[19:10] life if I'd learn that lesson

[19:16] with your life if we'd learn that lesson
[19:19] completely just to be
[19:22] humble just to be a servant of
[19:26] God that where we're not looking for
[19:31] accolades you know we we don't need a
[19:33] swollen head we don't need a pat on the
[19:37] back we just serve him because he's
[19:40] worthy of service he's worthy that we
[19:43] give him everything we are and
[19:45] everything we
[19:47] have you know I I get this all the
[19:50] time people say you know brother Turner
[19:53] you're getting old well yeah I'm getting
[19:55] old I just turned 75 I I get did it and
[20:00] uh I get the question why do you just
[20:03] keep traveling you know traveling is
[20:04] hard I I've driven probably in the last
[20:08] three weeks probably 30 hours of driving
[20:12] just to get stationary and do three
[20:15] meetings and it's hard on the body but
[20:18] I'll tell you why I do it I do it
[20:21] because I want my life to count for
[20:24] God and I don't listen I don't have any
[20:27] time for nonsense
[20:30] I don't have any time for comparing
[20:32] myself with some other preacher who is
[20:34] sharper you you wouldn't have to be too
[20:36] sharp to be sharper than
[20:38] me and uh now they might have to work a
[20:42] little bit to be as handsome as I am you
[20:44] know but you
[20:46] know thank you I thank you for lying

[20:57] want to serve the Lord amen you know and

[21:42] has laid on my heart and for you to
[21:45] receive it why have a mission conference
[21:48] if we're not going to hear the word of
[21:50] God we're not if we don't plan to do
[21:53] anything with it when we do hear it and
[21:56] so okay so I'm let lecturing you a
[21:59] little bit but I'm just I I I'm I'm

[22:03] about our churches Across America that
[22:06] we've gotten into a formality and we
[22:08] have
[22:09] meetings but you know it's not it's not
[22:13] really heartfelt sometimes and uh God
[22:16] help us just to give it all amen just to
[22:19] give it all to the Lord take your Bibles
[22:22] tonight turn to 2 Corinthians chapter
[22:25] number
[22:27] 8 second Corinthians chapter number 8 we
[22:31] may have some folks come in at 7 I I
[22:34] heard the preacher's announcement and I
[22:37] still was sitting back there sipping
[22:39] coffee uh when I heard the the the piano
[22:43] begin I used to tell our church folks in
[22:46] Tampa when you hear the organ or the
[22:49] piano sweet refrain Thou shalt thy mouth
[22:53] restrain in other words I said that
[22:55] means sit down and shut up it's time to
[22:57] go to church you know and they'd all
[22:59] laugh but uh I I was the one that walked
[23:02] in a minute late I apologize for that we
[23:05] may have others who will forget and come
[23:07] in at 7:00 and if they do just pay
[23:10] attention to the pulpit and let's move
[23:12] on Amen just move on if you're able to
[23:15] stand for the reading of God's word I'm
[23:18] not going to read a long passage of
[23:22] scripture but I want to begin in 2
[23:25] Corinthians chapter number8
[23:28] and verse number one a great missionary
[23:32] passage moreover brethren we do you to
[23:37] wit of the grace of God bestowed on the
[23:42] churches of
[23:43] Macedonia how that in a great trial of
[23:47] Affliction the abundance of their joy
[23:51] and their deep poverty abounded Under
[23:55] The Riches of their
[23:57] liberality for to their power I love
[24:00] this I bear record yay and beyond their
[24:05] power they were willing of themselves
[24:09] praying us with much intreaty that we
[24:13] would receive the gift and take Upon Us
[24:15] The Fellowship of the ministering to the
[24:18] Saints now this is a financial gift it
[24:22] is
[24:23] giving and this they did not as we hope
[24:27] but first gave their own selves to the
[24:30] Lord and unto us by the will of God in
[24:34] so much that we desire Titus that as he
[24:37] had begun so he would also finish in you
[24:41] the same Grace also therefore as you
[24:45] abound in everything in faith and
[24:48] utterance and knowledge and in all
[24:52] diligence and in your love to us see
[24:55] that you abound in this Grace also
[24:59] I speak not by by commandment but by
[25:02] occasion of the forwardness of others
[25:04] and to prove the sincerity of your love
[25:08] for you know the grace of our Lord Jesus
[25:10] Christ that though he was rich yet for
[25:13] your sakes he became poor that ye
[25:16] through his poverty might be rich let's
[25:20] pray
[25:22] together and as I pray I'm encourage you
[25:25] to pray that God will minister to us
[25:28] today tonight minister to you
[25:32] tonight our father we come to
[25:35] you and we come
