[11:50] been in the gym having fried chicken

[11:53] today but that didn't happen and so

[11:55] we're sad about that but we are thankful

[11:57] for the opportunity to gather together

[11:59] and worship the Lord and whether it's

[12:01] there at your house or here in the

[12:03] church property we are so thankful for

[12:05] that and want to encourage you to be

[12:07] careful

[12:08] reading prayer for those that are sick

[12:09] those that are elderly and having issues

[12:12] being prayer for them and those we need

[12:14] their prayers they need ours to be

[12:16] praying for them I encourage you to tune

[12:18] in this next week to our words of

[12:21] encouragement each day Monday through

[12:22] Friday we'll be releasing new content we

[12:26] have some guest speakers this week so I

[12:28] encourage you to tune into those and

[19:56] support we still have bills that need to

[20:08] church but we're so thankful for those

[20:10] who called me yesterday say pastor I've

[20:12] got my tithe check and I drop it off and

[20:14] I was very thankful for their

[20:15] faithfulness to the Lord

[20:17] Exodus chapter 17 if you've got your

[20:20] place there stand with me if you would

[20:22] as we read from the Word of God today

[20:24] and excited about what God has in store

[20:28] this morning Exodus chapter 17 verse

[20:31] number 1 the Bible says and all the

[20:33] congregation of the children of Israel

[20:35] journeyed from the wilderness of sin

[20:37] after their journeys according to the

[20:40] commandment of the Lord and pitched and

[20:43] reffered him and there was no water for

[20:46] the people to drink wherefore the people

[20:49] did chide with Moses and said give us

[20:52] water that we may drink and Moses said

[20:55] unto them why Choji with me wherefore do

[20:58] you tempt the Lord and the people

[21:01] thirsted for water and the people

[21:03] murmured against Moses and said

[21:05] wherefore is it that thou has brought us

[21:09] up out of Egypt to kill us and our

[21:11] children and our cattle with thirst and

[21:14] Moses cried in the Lord saying what

[21:17] shall I do unto this people they be

[21:19] almost ready to stone me the Lord said

[21:22] unto Moses go on before the people and

[21:25] take with thee of the elders of Israel

[21:27] and thy rod wherewith thou motus the

[21:30] river taking thine hand and go behold I

[21:33] will stand before thee there upon the

[21:36] rock in Horeb and thou shalt smite the

[21:38] rock and there shall come water out of

[21:40] him that the people may drink and Moses

[21:43] did also in the sight of the elders of

[21:45] Israel and he called the name of the

[21:47] place masa and Meribah because of the

[21:50] chiding of the children of Israel

[21:52] because they tempted the Lord saying is

[21:55] the Lord among us or not here the nation

[21:59] of Israel they've had this journey and

[22:01] then come to this place and we're going

[22:03] to look at it here in just a few moments

[22:05] but it's so interesting how people and

[22:08] even the nation of Israel God's chosen

[22:10] people can get upset with the

[22:13] circumstances of life let's go Lord in

[22:16] prayer this morning their heavenly

[22:17] Father lord I thank you for the

[22:19] opportunity to preach your word this

[22:21] morning Lord I pray if you would please

[22:23] cleanse me of sin you didn't see me

[22:25] yourself that I may get out of the way

[22:27] this morning and your word may go forth

[22:28] would I pray that you speak to our

[22:30] hearts challenge us from your word would

[22:33] I pray everyone watching online today

[22:35] will fully engage in the message they'll

[22:37] not just be watching it but they'll

[22:39] engage they'll listen to the Word of God

[22:41] maybe even during the invitation time

[22:44] they'll bow their head and do business

[22:46] with you what I pray that you'd be with

[22:48] us this morning wherever we may be in

[22:51] your name I pray amen thank you for

[22:53] standing you may be seated this morning

[22:56] as we look at Exodus chapter 17 we've

[22:58] got to remind ourselves of how the

[23:00] people got here this morning they got

[23:03] here this morning because they've

[23:04] journeyed out of Egypt they've journeyed

[23:08] out of Egypt Moses has led them now on

[23:11] their journey there's been some steps

[23:13] that they've taken if you'll go back to

[23:16] Exodus

[23:17] 2:13 I want to highlight a few steps

[23:19] this morning Exodus chapter number 13 if

[23:25] you would please in verse number 17

[23:27] pages are sticking together this morning

[23:30] Exodus 13 verse number 17 and it came to

[23:36] pass when the Pharaoh had let the people

[23:37] go that God led them not through the way

[23:41] of the land of the Philistines although

[23:43] that was near for God said lest

