[0:00] We are almost out of time. That was
[0:03] President Obama's warning as Congress
[0:05] groped for a way to avoid a government
[0:07] default. Car makers agree to double the
[0:10] mileage their vehicles get, but Jill
[0:12] Maxel Rod reports it will take a while
[0:15] and there's a catch. It's a diagnosis
[0:18] nobody wants to hear.
[0:20] >> He says you have bladder cancer and you
[0:23] could feel the room spinning.
[0:24] >> Then it got worse. Dr. John Leuke on why
[0:27] bladder cancer patients almost never get
[0:30] the recommended treatment and a pilot
[0:33] crashed into Lake Hiron.
[0:35] >> I'm like, "Oh my god, you survived a

[1:13] less than $39 billion on hand to pay its
[1:17] bills. By Tuesday, it will be less than
[1:20] 26 billion. By Wednesday, less than 15
[1:23] billion. But here's where the crunch
[1:25] comes. On Wednesday, the government will
[1:28] owe $23 billion to Social Security
[1:32] recipients. We've got a team of
[1:34] correspondents on this important story
[1:36] tonight. And we're going to start at the
[1:38] capital with Nancy Cordes. Nancy, Bob,
[1:41] the bill narrowly passed a short time
[1:43] ago by a vote of 218 to 210 with no
[1:47] Democrats voting yes. And