[25:38] humbly we come acknowledging Who You Are
[25:41] Tonight We Come acknowledging the fact
[25:44] that thou art
[25:46] holy that there are
[25:49] those that are fiery
[25:53] beasts that do nothing but fly around
[25:56] your
[25:57] throne and they cry out day and night
[26:01] holy holy
[26:03] holy because Thou Art
[26:06] Holy Father we bow our heads to you
[26:10] tonight but more than that we bow our
[26:13] hearts to you
[26:15] tonight we ask that you might cause us
[26:18] to see ourselves for who we
[26:21] are our hearts might be right with you
[26:23] and if not that we get it right with you
[26:27] and father that we might be be usable
[26:30] tonight to preach the word of God I pray
[26:33] for that power that anointing that only
[26:35] can come from the unction of thy Holy
[26:38] Spirit and I pray heavenly father that
[26:41] each listener tonight might have ears to
[26:44] hear and a heart that is receptive ready
[26:47] for the planting of the word of God I
[26:50] pray Heavenly Father you'd be honored
[26:52] and glorified in all that's said and
[26:55] done here tonight in Jesus name amen
[26:59] thank you you may be seated this Epistle
[27:02] of course is uh pinned uh to the church
[27:07] at Corinth now think with me for just a
[27:10] moment if you would and realize that the
[27:14] church at Corinth is mostly known for
[27:18] its
[27:19] carnality for its carnality but uh Paul
[27:24] here is writing to them and he is
[27:27] encouraging them to get involved in the
[27:31] grace of giving and I I like uh what he
[27:35] says to them when he says to them in
[27:38] verse 7 look therefore as you abound in
[27:41] everything so he says there they there's
[27:44] some growing going on here come on now
[27:47] he said you're abounding in everything
[27:50] so there was some growing going on and
[27:53] while that growing was going on God was
[27:57] speaking speaking to them about giving
[28:01] about giving now in as we look at this
[28:05] text the church is being challenged to
[28:08] as the Bible says here to wit of the
[28:11] grace of God in other words to uh look
[28:13] at to
[28:15] acknowledge what God has already done by
[28:19] grace in the lives of uh these
[28:23] Macedonian churches now when we talk
[28:26] about the Macedonian churches we're
[28:28] talking about churches that Paul
[28:30] established in his second uh missionary
[28:33] journey and the purpose of this uh
[28:37] examination is to see what God did in
[28:41] those churches in other words what God
[28:43] was able to do through them uh Paul is
[28:46] wanting to replicate in the Church of
[28:49] Corinth he's wanting to see them
[28:52] acknowledge the grace of God now now let
[28:56] me just say this to you tonight if God
[28:58] is going to operate by his grace and and
[29:01] what is Grace Grace is God's divine
[29:06] intervention in our life it's God doing
[29:09] in US hear me what we cannot do for
[29:12] ourselves and if God is going to work in
[29:15] us if God is going to perform his grace
[29:19] in us then we must be the right kind of
[29:22] receptical we we must be right with him
[29:26] in order for God to work in in us that's
[29:29] why it's so important that as the church
[29:32] comes together I I'm thinking about
[29:34] preaching a message from acts 13 but the
[29:37] church is together and they're they're
[29:40] singing and they're praying and they're
[29:42] fasting and they're Unity together and
[29:45] God does something powerful in that
[29:48] church and he says separate unto me
[29:51] Barnabas and Saul for the ministry where
[29:54] unto I have called them so we want want
[29:58] to be the kind of church that God can
[30:01] come down to and minister to and call
[30:05] people out of and I'm thankful for the
[30:08] young people here at this church I got
[30:10] the privilege of speaking to the uh uh
[30:14] College age group on Sunday and saw a
[30:18] good group in the teen group I know some
[30:20] the young people are students over at
[30:22] Heartland and I'm thankful that God's
[30:24] already worked in your church and called
[30:27] out some people and and they're
[30:29] ministering I I'm thankful for that
[30:31] tonight but I don't think that God does
[30:34] that and quits I believe he wants to
[30:36] continue working in our lives amen and
[30:39] so uh he says take a look at what God is
[30:42] doing uh in the church uh churches of
[30:46] Macedonia I want this to be happening
[30:49] also in your church now let me look at
[30:51] some things with you here in verse
[30:54] number two notice the these churches of
[30:57] Macedonia
[30:58] that God worked through they were in
[31:02] such a condition that only God could
