[0:00] on your side.

[0:07] Tel Aviv tonight in the aftermath of

[0:10] several Iraqi missiles, Scud missiles

[0:12] hitting that city

[0:24] and Baghdad last night as one of the

[0:27] most intensive aerial bombardments in

[0:30] history took place.

[0:54] This is ABC News Night Line

[0:58] reporting from Washington with the

[1:00] latest on the Gulf War. Ted CPP.

[1:03] >> Good evening. It has been an incredible

[1:05] day again. After a morning of euphoria,

[1:07] this evening things suddenly turned sour

[1:09] when the word came out of Israel that

[1:11] apparently some Iraqi Scud missiles had

[1:14] struck not only Tel Aviv, but also Hifa.

[1:17] The early reports out of Israel suggest

[1:19] that the casualties have been

[1:20] miraculously low. Initial reports

[1:30] together not only this evening story but

[1:32] also some of the political repercussions

[1:34] that may flow out of an Israeli reaction

[1:37] if indeed there is one. At this hour we

[1:39] do not know if the Israelis have reacted

[1:41] militarily. Uh and also we will discuss

[1:44] what will happen throughout the region

[1:46] whether or not there is a reaction as

[1:48] all of this goes on. the American

[1:50] bombardment, the British bombardment,

[1:52] the Saudi bombardment, air sorties

[1:54] continue to flow out of eastern Saudi

[1:56] Arabia against Iraq and against occupied

[1:59] Kuwait. We're going to begin, however,

[2:01] by first taking a look back at what has

[2:03] happened this evening. Beginning with

[2:06] what happened during World News Tonight

[2:08] with Peter Jennings.

[2:10] >> It is just a little
