[0:01] And hopefully at that time as well, some
[0:03] reading on um after the pilots who have
[0:05] returned from the first wave at least
[0:07] and perhaps from the second as well,
[0:09] some detail from them reporting on just
[0:11] what damage they were able to inflict
[0:13] and what the state of the Iraqi arament
[0:16] uh they think is uh is now at uh but
[0:19] there is certainly activity here through
[0:20] the night. Uh it's a 24-hour watch on
[0:22] the ground here as well. Speaking of the
[0:24] ground, no US ground combat forces have
[0:27] been involved in the attack thus far. So
[0:29] far as is known, US Army Apache uh
[0:33] helicopters uh which have uh air to
[0:36] ground helicopter to ground attack
[0:38] missiles primarily designed to knock out
[0:40] tanks are reported to have been involved
[0:42] in some strikes just across the border
[0:44] into Kuwait. They don't have much range
[0:46] and uh therefore the Apache helicopters
[0:49] would be attacking with their Hellfire
[0:51] anti-tank missiles and their 30mm
[0:53] automatic cannon. The Iraqi tank
[0:56] concentrations dug in very deep with
[0:58] what Marine General Walter Boomer
[1:00] described a few days ago as what he said
[1:03] was a very effective uh Iraqi war
[1:06] engineering. Those Apache helicopters
[1:08] being attacked are the brunt of the
[1:10] attack thus far by US Air Force planes.
[1:13] if navalbased, carrierbased aircraft uh
[1:16] navy and marine have been involved. We
[1:18] do not yet know that. Although uh our
[1:21] military consultants tell us that
[1:23] probably some have been involved in the
[1:24] early going with most of the others
[1:26] being held back for the second or even
[1:29] third wave and held in reserve. Also
[1:31] part of the
