[0:00] There's a new generation of really
[0:01] powerful tools,
[0:03] >> [music]
[0:03] >> such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex,
[0:06] but there's one key thing that they
[0:07] require, which is [music] access to a
[0:10] file system. Now, you can't just really
[0:13] give them access to [music] the entire
[0:15] file system, so you have to pick and
[0:17] choose which little bits of context,
[0:19] which folders you are going to make
[0:21] available
[0:22] >> [music]
[0:22] >> to the AI. But then that raises the
[0:24] question, how are you going to organize
[0:27] that file [music] system? What is the
[0:28] hierarchy that makes sense? Well, I've
[0:31] been using my PARA method for more than
[0:34] a decade now. I have a best-selling book
[0:36] that sold tens of thousands of copies,
[0:38] so I thought, why don't I give my PARA
[0:41] method a try?
[0:46] The last 2 [music] weeks have been
[0:47] crazy. I was traveling. We have a new
[0:50] baby on the way. Both my work life and
[0:52] my personal life are a complete circus.
[0:55] So, the first thing to fall through the
[0:57] cracks, I'm sure that the same is true
[0:58] with you as well, is organizing my files
[1:00] and folders. That's the last thing on my
[1:03] priority list. What you see here on my
[1:06] computer desktop is sort of a random
[1:09] collection of things that have piled up
[1:12] over the last 2 weeks. We have
[1:13] everything from screenshots from
[1:16] websites to PDFs to markdown files,
[1:20] Excel spreadsheets, financial statements
[1:23] to even a a compressed zip file. This is
[1:26] a really wide range of content that has
[1:29] to do with many different aspects of
[1:30] both my work and life. I've gone ahead
[1:33] and opened up the Claude app. This is
[1:36] the desktop app for
