[0:00] Saddam, including excerpts from a CBS
[0:03] exclusive with Secretary Pals and a look
[0:06] at what Saddam might do if pushed to the
[0:08] brink of war.
[0:17] This is the CBS Evening News
[0:20] with Dan Rather reporting tonight from
[0:23] the United Nations.
[0:26] >> Good evening. Secretary of State Coen
[0:28] Powell came here today to the United
[0:30] Nations to lay out the evidence against
[0:31] Saddam Hussein. Evidence Powell says
[0:34] proves Iraq is not disarming as required
[0:37] by the UN Security Council and is in
[0:39] fact deceiving UN inspectors. In a
[0:42] dramatic session of the Security
[0:44] Council, Secretary Powell presented what

[1:12] coverage. John,
[1:14] >> it was the Secretary of State as
[1:15] prosecutor today, Coen Powell appearing
[1:18] before a skeptical jury. Indeed, the
[1:20] facts and Iraq's behavior show that
[1:23] Sodom Hussein and his regime are
[1:25] concealing their efforts to produce more
[1:27] weapons of mass destruction.
[1:29] >> With no smoking gun, Powell was forced
[1:31] to connect a set of circumstantial dots
[1:34] for the Security Council.
[1:35] >> You will now hear an officer from
[1:37] Republican Guard headquarters issuing an
[1:40] instruction to an officer in the field.
[1:42] >> In the rarest of moments, he played
[1:44] super secre
