[0:00] about cheating on your taxes. How the
[0:02] IRS is cracking down on a whole new way
[0:06] of not paying up. And Longot, a horse no
[0:10] one thought could win. A woman facing
[0:13] incredible odds. Both now in the winter
[0:15] circle.
[0:19] From NBC News World Headquarters in New
[0:22] York, this is NBC Nightly News with Tom
[0:25] Bro. Good evening. There may be some
[0:29] late and encouraging news tonight on the
[0:31] 24 Americans being held by the Chinese.
[0:34] President Bush today spoke out at once
[0:36] carefully and forcefully on that
[0:38] standoff with China over the 24 and the
[0:40] US spy plane. The president openly
[0:43] expressed regret over the missing
[0:45] Chinese pilot. The same words used
[0:47] yesterday by Secretary of State Powell.
[0:50] NBC's Jim Klashesky tonight at the
[0:52] Pentagon. David Gregory at the White

[1:09] a second meeting, is likely tomorrow.
[1:12] Still, no one expects their release is
[1:16] imminent. His first public remarks on
[1:18] the standoff in nearly 48 hours. The
[1:20] president today echoes others in the
[1:22] administration by expressing regret for
[1:24] the missing Chinese pilot, but again
[1:27] warns China that the 24 crew members
[1:29] quote need to come home. My intention is
[1:32] to make sure we do have good
[1:34] relations, but the Chinese have got to
[1:37] act and uh I hope they do so.