[23:46] peradventure the people repent when they

[23:48] see war and they return to Egypt but God

[23:52] led the people about through the way of

[23:54] the wilderness of the Red Sea that the

[23:56] children of Israel went up harness out

[23:58] of the land of Egypt

[24:00] so this journey that they're taking God

[24:04] set the course God determined the

[24:07] direction that they were going to go God

[24:08] set the path for which way they were

[24:11] going to head and so this journey that

[24:13] they've had in Chapter 17 from the

[24:16] wilderness of sin to rhythm is a one-two

[24:18] three day journey depending on which

[24:20] route that they took now as they've come

[24:22] to this place we discover this that God

[24:26] has led them down this path this is the

[24:30] path that God had chosen for them it's

[24:32] not the way that they wanted to go it's

[24:34] not the easiest way it's not the nearest

[24:38] way but it was God's Way and so they've

[24:41] gone down the path that God leaves so

[24:43] God set the path for the nation of

[24:46] Israel not only did you find that God

[24:48] set the path if you turn over in chapter

[24:50] 13 to verse number 21 we find this truth

[24:54] and the Lord went before them by day in

[24:57] a pillar of cloud to lead them by the

[25:00] way and by night in a pillar of fire to

[25:04] give them light to go by day and night

[25:06] he took not away the pillar of cloud by

[25:09] day nor the pillar of fire by night from

[25:12] before the people so not only is God

[25:15] leading down a path but we see that

[25:18] God's presence is always with him they

[25:21] woke up in the morning and there was a

[25:23] pillar of cloud above them and a pillar

[25:25] of fire so on their journey God has

[25:28] provided not

[25:29] only the path but God's presence is very

[25:32] real for the nation of Israel not only

[25:35] is this presence real he's provided

[25:37] provision if you go over to chapter 16

[25:40] and verse number 35 chapter 16 and verse

[25:44] number 35 we find this truth in verse 16

[25:49] chapter 16 verse 35 the children of

[25:51] Israel did eat manna forty years until

[25:54] they came to a land inhabited they did

[25:57] eat manna until they came into the

[25:58] borders of the land of Canaan so we find

[26:01] here in chapter 16 God's provision they

[26:05] had no food in the wilderness so God

[26:07] rain down manna from heaven those of you

[26:10] that have been around Bible Baptist

[26:11] Church for a while you know this truth

[26:13] that we've talked about manna it was a

[26:15] bread that fell it was a sweet tasting

[26:17] bread so we've compared it to Krispy

[26:19] Kreme Doughnuts Amen when the blue

[26:21] lights on you know it's good amen and so

[26:24] it's time to go get you some fresh hot

[26:26] Krispy Kreme and we find here that God's

[26:28] provision he rained down provision manna

[26:31] from heaven not only in that but in

[26:33] chapter 15 we find that they came to a

[26:36] place there was no water and God well a

[26:39] place that there was water but it was

[26:40] bitter it was called Mara in chapter 15

[26:43] verses 23 through 26 let's stop go back

[26:46] there if you would please the chapter 15

[26:49] verses 23 and 26 the Bible says and when

[26:55] they came to Mara they could not drink

[26:58] of the waters of Mara for they were

[27:00] bitter therefore the name of it was

[27:02] called Mara and the people murmured

[27:05] against Moses saying what shall we drink

[27:07] so verse 27 they verse 26 scuse me and

[27:11] said if thou wilt diligently hearken to

[27:13] the voice of the LORD thy God and will

[27:15] do that which is right in his side and

[27:16] will give ear to His commandments and

[27:18] keep all the statutes I will put none of

[27:20] these diseases upon thee which I brought

[27:22] up from the Egyptians for I am the Lord

[27:23] that healeth thee and we know what God

[27:26] did God told Moses verse 25 we skipped

[27:30] that verse he cried the Lord and Lord

[27:31] showed him a tree which when he cast it

[27:34] in the waters the waters were made sweet

[27:36] there he made an ordinance a statute in

[27:39] ordinance and there

[27:40] of them so they arrived in Mara there's

[27:43] some bitter water and God provides some

[27:46] sweetness there they cashed a tree into

[27:48] the water that made it sweet but if they

[27:50] would have hung on they started

[27:53] complaining they started complaining

[27:56] about the bitter waters but if they'd

[27:58] awaited to verse 27 and they came to

[28:02] Mayor of Elam where twelve wells of

[28:05] water and threescore and ten palm trees

[28:08] and they in Kent there by the waters

[28:11] they got discouraged along the way

[28:14] because their first stop had bitter

[28:16] water but God has something better for

[28:19] them along the way

