[0:01] This is breaking news [music] from Coin

[0:04] News 6.

[0:06] >> Ken Body in the Coin News 6 newsroom and

[0:08] we're are going to go to a press

[0:09] conference given by emergency personnel

[0:11] regarding the plane crash in Hillsboro

[0:13] outside the Hillsboro Air Show.

[0:16] >> When we're all through speaking, then

[0:18] we'll be happy to field some questions

[0:20] for you. I will start out with some

[0:22] basic incident information about it. At

[0:26] 4:28 this afternoon, an airplane went

[0:29] into a house at 5598

[0:32] Northeast Harvest Street here in

[0:34] Hillsboro. Fire um engulfed that house

[0:38] immediately. It was completely

[0:41] destroyed. It was not occupied at the

[0:45] time. Four other houses have been

[0:48] affected. One sustained significant

[0:50] damage. It was occupied at the time, but

[0:54] the people were at the opposite end of

[0:55] the house and exited safely. One house

[0:58] sustained damage to the attic and the

[1:01] exterior. Fire damage, excuse me. And

[1:04] the fourth house just sustained um

[1:07] damage, fire damage out in the yard.

[1:09] Initial searches of all four houses

[1:12] indicate that there were no people in

[1:15] the houses this time. We've had one

[1:18] firefighter injury. That person has been

[1:22] transported to a local area hospital.

[1:25] Um, we do have FAA on scene and the

[1:28] National Transportation Safety Board is

[1:31] in route and I'm done with our statement

[1:34] at this time. Air show.

[1:37] >> My name is Steve Callaway, C A L L A W A

[1:40] Y. and the air show extends its

[1:44] sympathies, concerns, and prayers to all

[1:46] of those who have been impacted by this

[1:50] accident. We have um a 19-year record of

[1:54] safety. We are a safe air show and and

[1:57] and so we are obviously very very

[1:59] concerned for what's happened and our

[2:01] and our thoughts and prayers at this

[2:02] point are with all of those who have

[2:04] been impacted.

[2:06] Commander Chris Skinner with the

[2:07] Hillsboro Police Department. Uh police's

[2:10] role in this incident is going to be in

[2:11] support. Um right now our main objective

[2:14] is to give the uh fire department,

[2:16] TVF&R, Hillsboro Fire, NTSB, FAA,

[2:19] everybody involved the support that they

[2:21] need to have a nice secure location to

[2:23] be able to conduct the investigation and

[2:25] try to understand what exactly happened.

[2:27] Uh during the course of the uh the

[2:29] incident, we had a lot of resources here

[2:31] for the air show. We had lots of

[2:33] volunteers, both police, sheriff's

[2:35] office, Clackmus County, reserves,

[2:36] cadetses. We had a lot of resources that

[2:38] we were able to flood the area with. We

[2:40] were able to put up a a secure perimeter

[2:42] as far out as as 10 to 12 city blocks.

[2:46] At this point, that perimeter is still

[2:47] in place. We'll be shrinking that down

[2:49] here shortly, trying to let residents

[2:51] get back to their homes where

[2:53] applicable. Tonight we will be

[2:55] conducting on-site uh security for the

[2:57] for
