[0:00] good morning Bible Baptist Church family

[0:03] and it's Tuesday and it's time for the

[0:07] word of encouragement so thankful that

[0:10] you're tuning in this morning as we

[0:11] continue our words of encouragement

[0:13] today we are gonna be in Philemon again

[0:16] but then today we'll be in verses 5 6 &

[0:19] 7 so let's dive right into the book of

[0:22] Philemon verses 5 6 & 7 the michael says

[0:25] hearing of thy love and faith which thou

[0:28] has toward the Lord Jesus and toward All

[0:31] Saints that the communication of thy

[0:34] faith may become effectual by the

[0:37] acknowledging of every good thing which

[0:41] is in you in Christ Jesus for we have

[0:44] great joy and consolation in thy love

[0:48] because the bowels of saints are

[0:51] refreshed by the brother it's so

[0:53] exciting when you look at this portion

[0:55] of Scripture we mentioned it yesterday

[0:57] at the end of our word of encouragement

[0:59] verse number five and we're gonna pick

[1:01] up there again hearing of thy love and

[1:04] faith which thou hast toward the Lord

[1:06] and how exciting it is for us to have a

[1:09] love for the Lord and faith toward the

[1:12] Lord but he also has says here that

[1:14] Philemon's faith was toward All Saints

[1:17] toward All Saints and that it was

[1:19] encouraging that when you love God

[1:22] you'll love people he goes on in verse

[1:24] six that the communication of thy faith

[1:26] may become effectual by the aknowledge

[1:30] enough every good thing which is in you

[1:32] in Christ Jesus in Christ Jesus and so

[1:36] it's an encouraging thought that we

[1:39] think about here with the life of

[1:41] Philemon that according to his faith his

[1:44] faith in his love toward God it affected

[1:47] how he related to other people and it

[1:51] encourages him and so it's very amazing

[1:53] when you stop and consider the life of

[1:56] Philemon and some encouragement that we

[1:58] have that he said the communication of

[2:00] thy faith may become effectual by the

[2:03] acknowledging he said in other words in

[2:05] order for us to have the impact on

[2:07] people that we need to have the to be

[2:10] effectually communicating the faith

[2:13] we've gotta stop and consider every good

[2:16] thing which is in you in Christ Jesus so

[2:22] when we stop and consider what all

[2:24] Christ has done for us it helps us to

[2:27] communicate the faith I think of

[2:29] Jeremiah who said that it was like a

[2:31] fire set up in his bones he was ready to

[2:34] stop he was ready to quit but when he

[2:36] recognized that he could not stop he

[2:39] said it was like a fire set up in his

[2:41] bones he said I could not help but speak

[2:44] of these things and you know in our

[2:46] lives

[2:47] I've been called this sometimes been

[2:50] guilty of this that I've been considered

[2:53] a very excitable person numb he know not

[2:57] your preacher I'm not excitable I'd

[2:59] always speak in a monotone voice I'm

[3:01] right

[3:02] no it's an exciting thing to worship God

[3:04] it's an exciting thing to stop and

[3:07] consider what all Christ has done for us

[3:09] and so this morning as we stop and

[3:12] consider all the good things that we get

[3:14] to enjoy because of Christ Jesus it

[3:17] should help us to communicate our faith

[3:21] when I stop and consider that because of

[3:23] Christ I'm not going to help that's an

[3:26] exciting thing when I stop and consider

[3:28] because of Christ I get to go to heaven

[3:30] and the wonderful truth that's there I

[3:33] think of John chapter 14 when it says

[3:36] let not your heart be troubled you

[3:38] believe in God believe also in me and

[3:40] then he goes in and says in my father's

[3:42] house are many mansions if it were not

[3:44] so I would have told you I go to prepare

[3:46] a place for you and if I go and prepare

[3:48] a place for you I will come again and

[3:50] receive you unto myself that where I am

[3:52] there you may be also it's so exciting

[3:54] when you think about heaven you think

[3:57] about all the blessings that come from

[3:59] being in Christ the mercy and the truth

[4:02] and the grace that he bestows upon our

[4:04] lives the fact that he answers prayer he

[4:07] hears our prayer that he daily maketh

[4:09] intercession for us if you can't tell

