[0:04] Live, Kurt Ledllo, Shauna Parsons,
[0:08] meteorologist [music]
[0:09] Rod Hill, and Tim Becker sports. This is
[0:12] the 10:00 news.
[0:17] >> Good evening. More snow on the mountain
[0:19] and rainy weather around the state means
[0:21] higher water in Oregon streams and
[0:22] rivers.
[0:23] >> We have a crew returning from the coast
[0:24] right now. We'll get to them a bit
[0:25] later, but first let's get to the latest
[0:27] on tonight's flood watch and how much
[0:29] rain we'll be seeing. KPTV meteorologist
[0:31] Rod Hill joins us now from the weather
[0:32] deck. Rod,
[0:33] >> well Curt, so far the rain here in
[0:34] Portland hasn't been that big a deal,
[0:36] but it's a far different story when you
[0:37] go to the Oregon beaches and especially
[0:39] up into the coastal range where radar is
[0:41] telling us tonight in the coastal
[0:43] mountains. Already some 3 ines of rain
[0:45] has fallen and there may be a lot more
[0:47] before it starts to wind down tomorrow
[0:49] morning. So needless to stay say our
[0:51] stormfront coverage tonight does include
[0:54] a flood watch. This is basically for any
[0:57] water that runs out of the coastal
[0:59] mountains whether it be toward the
[1:01] Oregon beaches or into the western
[1:04] portion of the Wamut Valley. This flood
[1:05] watch has been posted until 4:00
[1:08] tomorrow afternoon. All total, we do
[1:10] expect 2 to 4 inches of rain in the
[1:13] Oregon uh beaches and up in the coastal
[1:15] mountains to be fairly common in some
[1:17] amounts, maybe even higher than that.
[1:20] Um, let me show you how much rain has
[1:21] fallen so far. As story is the one city
[1:23] that really catches your eye, 2.15 in uh
[1:26] only a quarter of an inch or excuse me,
[1:27] only 3/4 of an inc
