[0:55] okay it's hard to believe we're in week

[0:57] number 19

[0:59] revelation chapter 11 today and we're

[1:02] going to be looking at the beginning of

[1:03] this chapter it's going to be a

[1:05] multiple part session getting through

[1:07] chapter 11.

[1:08] and so we're looking forward to getting

[1:10] into that today

[1:12] revelation chapter 11 verse number one

[1:14] the bible says and there was given me

[1:16] a reed likened to a rod

[1:20] and the angel stood saying rise and

[1:22] measure the temple of god

[1:24] and the altar and them that worship

[1:26] therein

[1:28] but the court which is without the

[1:29] temple leave out

[1:31] and measure it not for it is given unto

[1:34] the gentiles

[1:35] and the holy city shall they tread under

[1:38] foot

[1:39] and two months as you look at this

[1:43] section of scripture today there's a lot

[1:46] of words that jump out now remember from

[1:48] chapter 10 there's an angel a mighty

[1:52] angel and we know him to

[1:54] be jesus christ and we'll mention that

[1:56] later in the video

[1:57] that confirmation verse that's found

[2:00] there

[2:00] in verse number three but the angel now

[2:04] gives

[2:05] john a reed now you say what's a reed is

[2:09] that a bamboo pole well kind of

[2:11] uh you know today we have those

[2:14] measuring tapes that

[2:16] open up and you can measure something

[2:18] the width the length the height

[2:20] of it and so during john's day the reed

[2:24] was the measuring tape of his day

[2:27] the measuring reed now most measuring

[2:29] reeds according to

[2:31] the studies we've been able to find are

[2:33] approximately 12 and a half

[2:35] feet long so it's a longer

[2:38] pole but it's 12 and a half feet and so

[2:42] he gives him a reed now the reed is

[2:44] likened to a rod so it's not just

[2:47] measuring the length or the width

[2:50] but it also has a purpose in its

[2:53] measuring the rod

[2:55] being an instrument of chastening so the

[2:58] measuring

[2:59] is not so that god would have the

[3:02] dimensions

[3:03] of the temple but that in the measuring

[3:06] there is this

[3:07] message of chastening and judgment

[3:11] so he's got the rod and he's to measure

[3:14] it

[3:15] and he tells them to rise and measure

[3:17] the temple of god

[3:19] now you and i got to remember something

[3:22] important here

[3:23] the book of revelations written right

[3:25] around 95

[3:26] a.d and in 70 a.d

[3:30] the temple was destroyed well one of the

[3:33] temples i'll mention more about that

[3:35] here in just a moment

[3:37] but in 70 a.d the temple that john would

[3:39] have been worshiping in

[3:41] the herod's temple had been destroyed

[3:44] and so it's been almost 25 years there's

[3:47] been no

[3:48] temple so this is a different temple

[3:51] in fact in scripture there's five

[3:53] temples recorded the first one is

[3:55] solomon's temple

[3:57] we find that in first kings chapter five

[3:59] through eight

[4:00] now solomon's temple is destroyed by

[4:03] babylon

[4:05] through the minute the kingship of

[4:07] nebuchadnezzar in 583

[4:09] bc so solomon's temple wiped out

[4:12] destroyed the second temple is what we

[4:15] call zerubbabel's temple

[4:17] that's in haggai chapter one and two

[4:19] ezra chapter three

[4:21] and chapter four reverse number 13

[4:24] also ezra 6 1-22 that was the second

[4:28] temple zerubbabel's temple now that was

[4:30] destroyed by antiochus epiphanes in 168

[4:34] bc so in 168 bc the second temple the

[4:38] temple restoration that happened

[4:40] zerubbabel's temple was destroyed now a

[4:42] third temple was built

[4:44] and this would have been the temple that

[4:46] was there in place when jesus walked

[4:48] upon the earth it's called herod's

[4:50] temple

[4:51] and we find it in john chapter 2 verses

[4:53] 19-20

[4:54] matthew chapter 24. now

[4:58] herod's temple as i mentioned was

[5:00] destroyed in

[5:01] a.d 70. and so right now there's no

[5:05] temple in fact if you go

[5:06] to jerusalem today where the temple

[5:09] would be there

[5:10] is the dome of the rock where the muslim

[5:12] countries have

[5:13] built their facility to worship

[5:18] their god and so there's a conflict

[5:21] there one of the most battlest areas

[5:24] that are there in israel is the battle

[5:27] around the dome of the rock and so

[5:29] uh the tribulation temple

[5:32] has not been built yet that's the fourth

[5:35] temple the tribulation temple that's the

[5:37] one here referenced

[5:38] in revelation chapter 11. that temple is

[5:41] yet to be built now it is prophesied

[5:44] that the temple of antichrist this

[5:46] temple would be built in daniel 9

[5:47] 27 and in chapter 11 verse 45 of daniel

[5:51] and chapter

[5:52] 12 verse 7 mentions it as well and then

[5:54] also in matthew chapter 24 verse 15

[5:58] and then second thessalonians chapter 2

[6:00] verses 3 through

[6:01] 4 and revelation here verses 11

[6:04] chapter 11 verses 1 and 2 mentions this