[31:04] work through them amen now look look at
[31:07] this with me first of all he said how
[31:09] that in a great trial of Affliction if
[31:14] you're taking notes you might want to
[31:15] write down there Philippians chapter 1
[31:18] Philippians chapter 1 27 through 29 and
[31:23] 1 Thessalonians chap 1 verse 6 and
[31:28] chapter 2 verses 14- 15 let me give you
[31:31] those again uh we're not in a hurry are
[31:33] we here because this is good Philippians
[31:36] 1:
[31:37] 27-29 1 Thessalonians 1:6 and 1
[31:41] Thessalonians
[31:42] 24-15 and it'll give you a picture of
[31:46] the opposition that the churches of
[31:49] Macedonia uh were going through I don't
[31:52] have time to really uh expound on that
[31:54] tonight but they uh they were going
[31:56] through great person persecution there
[31:59] was great uh Affliction can I say this
[32:01] to you tonight I hear a bunch of
[32:04] Christians today moaning and groaning
[32:06] about how bad things are the reality is
[32:09] uh America still has it pretty good amen
[32:12] we can come here on Sunday no one
[32:14] standing at the door trying to keep us
[32:16] out we have freedom to worship as we
[32:19] want to worship and uh and and we don't
[32:22] have anybody beating our brains out
[32:24] because we're Christian just uh what was
[32:27] it uh maybe two weeks ago uh 30 Baptists
[32:31] were herded in Congo into a a church
[32:35] building and and
[32:37] decapitated uh for their faith we're not
[32:39] going through that amen and the the
[32:42] churches of Macedonia they were under
[32:44] persecution they they were going through
[32:46] great Affliction now but he says I want
[32:49] you to take knowledge they still did the
[32:52] right thing while they were in
[32:53] Affliction amen they they still did the
[32:56] right thing and then he says uh
[32:57] concerning them they were uh also in
[33:00] deep poverty look at verse two and their
[33:03] deep poverty this word deep uh maybe I
[33:07] could help you with this by using uh a
[33:10] colloquialism something we we say in
[33:12] Indiana uh these people were dirt poor
[33:16] you ever heard that term they were dirt
[33:19] poor these were the poorest of the
[33:22] poorest I I guess when I was a kid I
[33:25] would have been in that category but you
[33:27] you know we we just went to church loved
[33:30] Jesus had a good time didn't even know
[33:32] how poor we were amen but boy this
[33:34] church was dirt po the Bible calls it
[33:37] deep poverty I mean they were they were
[33:41] more than in the hole friend they they
[33:43] had a struggle a a survival kind of
[33:48] struggle and yet they allowed the grace
[33:51] of God to work in their life I I hear
[33:55] people all the time say well I just
[33:56] can't afford uh to do that if God tells
[33:59] you to do something you can't afford not
[34:01] to do it amen it's like by the way let
[34:04] me get this off of my chest tithing
[34:07] ought not even be a consideration for a
[34:09] child of God if you're a child of God
[34:12] that is a demand that God makes on us it
[34:16] was a demand before the law it was a
[34:18] demand during the law it was a demand
[34:20] after the law someone challenged me
[34:23] recently said you can't show me anywhere
[34:26] in the New Testament where tithing is
[34:30] the principle for the church I said
[34:32] that's not true Matthew
[34:34] 23:23 and by the way that's after Jesus
[34:37] established the church in Matthew 16 uh
[34:40] you know I believe he started the raw
[34:42] material Matthew 4 but we won't argue
[34:45] about that tonight but here's here's the
[34:47] reality uh the Lord was uh already
[34:51] engaging the church and in Matthew 23:23
[34:54] he tells them there are some things that
[34:57] uh the Jews were doing they were doing
[35:00] it according to the law and God says you
[35:04] ought to you ought to do the weigher
[35:06] matters there's no doubt about that
[35:08] there are weigher matters let me tell
[35:10] you some weigher matters having a heart
[35:13] that's pure and clean before God is a
[35:15] weightier matter amen uh having a right
[35:18] spirit I is a weighty matter have having
[35:21] a a a a mouth that is pure and clean
[35:25] that you're not uh using it for gossip
[35:27] and and for hurt and for pain those are
[35:30] all higher things but Jesus said all
[35:33] those judgment and mercy and all those
[35:36] things those ought to be the higher
[35:38] standard but not to leave the tithing
[35:41] undone so tithing is a baseline for all
[35:45] of us are we getting this tonight and
[35:47] then God says but I want you to
[35:50] participate in The Fellowship of the
[35:52] Saints now I've heard this preached by
