[0:01] I'm Katie Couric. Tonight, reaction to
[0:03] the Virginia Tech shooter video from his
[0:05] classmates.
[0:06] He's just a madman.
[0:07] And roommates.
[0:09] It's pretty scary that he was right
[0:11] outside my room taping those videos with
[0:13] guns when I was inside.
[0:16] Attorney General Gonzales under fire and
[0:18] under oath about the firing of US
[0:21] attorneys.
[0:22] I regret how they were treated
[0:24] and I apologize to them and to their
[0:25] families.
[0:26] And new evidence of a connection between
[0:29] hormone replacement therapy and breast

[0:37] This is the CBS Evening News with Katie

[1:08] our justice correspondent Bob Orr.
[1:11] The graphic videotape and sadistic
[1:13] snapshots only reinforce what
[1:15] investigators already knew. Virginia
[1:17] Tech killer Seung-Hui Cho was a deranged
[1:20] loner intent on exacting revenge for his
[1:22] own feelings of isolation.
[1:25] But sources say Cho's hate-filled
[1:26] manifesto has provided little useful
[1:28] evidence.
[1:29] Rambling diatribes sent to NBC News, Cho
[1:32] sought to justify his plans for mass
[1:34] murder.
[1:35] He forced me into a corner and gave me
[1:37] only one option.
[1:39] Blaming everyone but himself for the
[1:41] killings.
[1:42] Today, investigators c
