[0:11] >> Good evening. It's the murder trial of
[0:13] the century, but you may not be able to
[0:14] see it on television.
[0:16] >> The judge in the OJ Simpson case is so
[0:18] angry at one local television station,
[0:21] he's threatening to pull the plug on all
[0:23] cameras and microphones in the
[0:25] courtroom. He says incorrect news
[0:27] reports are jeopardizing the chances for
[0:29] a fair trial. CBS News correspondent
[0:31] Bill Whitaker is in Los Angeles covering
[0:33] today's pre-trial hearing.
[0:36] >> Erroneous.
[0:37] >> Judge Lancito looked calm but was
[0:39] living. He earlier scolded the media for
[0:41] what he called irresponsible behavior,
[0:44] erroneous reports on evidence. Today he
[0:47] threatened to throw the press out of the
[0:48] courtroom.
[0:49] >> It impacts upon Mr. Simpson's right to a
[0:52] fair trial.
[0:54] It has the impact of polluting the jury
[0:57] pool
[0:58] because it is evidence that is not
[1:01] evidence and it is detrimental to Mr.
[1:04] Simpson's right to a fair trial and is
[1:06] fundamentally unfair.
[1:08] >> The specific target of Itto's was Los
[1:10] Angeles TV station KNBC.
[1:13] It was the first to report that blood on
[1:15] Simpson's sock matched Nicole Simpsons.
[1:17] And last night, after the judge's
[1:19] admonition, reported the story again in
[1:22] greater detail.
[1:23] >> That the blood drops found on the pair
[1:25] of socks recovered from Simpsons estate,
[1:27] have been tested by a DNA lab, not once,
[1:30] but twice.
[1:31] >> Attorneys on both sides said they were
[1:33] outraged, too. Judgeto said he'll hold a
[1:36] hearing next week on whether to ban KBC
[1:38] from the courthouse and maybe even yank
