[0:01] good evening hurricane Kate is chilling

[0:04] in the Atlantic tonight on a course that

[0:06] could threaten South Florida

[0:07] we have complete storm coverage

[0:09] beginning with Dr Neil Frank live at the

[0:11] National Hurricane Center Dr Frank

[0:14] hurricane warnings are still in effect

[0:16] on the Florida East Coast from Jupiter

[0:18] Inlet Southward through the Florida Keys

[0:20] and on the Florida West Coast northward

[0:22] to Fort Myers including all of Lee

[0:24] County now during the evening there are

[0:26] as the satellite pictures would indicate

[0:28] that the center of the storm has

[0:30] continued to move towards the West a

[0:32] river of air has picked this storm up

[0:34] and is moving along at maybe 20 miles an

[0:36] hour the center at 11 PM was near the

[0:40] Cuban Coast the coordinates on the on

[0:42] the position would be 22.2 North

[0:46] 77.9 West that position is about 300

[0:49] miles south south east of Miami now the

[0:52] good news for us tonight is that the

[0:54] center is still down near the Cuban

[0:56] Coast that means that the hurricane

[0:57] force winds are spreading along the

[1:00] coastline this evening should spread on

[1:02] into Western Cuba tomorrow there still

[1:04] is an outside chance that the center

[1:06] could begin to move a little bit north

[1:08] of Due West if that occurs then it would

[1:10] bring hurricane force winds on up into

[1:12] portions of the keys or maybe parts of

[1:15] South Florida tomorrow morning so we're

[1:17] going to have to watch that very

[1:18] carefully tonight but at least the good

[1:20] news tonight is that the center has

[1:22] continued to move towards the west and

[1:24] along the Cuban Coast as opposed to

[1:25] moving up in our general dire
