prophet's life it's the same

[58:12] God so even though your bank account's

[58:15] getting low God's still the same he owns

[58:18] a cattle on a thousand hills he's still

[58:21] the same God he's the same God who let

[58:24] Peter go fishing and had gold in the

[58:26] fish's mouth he's the same God that can

[58:29] take care of your need he's the same God

[58:33] who can heal people he's the same

[58:37] God that same God who does all those

[58:40] miraculous things as two things of his

[58:46] people the widow

[58:49] woman Peter when God said he said to the

[58:53] Lord Lord bid me come on the water Jesus

[59:06] faith our theme this year has been about

[59:10] faith and it is

[59:13] Faith the first step is Faith you have

[59:16] to believe that God is

[59:20] able if you're going to truly live a

[59:26] today and forever it's going to take

[59:29] Faith you got to believe that God's

[59:32] able He's

[59:34] Able he's able to do it we sing the

[59:38] chorus He's Able He's Able

[59:42] I no not I think he is but I know he is

[59:47] I know he's able I know my Lord is able

[59:50] to deliver me so I I have faith to

[59:53] believe that God is able now you got to

[59:55] believe believe it despite your

[59:59] circumstances circumstances cannot

[60:01] overtake your faith unless you let

[60:05] it if you let your circumstances

[60:08] overtake your

[60:10] faith your faith will

[60:12] decline but we're to exercise our

[60:16] faith faith you have to believe that God

[60:19] is able despite your circumstances you

[60:20] have to believe that God is able despite

[60:22] what you have

[60:24] heard other people may say oh your God

[60:26] can't do that your God's not

[60:30] able and you say you don't know my

[60:35] God you don't know what our God can

[60:39] do thinking about it this past week last

[60:42] Sunday of April I sat in the wheelchair

[60:45] and preached uh from Luke 137 for with

[60:48] God nothing shall be

[60:49] impossible uh the Sunday before we left

[60:52] before Christmas I stood on the same

[60:55] floor

[60:56] and finish the message saying for with

[60:58] God nothing shall be

[61:03] impossible God's able we have to have

[61:06] faith despite what we've heard and

[61:08] despite what you think or

[61:11] feel you have to have faith faith in God

[61:16] so Step One is Faith step two is

[61:21] obedience obedience is Faith applied

[61:28] obedience is Faith

[61:32] applied it's one they say I know God's

[61:34] the same yesterday today and forever

[61:37] forever I know God is able but you put

[61:40] into action in your

[61:44] applied obedience Jesus said to Peter

[61:52] reality till he obeyed and he stepped

[61:56] the widow woman with a handful of the

[61:57] meal and the cruise of

[61:59] oil Elijah said do this and she did it

[62:04] she obeyed and God

[62:08] blessed and then God blessed the next

[62:10] day and the next day and the next day by

[62:13] living a life of faith when Moses and

[62:17] the Israelites came to the Red

[62:19] Sea by

[62:21] faith and then they had to step out and

[62:24] walk through the water

[62:27] when they came to the Jordan River and

[62:28] God piled it up heaps upon

[62:30] heaps had to have faith and they had to

[62:34] step

[62:35] through you got to

[62:37] obey so faith and obedience obedience is

[62:40] taking the next step that God tells you

[62:44] to

[62:45] take obedience is taking the next step

[62:48] that God tells you to take I going leave

[62:50] you with this

[62:52] thought we wrap it all up and have our

[62:54] invitation time

[62:56] God directs your

[63:00] steps

[63:02] and your

[63:05] stops God directs your

[63:08] steps and your

[63:12] stops some of us we're not living a life

[63:15] by faith because there's some things we

[63:17] need to

[63:21] stop and God's saying I want you to take

[63:23] the next step but you need to stop this

[63:25] I want you to take the next step but you

[63:27] need to stop this and sometimes he says

[63:30] here's the next

[63:32] step but stop and wait till I tell you

[63:34] to go it's not time

[63:37] yet it's not time yet God directs your

[63:41] steps and he directs your stops 2025

[63:44] God's got great

[63:46] plans he does believe with all my heart

[63:51] if he didn't have great plans we'd be

[63:53] raptured out

[63:54] already God's got plans for people to

[63:56] get saved let let me tell you how our

[63:58] God works somebody just happened to stop

[64:01] by church on

[64:02] Sunday some you haven't heard the story

[64:05] yet about an individual visiting the

[64:07] church traveling from New Mexico to St

[64:11] Louis

[64:12] Missouri to go back home on a Sunday

[64:16] morning happen to stop at our