[6:07] temple

[6:08] so that's the fourth temple so he's

[6:10] going to be measuring the tribulation

[6:12] temple the fifth temple is the

[6:14] millennial temple

[6:16] you say well i thought why couldn't it

[6:17] be a tribulation temple and the

[6:19] millennial tip why does it need a

[6:20] different one well here's the reason why

[6:22] i believe the bible teaches there's a

[6:23] different

[6:25] temple some will say that it's the same

[6:26] but i believe it's different because the

[6:28] bible says this in zechariah

[6:30] 6 verses 12-13 and speak unto him saying

[6:34] thus speaketh the lord of hosts saying

[6:36] behold the man whose name is the branch

[6:39] that would be jesus

[6:40] and he shall grow up out of his place

[6:42] and he

[6:44] shall build the temple of the lord even

[6:47] he shall build the temple of the lord

[6:50] and he

[6:50] shall bear the glory and shall sit and

[6:54] rule upon his throne and he shall be a

[6:57] priest upon his throne

[6:58] and the council of peace shall be

[7:00] between them

[7:02] both and so this branch jesus christ

[7:06] he's going to build the temple so i also

[7:08] believe that

[7:09] the tribulation temple is going to be

[7:10] desecrated by the antichrist

[7:12] when he commits the abomination of

[7:15] desolation

[7:16] at the three and a half year point of

[7:18] the tribulation period

[7:20] so here john is measuring the temple of

[7:23] god

[7:24] and so it it's this measuring now i want

[7:26] you to notice verse number two

[7:29] it says but the court

[7:32] which is without the temple leave out

[7:35] and measure it not now in john's day

[7:38] herod's temple

[7:39] had four courts not just one court

[7:42] but four courts herod's temple had four

[7:45] courts it had the priest

[7:46] the court of the priest it had the court

[7:48] of israel the court of women

[7:50] and it had the court of the gentiles all

[7:52] four courts now i don't have time today

[7:54] to give you a breakdown

[7:56] of the full picture of the temple and

[7:59] all the verses there but if you look

[8:00] into the verses that we subscribe we

[8:02] gave to you earlier in this video

[8:04] you can see some of those pictures there

[8:07] regarding the temple

[8:09] the tribulation temple though however as

[8:11] it says in verse number two has

[8:13] one court so the court which is without

[8:16] the temple

[8:17] leave out measure not for it's given

[8:19] unto the gentiles

[8:21] and the holy city shall they tread under

[8:23] foot forty and

[8:25] two months 42 months signifying three

[8:28] and a half

[8:30] years so this 42 months now during this

[8:34] time there's 42 months referencing

[8:37] everything that has to do with

[8:38] antichrist everything that has to do

[8:40] with the beast everything that has to do

[8:41] with the false prophet

[8:43] everything that has to do with satan was

[8:45] referenced in the 42 months phrase here

[8:48] and then everything that dealing with

[8:50] the ministry of god or jesus christ

[8:53] many times this section is referenced as

[8:56] weeks or days and so we dive into

[9:01] this next section of

[9:04] revelation 11 verse 3 but before we do

[9:07] so this temple is measured god is

[9:09] claiming possession it's

[9:12] the judgment of god is coming and the

[9:14] soon possession of what is being

[9:16] measured

[9:17] and so he's measuring the temple he's

[9:20] measuring

[9:21] the altar and he's also measuring the

[9:24] worshipers therein

[9:25] so all of those things he's about to

[9:27] return

[9:29] at the end of the tribulation period now

[9:32] chapter 11 the details in it cover a

[9:34] long

[9:35] span and so i i cannot say to you it's

[9:38] happening at this

[9:39] very moment but it is detailing for us

[9:42] what's happening here is that god is

[9:46] going to come at the end of the

[9:47] tribulation jesus christ will return

[9:50] and he will set up his throne in

[9:52] jerusalem he'll be

[9:54] ruling and reigning during the

[9:55] millennial kingdom from jerusalem

[9:58] and we'll see that and that'll be he

[10:00] will rebuild the temple as we saw

[10:03] in zechariah verse number three

[10:06] and i will give power unto my two

[10:09] witnesses so the

[10:10] angels giving power to the witnesses so

[10:14] the witnesses have power

[10:15] from god the only one who can give god's

[10:18] power

[10:18] is god and he says i so it must be

[10:22] jesus christ and they're his witnesses

[10:25] it says my two witnesses

[10:27] angels wouldn't witness about other

[10:29] angels witnesses wouldn't witness about

[10:31] angels but witnesses

[10:33] would witness about jesus christ that's

[10:36] a lot of the

[10:37] word witnesses there and it says and

[10:39] they shall prophesy

[10:40] a thousand two hundred and three score

[10:43] days

[10:44] clothed in sackcloth so these

[10:47] men these strange men are going to

[10:49] appear and their ministry

[10:51] is to prophesy and to proclaim the

