[0:00] We were a great team till he left me for

[0:02] that cushy desk job with Gibbs and his

[0:04] crew. He got soft on me.

[0:06] >> Here we go.

[0:06] >> Oh, I mean, it's hardly a desk job. I

[0:08] think it's put himself in danger a

[0:10] thousand times over, so maybe he's off

[0:11] of it.

[0:12] >> We're only a couple of episodes into the

[0:14] new season of NCIS. There's already been

[0:16] a few twists and turns already. Don't

[0:18] worry, no spoilers here. Many familiar

[0:20] faces remain in what is now the 24th

[0:23] season. Amazing. But some Stalwart

[0:25] characters are growing and evolving.

[0:28] Joining us now is NCIS band favorite

[0:30] actor Katrina Law who portrays special

[0:32] agent Jessica Knight who you just saw in

[0:34] that clip. Good to see you.

[0:35] >> Thank you so much for being here. So

[0:37] Jessica, your character does some

[0:38] evolving this season. What can you tell

[0:40] us? Um, you know, it's interesting

[0:42] because Jessica Knight has always been a

[0:44] character that has kind of been the

[0:45] heart of the boys club and she's kind of

[0:48] kept the boys together and she's had a

[0:49] little bit of a mother hen role, but

[0:51] this year she really takes that to heart

[0:53] because Zea comes in and basically tells

[0:55] her, "Please keep an eye on Michael

[0:57] Weatherly and make sure that he stays

[0:59] healthy." So now she's kind of watching

[1:00] his caloric intake and doing all these

[1:02] different things and then making sure

[1:03] that Torres doesn't dive off of the deep

[1:05] end. It's really kind of insane for her

[1:06] this year.

[1:07] >> Sounds like a lot of work.

[1:08] >> It is a lot of work. Boys are a lot of

[1:09] work. [laughter] Speaking of mother hen,

[1:11] you actually got to have one very

[1:13] special episode where you brought your

[1:15] child to set.

[1:16] >> Yes. So, not only did I bring my child

[1:18] to set this, my daughter has been going

[1:19] to set for the past several years, and

[1:21] she kind of one day randomly pitched

[1:24] herself for the show, saying, you know,

[1:25] I want to be on the show. Oh, okay. I

[1:27] can I can help my mom solve a crime.

[1:29] Okay, I can speak Mandarin. And then the

[1:31] writers went, "Oh." So sure enough,

[1:34] about two months before the episode,

[1:35] they said, "Uh, was your daughter

[1:37] serious and would you let her actually

[1:38] do it?" Because we wrote her role. And

[1:40] so she got to be a guest star on an

[1:42] episode of NCIS with me, and it was the

[1:44] most magical, wonderful experience.

[1:47] >> Mother like daughter. I love it. How old

[1:49] is she?

[1:49] >> She's seven.

[1:50] >> Oh my gosh.

[1:51] >> And she nailed it.

[1:52] >> What was it like watching her? You know,

[1:54] it was it was in between something of um

[1:57] these proud mama moments of like that's

[1:59] my baby, that's my girl doing it into

[2:01] going, "What's my line? Oh my gosh, I

[2:03] don't." [laughter] So, it was it was a

[2:05] weird bizarre mixture of trying to like

[2:07] stay on top of the game, be mom, be an

[2:09] actor, be a set mom, and then

[2:12] >> I'm going to go off the rails here.

[2:13] Given what's happening with our industry

[2:15] and AI, would you encourage her to go

[2:17] into the acting field?

[2:18] >> I think so. I mean, I feel like there's

[2:21] always going to be some iteration of the

[2:23] the fine arts, and who knows what that

[2:25] means in 20 years from now, but whatever

[2:27] it is, um, I feel like we just need to

[2:29] keep up with it and kind of try to

[2:31] figure it out before it takes over.

[2:32] >> What is the very special episode where

[2:34] we can see your daughter?

[2:35] >> Um, it is being aired on November 10th.

[2:38] >> November 10th. Mark your calendars,

[2:39] everybody. Thank you so much for joining

[2:41] us and congratulations. Thank you so

[2:42] much.