[28:20] so God's provided manna God has provided

[28:23] water we get to chapter 17 they've

[28:26] already experienced all of these things

[28:29] they've already experienced God's path

[28:33] that he's led them on they've already

[28:34] experienced his presence they've already

[28:37] experienced his provision and so they've

[28:40] journeyed in Chapter 17 from the

[28:43] wilderness of sin to rhythm now they've

[28:46] arrived they've arrived at the

[28:49] wilderness and here we go there's no

[28:52] water to drink

[28:53] oh no what we going to do there's no

[28:58] water to drink you would think that

[29:00] their first response would be to cry out

[29:03] to the Lord because he's already done it

[29:06] he's already provided water but no

[29:10] that's not what they do

[29:11] they tried with Moses they're upset with

[29:14] Moses they say give us water that we may

[29:19] drink Moses couldn't provide the water

[29:21] God provided the water man can't do what

[29:25] God can do so they're upset they begin

[29:29] to chide with Moses and they're upset

[29:31] because they're thirsty they said to

[29:35] Moses in verse 3 that thou thou brought

[29:39] us up out of agent now they're mad at

[29:41] Moses saying Moses this your fault we're

[29:42] gonna die in the wilderness you brought

[29:45] us out he didn't bring him out who

[29:46] brought him out God brought him out it

[29:49] was God leading the way it was God who

[29:51] set the

[29:52] path you brought us out here to die our

[29:55] children

[29:55] Moses is upset because they're about

[29:58] ready to stone him now let's stop for

[30:00] just a minute let's remind ourselves of

[30:02] what just happened the nation of Israel

[30:05] got up and they journeyed one two three

[30:08] of the last days and in this journey

[30:11] every morning they'd walk out of their

[30:14] tent and manna was on the ground every

[30:18] morning they'd walk out and Krispy Kreme

[30:22] Doughnuts

[30:23] had fallen from the sky and they could

[30:26] eat them every morning every morning

[30:28] every morning on their journey God

[30:32] provided food they walked out and got it

[30:35] provided water

[30:36] they walked out into the hot desert and

[30:40] over probably close to 2 million people

[30:43] there's a large cloud over the top of

[30:48] there providing shade and cooling the

[30:53] day in the desert and it represents

[30:57] God's presence so they walk out double

[31:01] nuts on the ground manna on the ground

[31:04] walk out in the shade of the pillar of

[31:07] cloud and when they went to bed at night

[31:10] and the wind started howling in the

[31:12] desert there was this pillar of fire

[31:16] over 2 million people approximately a

[31:20] pillar of fire keeping a warm at night

[31:23] are you listening this morning God's

[31:26] provided some things for them some of

[31:29] their children still had manna crumbs on

[31:32] their face when they're complaining to

[31:34] God are you listening they had manna

[31:36] crumbs on their face they still were in

[31:39] the shade of the presence of God but yet

[31:42] they're complaining it they're whining

[31:45] they're upset so what does God do he has

[31:52] a Moses strike a rock water comes out

[31:56] why

[31:58] because they question is the Lord among

[32:01] us or is he not is the Lord among us or

[32:06] is he not see the nation of Israel got

[32:10] their eyes off the pillar of cloud got

[32:13] their eyes off the Lord and put it on

[32:15] their circumstances put it on their

[32:17] surroundings put on what they did not

[32:20] have and got upset with God how often we

[32:25] didn't do the very same thing get our

[32:29] eyes off the Lord and get them on the

[32:31] circumstances of life and find ourselves

[32:34] upset frustrated discouraged downhearted

[32:40] you say well that was the nation of

[32:42] Israel well let me tell you about a man

[32:44] in the book of John chapter number 21

[32:46] his name's Peter and Peters told by God

[32:50] that he's going to live a long life and

[32:54] he's going to serve the Lord and God's

[32:57] got a plan for him and immediately after

[33:01] Christ tells Peter what Peters going to

[33:03] do with the rest of his life Peter

[33:05] should have said thank you Lord I'm

[33:08] excited to serve you but no Peters

[33:12] response in John 21 and what's he's

[33:15] gonna do we find in the tents he points

[33:18] he mentions John what's John gonna do

[33:21] and Jesus says this just wonderful he

[33:24] says what is that to thee follow thou me

[33:29] what is that to thee follow thou me in

[33:33] other words don't get your eyes on

[33:35] anybody else don't get your eyes looking

[33:38] at anybody else keep your eyes on me and

[33:41] what I'm told you to do don't get caught

[33:44] up with the things around you follow me

[33:47] keep your eyes on the Lord the nation of

