[0:01] Foster, the official report on the
[0:03] suicide of the president's friend.
[0:05] GM hits another big bump, a huge recall
[0:08] of its Saturn cars.
[0:10] And the religious right in Colorado,
[0:11] Pope John Paul's destination.
[0:14] This is NBC Nightly News with Tom
[0:16] Brokaw.
[0:18] >> Good evening.
[0:19] When President Clinton's friend Vince
[0:21] Foster, the number two man on the
[0:22] president's legal staff, committed
[0:24] suicide last month, the White House was

[1:07] which Foster was part of, he says no one
[1:09] in the White House had any intent to
[1:11] benefit any individual or group. But
[1:13] then, still apparently referring to the
[1:15] Travel Office issue, he says the FBI
[1:17] lied in its report to the Attorney
[1:19] General. And a point never raised in the
[1:21] FBI's Travel Office investigation,
[1:24] Foster says the press is covering up
[1:26] illegal benefits from the travel staff.