[64:22] church now they've been attending a

[64:24] church of a different different

[64:26] denomination but they stopped at an

[64:28] independent Fundamental Bible preaching

[64:32] church and heard the

[64:35] gospel and a lady accepted Christ as her

[64:40] savior while just passing

[64:45] through another young man was in the

[64:47] service and God was working on his heart

[64:49] and one of our men had the opportunity

[64:51] to talk to him after the service said a

[64:53] 14-year-old teenage boy accepted Christ

[64:55] as his savior on

[64:58] Sunday he's still in the saving

[65:03] business well you know what that took

[65:06] that took some altar workers and some

[65:08] other people to take the next

[65:11] step to be ready to take the next step

[65:14] say this is how you can be saved this is

[65:17] how God can save your life it's having

[65:21] eyes open and a sensitivity to the Holy

[65:24] Spirit to know when God says it you need

[65:26] to do

[65:27] it you got to take the next steps God's

[65:30] still in the saving business there's

[65:31] still people to be saved in

[65:34] 2025 guess what he wants to use you me

[65:39] to do

[65:40] that brother Glenn that's your highest

[65:42] attendance you had Monday wasn't it 13

[65:45] 13 attended the nursing home service on

[65:49] Monday God's in the business saving

[65:51] souls and changing lives there's more

[65:54] bus riders to ride the bus there's more

[66:21] depressed you're anchor to the Rock he's

[66:24] the lifter up of your head

[66:27] know it's easy sometimes to get focused

[66:30] on the things that are the pressures of

[66:32] this

[66:34] world as a pastor sometimes it you're

[66:37] you're watching the the offering total

[66:39] and you can get concerned and you can

[66:41] say oh I don't know about this I don't

[66:43] know about this and it's tight this

[66:44] month and you can look at all of

[66:48] that and then God send somebody by says

[66:51] hey I I didn't get to be at church but

[66:54] uh I wanted to give this the tie

[66:57] check can I put that in the

[67:00] offering

[67:03] absolutely so we made an extra deposit

[67:06] yesterday so we can get it in before the

[67:07] end of the

[67:11] year and God takes the moments that we

[67:14] might be discouraged God takes the

[67:16] moments he says watch me I'm at work

[67:20] watch

[67:21] me just stand at

[67:23] all and watch what God can do God

[67:27] directs your steps and your stops some

[67:30] of you God's got plans to use you

[67:31] mightily in

[67:34] 2025 it's the next steps but some of you

[67:37] going to have to stop some things before

[67:39] you can take the next step and some of

[67:41] you you're in a holding

[67:43] pattern it's not time to land yet it's

[67:45] not time to go yet God said just wait

[74:23] people refused to leave and they were

[74:25] sitting there and talking and trying to

[74:30] talk louder than we were singing but you

[74:34] going to get in a competition with me

[74:35] I'm going to sing real loud and I was

[74:38] singing Oh Holy Night and when it got to

[74:41] the part where it says bow down on your

[74:45] knees man did they get

[74:48] quiet everybody listen to the end of the

[74:51] song of Night Divine not preach the

[74:53] message that

[74:55] there were actually 13 different kind of

[74:58] groups of people at the very first

[75:00] Christmas first of all you had Jesus he

[75:03] want to be born he want to be the savior

[75:06] of the world you had Mary she just want

[75:08] to have this baby and then you had

[75:11] Joseph he wanted to find a place for

[75:13] this baby to be born you had the

[75:15] inkeeper he didn't want nothing to do

[75:17] with it he already had too much people

[75:19] and responsibility he told him to get

[75:20] lost so they went and found a barn but

[75:23] God the father he didn't Want Jesus born

[75:25] in all that hustle bustle mess he had

[75:28] him born in a nice quiet Barn nice

[75:31] private peaceful place and then the

[75:34] Angels had to go show up in heaven and

[75:37] glorify God and praise God and then the

[75:40] Shepherds saw him and they said man

[75:42] let's go check out what happened so the

[75:44] shepherds run off they want to go see

[75:48] Jesus and then the Shepherds left and

[75:50] told everybody what they saw and then

[75:52] you got the people that wonder what

[75:54] happened at Christmas and they were

[75:56] wondering what the shepherd said the

[75:58] wise men just want to come and worship

[76:00] Jesus but they end up asking Herod where

[76:03] he is Herod end up wanting to kill

[76:06] Jesus but the wise men go and give their

[76:09] gifts and there's all these things going

[76:13] on and then the the scribes and the

