[0:01] The Americans come home, but the
[0:03] tension's not over. As the freed Navy
[0:05] plane crew returns from China to a
[0:08] hero's welcome, the plane is still
[0:10] there, and the president lashes out at
[0:12] China for damaging relations. A major US
[0:15] city shut tight tonight. A curfew after
[0:19] days of unrest. And eye on America, a
[0:22] killer's final hours. The government's
[0:24] plan for executing mass murderer Tim
[0:27] McVey.

[0:33] This is the CBS Evening News with Dan
[0:36] Rather reporting from CBS News
[0:39] headquarters in New York. Good evening.
[0:42] US Combat Reconnaissance Crew 1 is back
[0:44] on US soil tonight, a day after China
[0:47] released them. But President Bush made
[0:49] it clear he believes the Chinese
[0:51] decision to hold them for 11 days has

[1:06] couple of days to be debraced about the
[1:08] collision of their reconnaissance plane
[1:10] with a Chinese fighter jet, the
[1:12] emergency landing on Hainan Island, and
[1:15] their treatment by their Chinese
[1:16] captives. The president promises they'll
[1:18] be home with their families by Easter
[1:20] Sunday. And in a message to Beijing, Mr.
[1:23] Bush said the US crew had done nothing
[1:25] wrong.
[1:26] From all the evidence we have
[1:29] seen, the United States aircraft was
[1:31] operating in international airspace in
[1:34] full accordance with all laws,
[1:37] procedures, and
[1:39] regulations and did nothing to cause the
[1:42] accident. CBS has in-depth coverage
[1:45] tonight of the homecoming and America's
[1:47] tro
