[0:49] In the top of the news this morning,

[0:51] Mikhail Gorbachev spoke to the Russian

[0:53] Parliament this morning, appearing with

[0:54] Boris Yeltsin for the first time since

[0:56] the failed coup. Gorbachev announced

[0:59] what amounts to a coalition government,

[1:01] the replacement of important government

[1:02] officials with Yeltsin supporters. When

[1:05] Gorbachev thanked Yeltsin for his

[1:06] support during the coup, he got a

[1:08] standing ovation. But there was some

[1:10] heckling during a speech in which he

[1:12] appealed for everyone to resist

[1:14] anti-communist hysteria. One of the men

[1:16] Gorbachev fired this morning was his

[1:19] former foreign minister, Alexander

[1:21] Bessmertnykh.