[76:15] Pharisees at herod's Palace he asked

[76:18] them they wanted to read the scriptures

[76:20] about Jesus and they told him where

[76:22] Jesus was born so we got all all these

[76:25] different kind of people everybody wants

[76:27] something different for

[76:30] Christmas and what is it you wanted for

[76:34] Christmas if it's not Jesus it's an idol

[76:36] repent get right with God and get Jesus

[77:50] kind of confusing to me I wasn't quite

[77:52] sure and I was too young and probably

[77:55] stupid to um wait on the Lord because

[77:59] one of my toxic traits is

[78:02] impatience um but this year it was

[78:05] crystal clear what I was supposed to do

[78:07] and he set a path before me he lit It Up

[78:10] made it obvious and I can't wait for

[78:13] next year it's going to be a great year

[78:15] not just for me but I have a feeling

[78:18] that God is I mean he's working so much

[78:21] in our church our our bus Ministry is

[78:23] increasing we're getting more members

[78:25] here people are getting saved it's the

[78:28] world is the world of El Reno is

[78:30] changing and God is making it change for

[78:33] the positive and each person here has a

[78:37] responsibility to be that light in your

[78:40] neighborhood in your um in your town at

[78:44] your place of work anywhere you are even

[78:47] if you're in line it hurts right

[78:51] but it's just wonderful because he's

[78:53] he's lit that up and I thought about it

[78:56] and it's like wow God He Did It For Me

[78:59] me I'm I'm corrupted I've got flesh and

[79:03] he is lighting a path for me and he

[79:08] wants to do it for everyone amen you

[79:47] we've had um two grandkids that have

[79:55] um our oldest grandson who is 11 is uh

[80:01] this past Sunday got to play in the real

[80:03] people's class at Southwest his piano

[80:07] and did such a fantastic job he was so

[80:09] nervous but he's using his talent for

[80:11] the Lord amen and that blesses the

[80:14] grandmother's heart and

[80:17] um God's just been good to us this year

[80:21] and God has given us the opportunity to

[80:23] serve in a church

[80:25] um love teaching the Sunday school class

[80:29] and the children are always so excited

[80:33] about coming and I'm so grateful for

[80:36] that and thankful for the bus workers

[80:38] who bring them in and for the moms and

[80:41] dads that will bring their children to

[80:42] church and are showing them how to uh

[80:46] bring up their children as they get

[80:48] older showing them the way and so

[80:51] thankful for the pastor and Miss

[80:52] Jennifer and and thankful for this

[80:55] church

[82:03] Oklahoma um my life hasn't really been

[82:07] easiest um like where I want it to be

[82:11] you know but every time I get down to my

[82:16] tank on my truck being empty

[82:18] or my wallet being

[82:22] empty somebody or or somebody's like hey

[82:27] I hear so and so needs something work

[82:28] done for some money or hey you know mind

[82:33] doing this for some money

[82:35] or my job comes through with a paycheck

[82:38] you know I just every every every single

[82:40] time I've I've come down to literally my

[82:43] last dollar bill

[82:46] and my trucks lights on and I'm driving

[82:50] getting ready to drive home and then

[82:51] there's a Christmas card with some money

[82:52] in it and it's like

[82:55] it's been like that for the last year

[82:57] and it's been

[82:58] crazy it's been heart pounding and but

[83:02] in all in all I literally have been I

[83:33] through this church as long as well as

[83:36] with my life and I'm excited I am it's

[83:42] totally different than the way I was

[83:43] before I got here so thank you guys and

[83:47] thank thank you God amise the Lord back

[84:00] husband I just wanted to share um some

[84:03] of the things that have happened in

[84:05] Sunday school class the kids just really

[84:08] they're so receptive and I know a lot of

[84:10] them haven't heard much about God before

[84:12] but the bus route um gave them all

[84:15] Bibles and they got them about through

[84:17] the middle class and they were so

[84:20] excited about getting to read the Bibles

[84:23] and no can't really read but during the

[84:26] lesson they kept on um asking me where

[84:29] they should Flip or where they should go

[84:31] and it's just really encouraging to see

[84:33] how much they're learning

[84:35] and sometimes it doesn't seem like the

[84:37] kids are paying attention sometimes you

[84:39] know they'll raise their hand and have

[84:41] some really really random thing to say I

[84:43] think my favorite this week was um and

[84:46] it was really hard not to laugh at this

[84:48] one of the kids in the front row raise

[84:49] their hands and just he didn't raise his