[35:54] some preachers which said this was just
[35:56] a love offering
[35:58] in order to help some church members in
[36:00] another church that is not at all what
[36:02] is true here in fact if you study this
[36:05] out and you go on to chapter nine and
[36:09] chapter 10 you'll see that a good bit of
[36:12] this money was used for the furtherance
[36:14] of the Gospel through the Apostle Paul
[36:17] and it is clear that this is missionary
[36:20] money that is being discussed here and
[36:23] God is saying listen look at me I don't
[36:25] care how you are afflicted I don't care
[36:28] how deep your poverty is I want you to
[36:32] know you can have the other thing they
[36:34] had and that is that extreme joy that
[36:37] they had uh look at verse number two
[36:39] again he said abundance of their Joy you
[36:43] know what abundance means it means their
[36:45] cup was full and running over amen it
[36:48] was full and running over can I tell you
[36:51] this I made up my mind years and years
[36:54] ago that I was not going to live my life
[36:59] in bitterness and in Anger you know I
[37:03] I'm around so many older preachers that
[37:06] are mad because the church treated them
[37:08] bad and things didn't go right in their
[37:11] church and I've adopted for my life
[37:14] these last number of years that I'm
[37:16] going to serve my Lord and I'm going to
[37:19] finish my course and I'm going to do it
[37:22] with joy amen and so listen they had
[37:26] every reason to go around with their
[37:28] bottom lip hanging down to their knee
[37:30] and saying listen you don't know what
[37:32] we're going through and you don't
[37:35] understand we don't have anything but I
[37:37] want to tell you when you have Jesus
[37:40] Christ you have everything amen you have
[37:43] everything and God is able Amen to do
[37:48] exceeding abundantly above that which we
[37:50] ask or think hear me tonight God is only
[37:54] needing a willing vessel tonight and if
[37:57] we are willing vessels God is able to
[38:00] supply everything in our life amen he
[38:03] said take a look at what the grace of
[38:06] God can do can I summarize this doing by
[38:09] the grace of God means this I will do
[38:12] what I can do I think that's where
[38:14] tithing us at but I will let God do what
[38:18] only he can do in my life amen all right
[38:22] now so we know who they are and we know
[38:24] that God is trying to get the
[38:26] Corinthians to take on this same kind of
[38:30] life and so he says to them in chapter 8
[38:36] there and verse number six in so much
[38:39] that we Desir Titus that as he had begun
[38:43] so he would also finish in you that is
[38:46] the Corinthians the same Grace also so
[38:50] he Titus has been dispatched to the
[38:53] church to encourage them uh to be in
[38:57] involved in this grace of giving notice
[39:00] in verse 7 what he says he said
[39:02] therefore therefore as ye abound in
[39:05] everything in faith so they're growing
[39:08] in faith and utterance and they're
[39:09] growing in their ability to speak the
[39:12] word of God and knowledge and in all
[39:14] diligence and in your love to us see
[39:18] that you abound in this Grace also so
[39:22] God is saying listen I have dispatched
[39:25] Paul's saying I have dis dis patched to
[39:28] Titus to you and he is to get you to
[39:31] look at what God did in an impossible
[39:34] situation with the Macedonian churches
[39:37] and to encourage you that you can be the
[39:39] same kind of church if you want to be
[39:42] amen now let me give you three
[39:44] characteristics tonight the title of my
[39:47] message is giving beyond your power
[39:51] giving beyond your power let me give you
[39:53] three characteristics of giving beyond
[39:57] our our power number
[39:59] one these folks were
[40:02] surrendered to the will of God they were
[40:06] surrendered to the will of God look at
[40:07] verse three for to their power I bear
[40:10] record yay and beyond their power say it
[40:13] out loud church with me they were
[40:15] willing of themselves say it out loud
[40:18] with me they were willing of themselves
[40:22] they had come to that point of surrender
[40:24] you remember last night I mentioned that
[40:27] I believe probably one of the most
[40:29] mistaken things about our churches is
[40:32] that we have a lot of people who are
[40:34] saved and they are sitting in the pews
[40:37] and they are not determined to do
[40:39] anything and and they're unfaithful to
[40:41] the work of God and and they simply are
[40:45] saved and listen if somebody gets saved
[40:48] by the grace of God they're saved amen
[40:50] and I don't debate that that's God's
[40:52] business but God didn't save us to sit
