[0:01] In the spirit of the Northwest, happy
[0:03] holidays from Channel 2.
[0:06] [Music]
[0:09] Troubling new complaints about commuter
[0:11] plane safety from some of the pilots who
[0:13] fly them. A firebomb goes off in a
[0:15] crowded New York City subway. And the
[0:18] tale of the tapes inside the Oval Office
[0:21] with President Kennedy during the Cuban
[0:23] Missile Crisis.
[0:27] From ABC, this is World News Tonight
[0:30] with Peter Jennings. Sitting in

[1:12] plane's operating manual but denied
[1:14] pilots requests for additional training.
[1:17] It occurred to me very soon after I
[1:19] started flying with the new manual that
[1:21] these passengers are guinea pigs sitting
[1:23] there in the back. I don't know if these
[1:25] procedures work or not.
[1:27] >> These three pilots, who asked that they
[1:29] not be identified for fear they will be
[1:31] fired, say the new manual changed what
[1:34] to do in dozens of emergency situations.
[1:37] The company says the changes were