[84:51] hand he just told me that his hands were

[84:52] really soft because he was playing with

[84:53] slime and I was like

[84:55] okay but then the next week sometimes

[84:58] they'll recap the entire lesson and

[85:01] they're learning

[85:04] and just thank you for praying for the

[85:06] kids and I'm thankful for the bus route

[85:09] that they can learn because they're so

[85:11] open to it and I think that they're

[85:13] learning a lot and I think it's amazing

[85:16] just the open-heartedness of the

[85:19] children so I just wanted to share that

[85:24] brother Rodney back there in the back

[85:35] um so um earlier in the message time um

[85:40] one of the things that like Josh was

[85:42] saying about um having moments in your

[85:45] life where you're just ready to quit and

[85:48] give everything up and or just praying

[85:52] and asking God to help you through it it

[85:55] made me think of um Shadrach mhak a

[85:59] minute ago when they had to go through

[86:01] the fiery furnace and God didn't save

[86:05] them from the furnace he saved them in

[86:07] the

[86:08] furnace and

[86:11] um sorry I lost my train of thought um

[86:16] there's times in our life where um you

[86:20] know our I know what I was gonna say

[86:23] where we can

[86:24] we can want to just come out of the

[86:26] furnace but I had a thought random

[86:29] thought that I had never thought before

[86:31] and um I just I started thinking I don't

[86:34] think the Bible says anywhere that

[86:37] Shadrach mhach and Abednego saw the Lord

[86:40] in the fiery furnace it was

[86:41] Nebuchadnezzar the king he saw the Son

[86:44] of God in the in the fire not they

[86:47] didn't see him and I and I couldn't help

[86:50] but think about how many times in my

[86:52] life when I I've went through really

[86:55] really difficult things it's hard to see

[86:58] God sometimes in those moments sometimes

[87:02] those things can be so overwhelming in

[87:06] your life

[87:07] and

[87:09] discouraging that it's easy for us to

[87:12] get in those moments of just sitting

[87:14] down and wanting to give up because we

[87:17] don't see God and but other people can

[87:20] see God working in our lives in those

[87:22] moments and I think about how important

[87:26] it is to remain faithful in those

[87:29] moments it's hard it and but I know I

[87:34] can look

[87:35] back even Beyond this past year there

[87:39] was times when I went through some

[87:40] really really hard things since we've

[87:42] been here

[87:44] and oh

[87:46] man really really difficult and but I

[87:50] know that those were the moments where

[87:52] God was stretching me and growing my

[87:54] Faith the most and it's easy for us to

[87:58] to miss it it's easy for us to not see

[88:00] God when we're when we're going through

[88:03] those hard things but that's when he's

[88:04] working the most in our life and uh this

[88:08] past year

[88:09] especially

[88:10] um it was trying it it's it was a hard a

[88:14] hard year with everything that we we've

[88:17] gone through but you know it you can you

[88:21] can look back when you go through it and

[88:23] see how God was there with you through

[88:25] everything but I just want to thank God

[88:27] for bringing us through um all of that

[88:31] it was really really hard and I and I'm

[88:34] thankful for a church that stood by

[88:38] us I know

[88:41] that it was hard for a church to not

[88:45] even have their Pastor for a while and

[88:49] um to still support us during all of

[88:52] that to be there for us and um just the

[88:58] way people stepped up

[89:00] too and um God is working in our church

[89:04] and I'm I'm thankful for all that God's

[89:07] doing and I'm looking forward to all the

[89:10] things and ways we're going to continue

[89:13] to grow next year but I just thank God

[89:15] for all that

[89:24] I was talking to someone who who said

[89:30] who knows what Jesus

[89:32] wrote

[89:34] and I was saying to

[89:37] myself what did God

[89:41] right

[89:45] and by the way thank

[91:25] uh uh and Alexis yeah she's really hard

[91:29] to deal with too but God's working in

[91:32] her too I can tell and uh Tamara my

[91:35] daughter she sits around and listens to

[91:38] church music on her phone a lot

[91:40] so but yeah I I just want to thank

[91:42] everybody here and I'm just thankful for

[91:45] this church and I'm looking forward to

[91:48] see what God's going to do this next

[91:49] year

[92:14] salvation I think sometimes we don't

[92:17] think about how much it means because if

[92:20] you grow up in church you've lived with

[92:21] it so long because you know you got

[92:23] saved when you were 4 years old kneeling

[92:25] at your parents'

