[0:00] Here's what's new on CBS2.com.
[0:08] >> Tonight, it's Senator John McCain's turn
[0:11] to address the convention and the nation
[0:14] as he accepts the Republican nomination
[0:16] for president of the United States.
[0:27] Campaign08,
[0:29] the Republican National Convention from
[0:32] St. Paul, Minnesota. Here is Katie
[0:35] Kurrick.
[0:36] And good evening, everyone. This night
[0:38] has been a long time coming for Senator
[0:41] John McCain. It's been 9 years since he
[0:43] announced his first run for the
[0:45] Republican presidential nomination.
[0:47] Tonight, he will claim the prize.

[1:12] base, and what will John McCain need to
[1:14] do tonight to attract those coveted
[1:17] crossover voters, independents, and
[1:19] disaffected Democrats? Bob Schaefer is
[1:22] up at the podium tonight covering his
[1:24] 21st convention. And no, Bob was not
[1:26] there when Lincoln was nominated. Not
[1:28] the first time. Anyway, hi Bob. You
[1:30] know, the the poll in the polls, Barack
[1:33] Obama and John McCain are now neck
[1:36] andneck. Barack Obama has lost his
[1:38] postconvention bounce, but the McCain
[1:41] campaign doesn't take a lot of comfort
[1:42] in that. They know they have a very
[1:44] tough fight ahead, don't they?
[1:46] >> This this campaign is g