[40:56] he saved us to serve amen he saved us to
[40:59] give everything we have uh to be humbled
[41:02] I beseech you therefore Brethren by the
[41:04] mercies of God there it is that grace of
[41:07] God working in you that you present your
[41:09] body as a Living Sacrifice holy
[41:12] acceptable unto God which is the best
[41:15] you can do no which is your reasonable
[41:20] service it's just reasonable for a child
[41:22] of God to give it all Amen to give it
[41:26] all they willing of themselves look at
[41:29] verse 12 for if there be first a willing
[41:33] mind it is accepted according to that a
[41:37] man hath and not according to that he
[41:40] hath not I want to just say to you
[41:42] tonight that many people miss the
[41:44] blessing of God because they don't
[41:47] simply just say God I don't understand
[41:50] it all I don't know how you're going to
[41:52] do it all but I believe that you can
[41:54] amen and I'll leave it in your hands
[41:58] listen I uh I want to just tell you I
[42:01] can stand here for the next hour and
[42:04] give you one testimony after another how
[42:07] over the last 14 and a half years of
[42:09] traveling in evangelism we've gone from
[42:12] one situation to another situation not
[42:15] knowing sometimes how we're going to
[42:17] complete the situation and God answered
[42:21] prayer amen and God took care of the
[42:23] needs of of my wife and I I wanted say
[42:27] to you there needs to be a commitment to
[42:30] be willing to do whatever God wants us
[42:33] to do I hope tonight that if you haven't
[42:35] come to that point you will I I know
[42:37] there's a progression there uh many of
[42:40] you started tithing a and you had that
[42:42] same response that others had and and it
[42:45] was kind of like this you know put the
[42:47] offering towards a plate pull it back
[42:50] put it towards your plate pull it back
[42:52] wondering can I possibly do this can I
[42:56] possibly give that time can I be sure
[42:58] God is going to take care of me can I
[43:01] ask you a question tonight are you a
[43:03] child of God if you are say Amen tonight
[43:06] if God saved your soul are you telling
[43:09] me he can save your Everlasting soul but
[43:12] he can't control your
[43:15] finances I'm just say to you tonight we
[43:18] need to be willing of ourselves Amen to
[43:21] just say Lord I'll do whatever you tell
[43:23] me to do that's why we call it Faith
[43:25] promise missions by the way
[43:27] because it's a matter of
[43:30] giving but it's a matter of promise and
[43:33] there can't be promise until there's
[43:36] faith faith says I'll ask God what to do
[43:41] then I'll promise it and if God says do
[43:44] it God is able his grace will make it
[43:49] happen does this make sense to you
[43:50] tonight so at first there be a willing
[43:53] mind number two I see not only
[43:57] that they were surrendered to the will
[43:58] of God but I see that they were growing
[44:01] in Grace we talked a little about it
[44:04] already but look at verse 7 therefore as
[44:06] you abound in everything in faith in
[44:10] utterance and in knowledge and in all
[44:13] diligence and in your love to us see
[44:15] that you abound in this Grace also can
[44:19] you look up here just a moment here's
[44:21] one of the deepest concerns I have in my
[44:23] heart is that we have a lot of baby
[44:26] Christians
[44:28] that are not growing
[44:30] up I believe Paul wrote Hebrews we can
[44:33] argue about that but I I that's what I
[44:36] believe but whoever wrote it said this
[44:39] he was talking to the judaistic
[44:42] Believers in chapter
[44:44] 5 and he said of them he said you should
[44:48] be teachers by
[44:52] now okay I'm going to say
[44:55] this what one of the biggest challenges
[44:58] I had as a
[44:59] pastor was changing spiritual
[45:04] diapers just constantly having to deal
[45:08] with baby
[45:10] stuff which
[45:12] affects the Church of
[45:16] God I used to say to our people if I
[45:19] wasn't having to deal with all the
[45:21] issues I I I was in a church uh oh I
[45:24] don't know maybe 10 years ago
[45:27] and two little girls in the church got
[45:29] into a little fight one from each
[45:34] family the girls worked it
[45:38] out until moms got
[45:44] involved and one mom said I demand that
[45:47] she apologize and if not we're leaving
[45:50] the
[45:51] church probably the greatest message I
[45:54] ever heard was a black preacher friend
[45:56] and he he preached a message on don't
[45:58] leave the
[45:59] church don't leave the
[46:01] church the church is that umbrella of
[46:04] protection that God places over you
[46:06] don't leave the
[46:09] church but that family left the