[92:26] bed

[92:29] but I think this year God has really

[92:32] showed

[92:34] me what it truly means to like receive

[92:37] that gift and just kind of going off of

[92:41] what Audrey mentioned about her kiddos

[92:43] in her class and um I've really been

[92:48] blessed to work with our kids a lot this

[92:51] year and kind of dive into that and I

[92:53] had so much much fun with VBS and after

[92:56] that I think I've really started to like

[92:59] develop good relationships and

[93:00] friendships with the kids from there on

[93:02] and really really look forward to um

[93:06] every time I get to step in for junior

[93:07] church and knowing them by name and the

[93:10] things that they like and you know um

[93:14] just knowing them for the soul that they

[93:16] are

[93:19] and maybe like three weeks back several

[93:22] weeks back um

[93:25] God allowed me

[93:27] to lead a little girl to the Lord and

[93:31] this was so precious to me because I

[93:33] have not had a chance to do that in a

[93:35] very long

[93:40] time I'm so sorry I'm

[93:43] not um I'm growing up as a missionary

[93:47] kid you know you see that a lot and

[93:49] that's your whole job technically um um

[93:54] and you you know I grow up I grew up

[93:56] seeing my parents do that a lot and I

[93:58] had the chance to do that a lot too when

[94:00] I was little as well you know with kids

[94:02] my age and stuff

[94:03] but it's different in the states

[94:07] sometimes I've noticed and it's hard to

[94:08] reach people and it's much easier to

[94:11] reach children and they're they're much

[94:13] more open and they're excited

[94:16] and um this little

[94:19] girl I think she had been I've noticed

[94:22] she'd been questioning for for a while

[94:24] and you know she raised her hand and I

[94:27] the garas were in there that weekend

[94:29] brother Garza asked me to take her um

[94:33] and speak with her and I genuinely

[94:35] panicked at first because I was like do

[94:38] I even know like I haven't done this in

[94:42] a while um and I almost you know ran and

[94:46] was like Mrs Garza help me but I I

[94:48] prayed and I was like Lord I want to do

[94:50] this can you help me can you help her I

[94:53] want to have this conversation with her

[94:56] and I was able to lead her to the Lord

[94:59] and it was the most beautiful thing I'd

[95:01] ever seen to see how

[95:04] excited she was about it and immediately

[95:08] after like all the other kids were

[95:10] playing games because it was game time

[95:12] they were super excited and I thought

[95:13] she wanted to go play afterwards you

[95:16] know as a kid would but she instead

[95:18] wanted to go around to all the teachers

[95:19] and tell them she got saved I sat down

[95:22] with her and she asked me to show her

[95:24] she was like Hey can you show me the

[95:27] verses that you used so I can remember

[95:33] them

[95:36] and it just got me

[95:39] thinking

[95:41] how and and and Christ too even says

[95:44] this in the Bible that we need to have

[95:46] like the heart of a child in that way

[95:48] and how often we really

[95:51] don't because I think kids understand

[95:54] just how precious that is and they want

[95:57] to begin that relationship with him and

[96:00] I really going forward this this new

[96:04] year I want to keep that like first and

[96:07] foremost in my mind

[96:09] that Jesus came to Earth to save me to

[96:13] save every person that I have come

[96:16] across every neighbor I pass every

[96:19] person I pass in the street every person

[96:22] I pass in Walmart every person I come in

[96:24] contact with at work whether I like

[96:26] someone or not Christ came to save them

[96:29] because he knows the value of a soul and

[96:31] if we're to be like Christ then we

