[0:00] Grim look inside a burned out railroad

[0:02] car in London. And a battle of the

[0:05] sexes. It's woman versus man in a

[0:08] Seattle boxing ring.

[0:12] >> This is the CBS Evening News with Thalia

[0:17] Ashurus.

[0:18] [music] Good evening everyone. The big

[0:21] bonanza in car sales over the last year

[0:23] seems to have put auto workers in the

[0:25] driver's seat. The Ford company has

[0:27] reached a tentative agreement with the

[0:29] United Auto Workers Union. And as Drew

[0:31] Levenson reports, the deal gives

[0:32] employees raises and significant

[0:35] bonuses.

[1:02] $16 billion in their account, and I feel

[1:05] like the workers deserve some of that

[1:07] money. They apparently got some. The

[1:10] pact reportedly mirrors those negotiated

[1:12] earlier with General Motors and Daimler

[1:14] Chrysler. Those deals are said to

[1:16] include annual raises of 3% and a

[1:19] signing bonus for hourly workers. But

[1:22] money may not have been the major

[1:24] hangup. The union wanted to derail

[1:26] Ford's plan to spin off its Viston parts

[1:28] division.

[1:28] >> It simply doesn't have the time, the

[1:30] management, or the money to both compete

[1:33] for auto auto customers and make the

[1:35] best parts in the
