[0:00] >> A week ago, the city was bustling with
[0:02] life. Today, ghost town. The only
[0:06] traffic in in the in the city downtown
[0:08] is in all likelihood official traffic.
[0:11] Uh most businesses are closed. Uh those
[0:14] businesses that would like to open
[0:16] aren't going to have anybody come in to
[0:17] buy anything. Even basic infrastructure
[0:20] is at risk. There are thousands of city
[0:23] workers among the dead and dying.
[0:26] Without them, basic maintenance is not
[0:28] being done. Electricity, phones,
[0:31] transportation, all systems are
[0:34] beginning to break down. It doesn't
[0:36] take, you know, a large number of people
[0:38] to make things work, but it does take
[0:41] some people. And it does take a lot of
[0:43] people when things go wrong. Keep in
[0:46] mind again, the world doesn't stop
[0:48] because something like this happens.
[0:50] Water manes still break.
[0:53] Power stations still have problems.
[0:57] People are getting drunk, maybe drunker
[0:59] than usual, and are taking out telephone
[1:02] poles or electrical poles.
[1:06] >> Thursday morning sees the first real
[1:08] disturbances. Yesterday, the medical
[1:11] community made its most difficult
[1:13] decision. Antibiotics, which can at
[1:16] least fend off the disease, would only
[1:18] be given to those with a good chance of
[1:21] survival. that automatically eliminates
[1:23] most of the sick. Aside from providing
[1:26] them with basic comfort, the sick, who
[1:29] now fill emergency shelters all over the
[1:31] city are on their own. But in most
[1:34] cases, their families are unwilling to
[1:37] accept that. If we're talking about my
[1:39] family,
[1:40] >> if we're talking about my little girl or
[1:43] if we're talking about