[46:13] church and again the two girls were
[46:16] crying they they'd worked everything out
[46:18] and they were crying because they didn't
[46:20] want to leave the church they didn't
[46:21] they didn't want to separate they just
[46:23] had a little fuss by the way all all of
[46:25] our families have had had fusses but we
[46:27] don't leave each other right I mean
[46:30] hopefully we
[46:31] don't hopefully we
[46:35] don't these these people were growing in
[46:39] Grace you want to solve Church problems
[46:42] you you want to get missions up front
[46:45] you you want to be able to send
[46:46] missionaries around the world every one
[46:49] of us can do that but it begins with us
[46:52] growing in Grace
[46:54] ourself by by learning what God wants us
[46:57] to learn every church I've had I had a
[46:59] Bible Institute the last church I
[47:01] pastored we had a small college and the
[47:04] whole purpose of it wasn't to compete
[47:06] with anybody it wasn't to protest
[47:08] anybody it was to train our people in
[47:11] the local church because we want little
[47:14] baby Christians to become mature
[47:16] Christians and when they become mature
[47:18] Christians they will hear what God has
[47:21] to say and it won't be a matter what
[47:23] somebody else says it'll be a matter
[47:25] about What God Says
[47:28] they were growing in Grace when you're
[47:31] growing in Grace you know what you're
[47:33] trusting God as you grow you're allowing
[47:36] God to help you see how you can grow and
[47:40] as you grow you're learning that God
[47:43] always does what he says he will do and
[47:46] God proves himself over and over and
[47:53] over I'll talk more about this another
[47:55] night
[47:57] give you some illustrations of of giving
[48:00] but man has the Lord taken care of
[48:04] us and sometimes it it's things you you
[48:08] you you you know I told you the other
[48:10] night the little song why were when you
[48:12] can pray my theme song is why Pray when
[48:15] you can worry that's my human nature
[48:17] anybody like me you just a little
[48:18] nervous sometimes Lord how's this going
[48:21] to work out every one of you just
[48:25] lied you are you just didn't want to put
[48:27] your hands up cuz you don't want to be
[48:29] as sinful as brother
[48:32] Turner but I've learned God takes care
[48:34] of of
[48:35] things amen God takes care of
[48:41] things and God has a reason for
[48:43] everything he
[48:45] does and we got to we've got to be
[48:47] growing in Grace so that we allow God as
[48:51] he has his will in faith and in
[48:54] utterance and in knowledge that he can
[48:57] then have his will in this matter of
[49:00] giving and we can trust him for that as
[49:03] well as we can trust him for other
[49:05] things in our life I wish I had time
[49:08] maybe tomorrow night I'll be able to
[49:10] give you some illustrations of how God
[49:12] has just shown himself over and over and
[49:15] over to my wife and I uh things that
[49:18] only God could have done in our life and
[49:22] we and we look back and we say we're
[49:24] glad we've learned to trust him because
[49:26] listen I thought when I pastored I knew
[49:29] how to trust God but I didn't live by
[49:31] faith I lived by
[49:33] salary now I live by faith and I've seen
[49:36] that God is able to do exceeding
[49:39] abundantly above that which I can even
[49:41] ask or
[49:42] think God's able to do that so they were
[49:46] growing in Grace the third thing I want
[49:48] you to see tonight is that these
[49:52] Believers
[49:53] acknowledged and were reminded of the
[49:56] sacrifice Liv of Christ you say what
[49:58] what does that mean well look at verse
[50:01] n for ye know the grace of our Lord
[50:04] Jesus
[50:05] Christ you know if you're saved tonight
[50:08] you know the grace of the Lord Jesus
[50:10] Christ
[50:11] amen you've been a recipient of the
[50:13] grace of the Lord Jesus Christ amen if
[50:16] you're saved tonight he has forgiven you
[50:19] by grace through
[50:21] faith what does he say here well you
[50:24] know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
[50:26] that though he was
[50:28] rich yet for your sakes he became poor
[50:32] that ye through his poverty might be
[50:35] rich look up here just a minute my dear
[50:38] friend I I wish tonight that I could get
[50:41] every one of you to routinely daily if
[50:44] you will weekly if you won't just read
[50:48] the the events of the crucifixion and
[50:51] read what Jesus did can I say to you
[50:55] tonight he was was in heaven in The
[50:57] Riches of Glory uh with his father he
[51:00] did not have to come and die for us
[51:04] listen his life wasn't taken away from
