[0:40] >> Hello and welcome. I'm Anne Kellen. Dem
[0:42] bones. Dem bones. Excavators and
[0:44] paleontologists in upstate New York are
[0:47] in the process of digging up what they
[0:48] believe to be at least two woolly
[0:50] mammoth skeletons. Both preserved in a
[0:53] glacier pond for the last 11,000 years.
[0:56] But this prehistoric tale has a modern
[0:58] twist, which like everything these days
[1:01] involved the internet.
[1:05] It's always been a dream of excavator
[1:07] Larry Hakes to one day dig up
[1:09] prehistoric bones. On September 15th,

[1:26] direction. That's
[1:27] >> scientists think buried in this mud is
[1:29] the entire skeleton of an older woolly
[1:31] mammoth that had a little arthritis in
[1:33] its chest.
[1:34] >> I don't know if it walked with a limp,
[1:36] but it probably was sore when it had to
[1:38] turn the other way.
[1:40] >> They also found the partial remains of a
[1:42] younger woolly. The two got stuck in the
[1:44] mud and drowned. Researchers can relate
[1:46] to getting stuck. Don't do it if you get
[1:48] if you're going to get stuck. I'm going
[1:50] to need help getting back up.
[1:53] >> What makes th