[10:54] messiah

[10:55] and they're going to do that a thousand

[10:58] two hundred

[10:59] three score days three and a half years

[11:02] so we'll look at that more in detail

[11:04] later in our next video

[11:07] verse number four says these are the two

[11:10] olive trees

[11:11] and the two candlesticks standing before

[11:13] the god of earth

[11:14] now you may read that and go what does

[11:16] that mean well let me help you today

[11:19] in zechariah 4 verses 11 through 14 the

[11:22] bible says this then answered i

[11:24] this is zechariah speaking said to him

[11:26] what are these two

[11:28] olive trees he's seeing a vision upon

[11:30] the right side of the

[11:32] candlestick and upon the left side

[11:34] thereof

[11:35] and i answered again and said to him

[11:36] what be these two olive branches

[11:39] which threw the two golden pipes empty

[11:42] the golden

[11:43] the golden oil out of themselves and he

[11:46] answered me and said knowest thou not

[11:48] what these be

[11:49] and i said no my lord then said he these

[11:52] are the two anointed ones

[11:54] that stand by the lord of the whole

[11:57] earth

[11:58] now when we read zachariah we understand

[12:02] revelation 11. the bible is the greatest

[12:05] commentary on itself so these olive

[12:08] trees and the two candlesticks now it's

[12:10] interesting olive oil

[12:13] olive trees got their oil and they would

[12:16] use that for burning in the menorah or

[12:18] the candlestick here

[12:19] and so the witnesses here representing

[12:23] god's anointing and his power to work

[12:26] and testify

[12:28] during these three and a half years now

[12:31] i want to also notice something that's

[12:33] very important

[12:34] john does not see the witnesses he is

[12:38] told of the witnesses it says that he's

[12:41] he says that i will give power to my

[12:43] someone's telling him he doesn't see the

[12:45] two witnesses on earth

[12:46] he doesn't see them he's told what

[12:48] happens to them in this chapter

[12:50] so john didn't know who the two

[12:53] witnesses were he didn't get to see

[12:55] their faces but there are two people

[12:59] that are used by god to prophesy

[13:02] and to testify that jesus christ is the

[13:05] messiah

[13:06] during the tribulation period and they

[13:08] prophesy

[13:09] for three and a half years now

[13:13] john doesn't notice them but there are

[13:14] many theories though on who these

[13:16] witnesses

[13:17] could be now malachi 4 verses 5 through

[13:21] 6

[13:21] tells us this behold i will send you

[13:24] elijah the prophet

[13:26] before the coming of the great and

[13:28] dreadful day of the lord

[13:30] and he shall turn the heart of the

[13:31] fathers to the children

[13:33] and the heart of the children to their

[13:35] fathers lest i come

[13:37] and smite the earth with a curse

[13:40] now according to scripture elijah is one

[13:44] of the two witnesses he's the one the

[13:46] coming of the great and dreadful day

[13:48] now some would say oh this is

[13:50] referencing john the baptist

[13:52] prophesying about jesus coming as the

[13:55] messiah but it wasn't a dreadful day

[13:58] when jesus came as the messiah he was

[14:01] coming to

[14:02] save the world so the bible here

[14:05] definitely is talking about the second

[14:08] coming the day of the lord

[14:10] when he returns the battle of armageddon

[14:12] everything that takes place

[14:14] there so before that happens there's the

[14:17] prophet elijah

[14:18] who's coming back and so elijah is

[14:21] definitely

[14:22] one of the two witnesses because of this

[14:25] prophecy

[14:26] now as you read the rest of this chapter

[14:29] dealing with the two witnesses there's a

[14:31] lot of amazing things that happened

[14:33] the judgments they're allowed to do the

[14:35] plagues they're allowed to do

[14:37] that they're killed and resurrected it's

[14:39] just a lot of exciting things that we're

[14:41] going to jump into

[14:42] next week and in fact i want to tell you

[14:45] a very important truth

[14:46] about next week we know that elijah is

[14:49] one of them

[14:50] and the other one i'm going to tell you

[14:53] next week

[14:54] who i believe that to be but you'll have

[14:56] to tune in next week to

[14:58] revelation revealed to find out but this

[15:00] week

[15:01] know these things that jesus christ

[15:05] is returning he will rule and reign from

[15:07] jerusalem chapter 11

[15:09] justice chapter 10 and chapter 12

[15:12] are jewish mainly jewish israelite

[15:16] in their context and so the group of

[15:18] people

[15:19] that it's focusing on is the jewish

[15:22] nation

[15:22] because god is returning

[15:26] back to israel to get them to return

[15:28] back to god

[15:30] and he's going to do that through the

[15:31] ministry of the two witnesses

[15:33] the 144 000 witnesses it's just an

[15:36] exciting time

[15:37] but i want you to come back next week

[15:41] second witness is in fact