[51:07] him he laid it down on the cross of
[51:10] Calvary he was brutalized with a cat of
[51:14] nin tales and and he was drugged to a to
[51:17] a Rugged Cross and placed on that cross
[51:20] and nails in his hands and in his feet
[51:23] with his knees pushed up into his chest
[51:26] caus him to have to rub on that cross as
[51:29] he pushed up to just get a breath as he
[51:32] went through the process of affixation
[51:35] on the cross and I want to tell you the
[51:38] Lord Jesus Christ who had all the riches
[51:41] of heaven and could have called 10,000
[51:44] angels and simply wiped out the whole
[51:47] world and started over did all of that
[51:51] for
[51:54] us and because he became poor for
[52:00] us Paul is saying we ought to at
[52:04] least be able to get online with this
[52:09] matter of giving by Grace now I want to
[52:13] deal with Grace a minute and I'm
[52:15] done listen
[52:18] carefully
[52:20] so a lot of the young fellas out there I
[52:24] just I just get disgusted at all the
[52:28] blogs everybody is an expert
[52:31] today somebody said to me brother Turner
[52:33] why don't you start a
[52:35] blog well truthfully I might be able to
[52:38] do a little better than some of them
[52:40] because at least I've lived
[52:45] it I've proven
[52:49] it but the latest thing is giving should
[52:53] be by grace and by the way here's what
[52:55] they say because we have Grace you can
[52:58] do whatever you want you have
[53:01] Liberty let me tell you something the
[53:04] grace of God doesn't give you Liberty to
[53:07] sin it gives you Liberty from
[53:11] sin it rescues you from
[53:15] sin and so they say I believe in grace
[53:18] giving and I always ask this question
[53:20] well listen that's curious to me so
[53:23] you're giving by Grace can I ask you
[53:26] have have you given more by Grace than
[53:28] you gave under the
[53:30] law in other words have you given more
[53:32] than a
[53:33] tithe cuz God laid the tithe out as the
[53:36] basis but let's just say that was Old
[53:38] Testament and now we have the grace of
[53:41] God in the New Testament so are you
[53:44] giving more than you used to
[53:48] give and almost every one I'm admit to
[53:50] me well not
[53:52] really but I have the grace to give what
[53:55] I want you don't have have the grace God
[53:57] has the
[54:00] grace you are just an instrument that
[54:02] God uses when you accept his grace in
[54:05] your life don't you steal God's grace
[54:08] tonight don't You Say It's Your Grace
[54:11] it's God's grace and God wants you to be
[54:15] able to come along in this matter of
[54:17] trusting him in your giving so I say to
[54:20] him absolutely are you a Grace Giver
[54:23] brother Turner absolutely
[54:26] I give the minimum that God requires of
[54:28] me the tithe and by Grace I give a whole
[54:32] lot
[54:33] more because I found out I can trust God
[54:37] and that when he says he will bless me
[54:40] and that he will give me the provision
[54:43] to give God always keeps his word amen I
[54:49] want to challenge you
[54:51] tonight to give what you can that's the
[54:55] tithe
[54:56] by the way it's the same for
[54:58] everybody an easy standard God
[55:02] gave give what you can and then allow
[55:06] God to exercise his grace in you to give
[55:11] beyond your
[55:12] power and when that happens churches can
[55:16] do magnificent
[55:18] work sending missionaries around the
[55:21] world oh listen I'm just here to say
[55:25] tonight
[55:27] giving to God is worth
[55:29] it what a blessing I tell you this story
[55:32] and I'll be
[55:35] done many years
[55:38] ago the frown hoffers are here tonight
[55:41] they they will probably remember this
[55:43] story I preached in uh Deon
[55:48] hungry and
[55:50] uh the
[55:53] pastor missionary Pastor that was there
[55:55] was one of the young men out of our
[55:57] church in Boston My First Church Plant
[56:01] and I remember when I was getting ready
[56:04] to fly over there for the meeting he
[56:07] said to me now brother Turner I want to
[56:08] just tell you Europe is different and
[56:11] boy Europe is
[56:12] different it's just a different
[56:16] mood and church is I let me just say
[56:19] church is slow over there they're
[56:22] cautious of Americans for one thing
[56:26] and he said ' but we're going to have
[56:30] Revival and he said ' when you preach
[56:32] Revival he said I we've prepared we have
[56:35] five people ready to respond if anyone
[56:38] comes to the altar we have five people
[56:40] we've trained them well to be able to
[56:42] lead him to Christ at the altar I said
[56:44] that's good let's trust God that we'll
[56:46] have some people
[56:48] come well it's slow over here I know