[4:11] this preachers a little bit excited

[4:12] about the blessings that come from being

[4:15] in Christ and we can't help but get it

[4:17] out and to tell everyone I think of

[4:20] something maybe this will help this

[4:22] morning

[4:23] there's a man by the name of jonas salk

[4:25] you ever heard of Jonas Salk Jonas Salk

[4:28] had a family remedy that he discovered

[4:30] he discovered a family remedy and this

[4:32] family remedy helped to cure a major

[4:34] disease during that time of his life

[4:38] that that disease was called polio who

[4:41] say well preacher I thought there's a

[4:43] vaccine for polio now there is you see

[4:45] Jonas Salk when he discovered the cure

[4:48] for polio he didn't keep it a secret he

[4:50] didn't keep it a family recipe though

[4:52] some of us would say that wouldn't be a

[4:54] bad thing that if he discovered a cure

[4:56] for polio that he just kept it in the

[4:58] family but no he shared it without the

[5:00] whole world because he didn't want

[5:02] anyone to suffer with polio and so they

[5:04] brought about this vaccine to help with

[5:06] polio and Jonas Salk shared it with the

[5:09] world and we got something better than

[5:12] the cure for polio we've got the cure

[5:14] for sin and his name is Jesus Christ and

[5:17] his shed blood on the cross of Calvary

[5:19] we can't help but share it with this

[5:22] lost and dying world

[5:23] we can't help but share the blessings

[5:25] that come from a life with Christ and

[5:28] verse 7 of that text he says for we have

[5:30] great joy and consolation and I love

[5:33] because the bowels of the Saints are

[5:36] refreshed by the brother

[5:37] now the bowels at that time were

[5:39] considered the center of emotion so in

[5:41] our language today here in our Western

[5:44] culture that would be the heart the

[5:46] heart is the center of our motion so it

[5:48] would say that the joy and consolation

[5:50] that his love for people because of his

[5:53] love for Christ refreshed the hearts of

[5:55] other people are you a downer

[5:58] are you a discourage her are you uplift

[6:02] her are you a refresher I had the

[6:05] opportunity for many years to work for

[6:07] the organization chick-fil-a and we

[6:09] changed the language you know we would

[6:12] offer what we would call free refills in

[6:15] the store but chick-fil-a wanted to

[6:17] change the language when I was there we

[6:19] went through a process of doing those

[6:21] things and during my time working at

[6:23] chick-fil-a that's when they first

[6:24] adopted the my pleasure statement and

[6:26] then they also we went to can i refresh

[6:30] your beverage to bring it back to life

[6:32] to fill it back up and in our life

[6:35] as we think about that this morning that

[6:37] we need to refresh one another are you a

[6:41] refreshment to people are you a

[6:43] discouragement to people now you know

[6:46] the answer for yourselves and I hope and

[6:48] pray that in my life I can be a

[6:50] refreshing refreshing spirit refreshing

[6:54] other people with my love for Christ

[6:55] that in turn helps me to love other

[6:57] people and so this morning let me

[6:59] challenge you to have a heart like

[7:01] Philemon then refresh the Brethren so

[7:05] find somebody today here's the challenge

[7:07] find someone today and give them a word

[7:10] of encouragement send them a text

[7:13] message and share with them a refreshing

[7:17] statement sharing that maybe that you're

[7:18] praying for them share with them that

[7:20] you you care for them that you love them

[7:22] that you're concerned about them and be

[7:25] a refresher today bring it back to life

[7:27] and encourage them oh this time that we

[7:30] live in it can be discouraging it can be

[7:32] depressing but let's refresh somebody

[7:34] today so let me challenge it beer

[7:36] refresher because of your love for

[7:39] Christ and how that love helps to

[7:41] express it to this world why don't you

[7:43] and I today refresh somebody so thank

[7:47] you for tuning in this morning to the

[7:48] word of encouragement I hope and pray

[7:51] you have a wonderful wonderful day and

[7:53] I'll see you next time on the word of

[7:55] encouragement have a blessed day god

[7:57] bless you and let's be a refreshment to

[7:59] somebody today