[96:32] should know the value of a

[96:35] soul and so just going into this new

[96:37] year

[96:38] I I just want to kind of renew that in

[96:42] my mind and the people around me share

[96:45] that with them as well and Billy try to

[96:48] share Christ with others and I've tried

[96:49] to be more bold in my workplace as well

[96:51] too which has been hard but but also

[96:54] rewarding in ways because I'm able to

[96:56] have like challenging conversations and

[96:58] I'm thankful for it but I just

[97:02] especially ask that you know you guys

[97:04] would pray in this upcoming year for our

[97:07] kids and our Outreach and just

[97:10] everything that we're doing to try to

[97:11] lead these children to the Lord and to

[97:13] disciple them and get them to grow and

[97:15] get them to be excited and they're

[97:17] already so excited and that means we

[97:19] have something great to work with and

[97:21] like our attendance is is growing the

[97:24] bus is growing and that's a great

[97:26] problem to have and I'm so thankful for

[97:28] it and I'm just so excited to see what

[97:31] God does amise Lord I think uh the next

[97:36] week her brother got saved the next week

[97:39] I remember right and so excited for that

[97:42] and you know it's exciting when young

[97:45] people accept Christ as their savior

[97:48] thrilling any other testimonies

[97:52] tonight all right

[97:54] around oh back there in the back brother

[98:08] Canton um firstly I'd like to uh thank

[98:12] God for my

[98:13] salvation uh and I thank him for uh

[98:18] giving me parents that drug me to church

[98:21] and made me come every time they were

[98:24] open and I've been looking back on my

[98:29] year uh this

[98:31] 20124 and seeing that's been a year of

[98:36] of growth um and add of

[98:40] responsibilities and I feel like I at

[98:44] the beginning I feel like I could do

[98:46] almost anything um I went off to a a

[98:50] year of Heartland and I lived in the

[98:53] dorms and didn't have to I wasn't solely

[98:55] relying on my parents I'm like I can do

[98:58] anything um

[99:01] and I've got the opportunity to uh stay

[99:05] here and to do uh great things uh like

[99:08] in VBS um for the first time I got to uh

[99:12] lead a class and that was stressful um I

[99:18] I remember I I told you uh I wanted to

[99:20] do whatever you needed me to and and the

[99:23] day we were going for the meetings uh I

[99:26] realized that you would uh put me in

[99:29] that position

[99:31] um and uh at first I

[99:35] was uh nervous um but the Lord was using

[99:40] it to grow me and to uh bring me closer

[99:44] to what he wants me to be and um all the

[99:47] different opportunities that I've been

[99:49] super blessed to have this year um

[99:52] working on the bus has has been so much

[99:54] fun each week uh talking to the kids

[99:57] leading them in singing getting to know

[100:00] who they are um and when they get on the

[100:03] bus they they come over um or say Hey

[100:08] Brother Canton good morning um when I

[100:11] check on them over when they sit over on

[100:13] the side I walk over and I got kids

[100:17] asking me brother can come over here

[100:19] come come sit over here and it it truly

[100:22] is humbling to see that God is willing

[100:25] to use someone like me uh to be such a

[100:29] heavy impact in uh these kids' lives

[100:34] and and using um my opportunities to uh

[100:39] that I'm given to grow me um I'm know

[100:43] I'm not exactly where I need to be yet

[100:46] but I'm just so thankful he gave me this

[100:48] year to understand where I'm at where I

[100:53] need to be and each step along the way

[100:57] he's uh been growing me so thankful for

[101:00] it praise the Lord all

[101:04] right let's all stand