[33:52] Israel here show us that God's ways are

[33:58] not our ways his thoughts are not our

[34:01] thoughts now we fast forward to 2020 and

[34:05] what has God been doing well if you're a

[34:09] Christian I pray

[34:11] that God's been leading your life every

[34:12] day hey man now be a good time to

[34:16] comment amen in the comments Amen that

[34:19] God's been leading your life every day

[34:21] you've been following the path that God

[34:23] set for you you haven't been going your

[34:25] own way I wonder with a crowd that large

[34:29] and there were some people on the

[34:33] outskirts on the edge of the cloud now

[34:39] the pillar of God resided over the

[34:41] nation of Israel and in the midst of the

[34:43] congregation was the tabernacle where

[34:46] they worshiped God and they would set

[34:51] the tabernacle in the middle and then

[34:52] they go out by tribes from there some

[34:57] people were on the outside right at the

[35:01] edge of where the shade sometimes in our

[35:14] life the path that we choose is not the

[35:17] path God has for us sometimes the path

[35:20] that God lays before us as we solve the

[35:23] nation of Israel is not the easy way he

[35:27] said I could have taken in the shorter

[35:28] route but I didn't want to take them

[35:30] that way God had a different plan and

[35:33] God led him in a different way so

[35:36] sometimes in our life we're going to go

[35:38] through things that aren't easy being a

[35:41] Christian sometimes as Christians we're

[35:44] going to face circumstances that we

[35:46] weren't prepared to face but he was

[35:49] solar reminds you of a few things this

[35:52] morning number one this morning God is

[35:55] leading God is leading just as he did

[36:00] the nation of Israel God was leading

[36:01] them and he led them by setting a path

[36:05] for their life and every single person

[36:07] in the room and every single person

[36:08] watching online God has a path for you a

[36:12] path for you to take a path that he

[36:15] wants you to follow a path that he has

[36:17] for you and you got to find it

[36:19] now it's not like an Easter egg hunt

[36:21] that God hid it from you said all right

[36:23] you go find it is it over here is it

[36:27] over there I can't find it

[36:30] God where's your pad no no it's clearly

[36:32] outlined for us and the Word of God

[36:35] trusted the Lord with all thine heart

[36:37] lean on another own understandings and

[36:39] all thy ways acknowledge him and he

[36:40] shall direct thy paths it's laid out in

[36:44] the word so all you and I have to do is

[36:47] follow his leadership he sent the path

[36:51] but I'm so thankful not only did he set

[36:54] the path but his presence is ever with

[36:58] us no matter what you're facing God is

[37:03] with you he hasn't forsaken you he

[37:07] hasn't left you you may be on your last

[37:10] roll of toilet paper at home but God's

[37:12] still with you he still knows what

[37:16] you're facing he still knows what you're

[37:18] doing God's presence is ever with us no

[37:21] matter what we face he is with us he

[37:24] said I'll never leave thee nor forsake

[37:27] you you ought to go home happy today you

[37:32] ought to be happy on your couch right

[37:33] now that God's presence is with you that

[37:37] God is with you in his word I want to

[37:40] remind you this morning not only of his

[37:43] presence but his provision the nation of

[37:46] Israel manna everything the nation of

[37:49] its real water from the rock bitter

[37:52] waters made sweet pools of water

[37:55] prepared for them exactly when they

[37:57] needed it God provided it he'll do the

[38:01] same thing for you and I I've never go

[38:04] into the store a few weeks ago I've been

[38:07] to three stores and I thought oh no

[38:10] haven't found any toilet paper yet what

[38:13] am I going to do and I went in the very

[38:16] next store in the very next store had

[38:19] two packages of toilet paper to fork out

[38:22] packages and I was thinking to myself

[38:25] thank the Lord he provided now so you

[38:29] say well pastor you were just lucky they

[38:30] hadn't sold out no no luck had nothing

[38:32] to do with it

[38:33] it was God's provision it was God who

[38:36] directed me to the store and that

[38:37] certain time where he'd be right there

[38:40] some of us forget God's still in charge

[38:43] the virus didn't catch him by surprise

[42:46] step with God you'll find yourself in

[42:49] places you thought you never go doing

[42:52] things you thought you would never do

[42:55] the title of the message today if God is

[42:58] leading what's the problem if God is

[43:06] leading us through this time he's got

[43:09] the path his presence is with us his

[43:12] provision is clear all we need to do is

[43:15] keep our eyes on him and not get on the