[56:50] it's slow over here but God is He's
[56:53] Able I preached that Sunday
[56:56] I don't know if y all remember this
[56:58] story or not but there was a man and his
[57:01] wife and three daughters who came and
[57:05] got saved that Sunday now if you total
[57:08] that up a man and his wife and three
[57:10] daughters that's five people and they
[57:12] had trained five
[57:15] workers I'll never forget I love that
[57:18] man that got saved he he by the way he
[57:20] was the head of the Communist Party in
[57:24] deison hungry
[57:28] he got gloriously saved that Sunday
[57:30] morning I loved him for a number of
[57:32] reasons he was shorter than
[57:35] me I could actually look down at him
[57:39] something I've rarely done except the
[57:41] children you
[57:43] know he came back on Sunday night and I
[57:48] was in the lobby and he called he called
[57:51] the translator over and he asked him to
[57:53] translate and he had a little bag
[57:56] of cheese biscuits and he told me in
[58:00] Hungary they have a tradition that they
[58:03] place a biscuit at each plate in the
[58:05] family and there were he said a total of
[58:08] 13 of them that ate together uh in their
[58:12] home and he said but brother Turner
[58:17] there are 14 biscuits in this little bag
[58:20] and he said I want you to understand why
[58:23] there are 14 biscuits he said from now
[58:26] on you will be honored at our
[58:29] table we thank you for coming and we're
[58:33] so thankful that our family got saved
[58:36] this morning that we trusted Christ I
[58:39] remember him getting in the Pulpit that
[58:42] night just hadn't been just got saved
[58:45] and saying to brother
[58:48] Carney thank you for bringing the
[58:50] preacher here to preach to us can I tell
[58:54] you we have a big job
[58:56] J we we don't have time to mess around
[59:01] the coming of Our Lord is
[59:03] imminent be therefore also ready for in
[59:06] such an hour as you think not the son of
[59:08] man
[59:10] cometh and he comes in a twinkling of an
[59:12] eye we don't have time to mess around

[59:20] distractions we
[59:23] must get our hearts right
[59:27] and say God I'm willing if you'll show

[60:07] but I I'm willing to allow your grace to
[60:10] work in my life as it did in the
[60:12] churches of
[60:15] Macedonia we're just going to have a
[60:17] couple
[60:18] of verses of piano and then I think
[60:21] preacher probably will take the
[60:23] invitation and have a sing a verse but I
[60:25] I want to ask you
[60:27] tonight can you honestly say to the Lord
[60:30] right now Lord I I'll do whatever you
[60:32] lay on my
[60:34] heart I I I if you tell me I'll trust
[60:39] you and as I trust you I know that my
[60:43] faith will be
[60:45] enlarged that I'll grow in faith and in
[60:48] utterance and in
[60:50] knowledge and then love you know what he
[60:53] said too this was interesting not only
[60:55] love toward God but love toward each
[60:58] other when we're doing God's business
[61:00] our love toward each other will be what
[61:02] it ought to be when we're doing our
[61:04] business we'll lose that

[61:44] just ask the Lord what is it you want me

[61:49] figure on my heart and mind I'll do it
[61:51] by faith I'll trust you because I know
[61:54] that you can do it by your grace in my
[61:57] life may God help you tonight if you
[61:59] need to respond father I pray that
[62:02] you'll help him to come in Jesus name

[63:27] but having hope when your faith is

[63:34] preach the gospel in the regions Beyond

[64:30] they sent him home to recuperate try to
[64:32] get more fluids if he doesn't take any
[64:34] fluids in tonight they're going to take
[64:36] him back put him take him to the
[64:38] hospital and have a child specialist
[64:41] come in to try to give him a IV to get
[64:44] him some fluids so really pray tonight
[64:47] that he'll be able to keep things down
[64:48] and get some fluids in him so pray for
[64:50] little Bryson just turned three and so
[64:53] you pray for Bryson if you would a lot
[64:56] of other folks in the church been
[64:57] battling different things sicknesses and
[64:59] stuff but really pray for little Bryson
[65:01] and I his parents message just on the
[65:03] way in they'd be here but uh some of the
[65:05] other ones were sick yesterday but
[65:08] little Bryson really needs extra prayers
[65:10] let's go Lord in prayer tonight Heavenly

[65:15] you Lord we're thankful for your
[65:19] grace and for the equipping of our
[65:22] faith Lord help us all to grow up in
[65:26] you to be more mature in 2025 than we

[65:37] work that needs to be done for the cause
[65:40] of the Gospel but we got a greater God

[65:46] chooses to use us to be instruments of
