[0:00] Our main brain is not meant for storing information.
[0:02] We're very bad.
[0:03] I'm worse than average. In real life,
[0:05] if we need to create neural connection, they either need
[0:07] to be traumatic enough to be stuck there forever, or
[0:09] they need to be repeated again and again.
[0:10] And we just don't have the luxury to do that.
[0:12] A thought that I have on the bus, a
[0:13] feeling that I have randomly when someone says
[0:15] something, that's not going to stick.
[0:16] But sometimes, we get that.
[0:18] Sometimes you read a book, and
[0:19] suddenly you see the world differently.
[0:20] But you can't adopt that lens forever.
[0:22] This means I'm never not ready to

[0:39] I'll do this maybe two or three times a year. – Oh, wow.
[0:41] – Very rarely.
[0:42] – That is even more extreme than I do.
[0:44] I love it.
[0:44] – "Systems that get better the less you work on them" -
[0:46] I was like, "this is the
[0:48] most beautiful thing I've ever heard!"
[0:50] Let's dig in.
[0:50] Starting with Capture, how notes
[0:53] enter Elizabeth's Second Brain.
[0:54] I used to start with just pen and paper because I
[0:56] had this romantic notion that if you write it by hand,
[0:58] it just feels so nice and all that stuff.
[1:00] But it's awful.
[1:01] It's just not sustainable. There's too much information.
[1:03] So I've switched to digital.
[1:04] Now, w
