[0:00] Another big jump. The Saudis promise

[0:03] help. But we'll tell you why one big

[0:05] problem is here at home. The Midwest

[0:08] takes a beating. Tornadoes followed by

[0:10] flood. And more severe weather may be on

[0:13] the way. Also, it is the world's

[0:16] bestselling drug. But there may be a

[0:18] dangerous side effect you don't know

[0:20] about. CBS will alert you tonight.

[0:29] This is the CBS Evening News with Dan

[1:23] >> With Republicans openly complaining that

[1:26] Iraq could cost him the election,

[1:27] President Bush tonight set out to

[1:29] convince Americans he can achieve his

[1:31] goal.

[1:32] >> A free representative government that

[1:35] serves its people and fights on their

[1:38] behalf.

[1:40] And the sooner this goal is achieved,

[1:44] the sooner our job will be done.

[1:46] >> Hoping to build confidence with Iraqis,

[1:48] Mr. Bush said the US will
