[3:18] we'd like to start off with our memory

[3:20] our scripture verse this morning Psalm

[3:27] praise think about lifting up God so

[3:31] anytime you see it when you go back to

[3:32] it if you go back to it and read it

[3:34] think about it when you think the think

[3:36] of the word praise it means to lift up

[3:38] God so read it that way when you you go

[3:44] effect to it but we're going to go ahead

[5:07] great way to overwhelm us with your

[5:09] presence let the Holy Spirit work in a

[5:11] mighty mighty way father that we'll feel

[5:14] your presence Among Us father father God

[5:16] if there's one here father that has not

[5:19] recognized Jesus Christ as our Lord and

[5:21] savior that today Father will be the day

[5:23] that they recognize their lost condition

[5:25] and their need of a savior father and

[5:27] they look to Jesus for salvation father

[5:29] before it too late father God I thank

[5:31] you so much for what you're doing in

[5:32] this church I thank you for the progress

[5:35] I thank you for answered prayers father

[16:22] Colossians chapter 2 we're going to read

[16:25] verses 1-10 this morning of Colossians 2

[16:29] word of God says for I would that ye

[16:31] knew what great conflict I have for you

[16:40] flesh that their hearts might be

[16:43] comforted being knit together in love

[16:45] and unto all Riches of full Assurance of

[16:49] understanding to the acknowledgment of

[18:24] you as Savior that today they'd come to

[18:27] the saving knowledge of you Lord bless

[18:33] be hearers of the word but doers also in

[18:41] seated the Apostle Paul under the

[18:43] inspiration Lord writing to the church

[18:44] at

[18:45] colassi he got

[18:48] word there's some problems he got word

[18:51] that in colassi there was a a sweeping

[18:54] of gnosticism and we'll talk about that

[18:57] more in the message later on

[18:59] but a cultist following had began to

[19:02] penetrate they're trying to hijack these

[19:06] new

[19:07] Believers and hold them captive with

[19:10] knowledge gnosticism comes from the word

[19:13] their NOS which means knowledge or to

[19:16] know so there was a desire to know they

[19:19] wanted to know everything and wanted to

[19:20] know all things and there was a desire

[19:23] knowledge is

[19:25] okay but if you take the world's

[19:27] knowledge and try to put put it into the

[19:29] word of God it'll cause

[19:31] confusion because the word of God is not

[19:34] physically discerned it is spiritually

[19:37] discerned and so there's a struggle

[19:39] happening at the church of colassi and

[19:40] so just like the world today there's a

[19:43] lot of knowledge out

[19:45] there you can go hit Google on your

[19:48] computer and type in a Bible question

[19:50] and all sorts of stuff will pop up now I

[19:53] want to remind you the way that Google

[19:55] works Google is a company that makes

[19:57] money

[19:59] so one of the things they will offer

[20:01] people is you can pay to get higher up

[20:02] in the search engine

[20:05] results doesn't necessarily mean the

[20:07] first thing at the top is the right

[20:09] answer it's the person who paid the most

[20:12] money to get at the

[20:14] top so be careful trusting

[20:18] Google for your Bible discernment it can

[20:22] help you but the greatest commentary on

[20:25] the word of God is the word of God so be

[20:29] careful for that so there is a wealth of

[20:33] knowledge at our fingertips I was

[20:34] talking with a gentleman yesterday uh

[20:37] he's a seasoned

[20:40] adult which means he's older than

[20:44] me so he he's an a seasoned adult and he

[20:48] was talking to me he said yeah I don't

[20:49] have a home computer anymore because I

[20:51] got one in my

[20:53] hand everything he needs he's got on his

[20:55] phone he can go right into it and and

[20:57] look it up and and have that knowledge

[20:59] and we have knowledge at our

[21:03] fingertips and Satan's

[21:07] desire just as it was with these early

[21:09] Christians in colassi is to overwhelm

[21:14] Believers with worldly knowledge that

[21:19] sounds

[21:22] Godly that's what a lot of gnosticism is

[21:25] they took worldly knowledge and put

[21:27] Christian words in it and it caused

[21:30] confusion in the early church and it's

[21:33] still happening today and so we're going

[21:36] to show you how to deal with false

[21:41] information that

[21:43] comes in a form of religious

[21:47] terminology false information that comes

[21:50] with religious terminology so look if

[21:53] you would at verse number one Paul

[21:56] writes I would that you knew what great

[21:58] lict I have for you and for them at Leo

[22:00] DEA for as many as have not seen my face

[22:03] in the flesh that their hearts might be

[22:06] comforted being knit together in love

[22:09] and all the riches of the full Assurance

[22:11] of understanding to the acknowledgment

[22:13] of the mystery of God and of the father

[22:15] and of Christ in whom are HID all the

[22:18] treasures of wisdom and knowledge who

[22:20] are they in they're in

[22:23] Christ the first way to deal with

[22:26] misinformation with religious his terms

[22:29] is to know

[22:30] him to know him the first step in

[22:33] knowing him is to be born again to have

[22:36] salvation if you're not saved you're

[22:38] going to have a hard time deciphering

[22:40] spiritual things because the holy spirit

[22:43] is the guide who guides us into all

[22:46] truth and at the moment of Salvation the

[22:48] Holy Spirit takes residence in your

[22:50] heart and life and when he comes in he

[22:53] guides us into all truth so he helps you

[22:56] to discern the word of God so you got to

[22:58] know him through salvation and you got

[23:01] to know him in a regular walk with God

[23:05] knowing god means spending time with God

[23:08] and having a relationship with him and

[23:11] spending time with him so you have to

[23:14] know him and so he says in verse three

[23:17] in whom are HID all the Treasures of the

[23:19] wisdom and knowledge so Christ knows it

[23:23] all he's omniscient he's all knowing he

[23:26] knows it all Bible says if any man lack

[23:29] wisdom let him ask of God who giveth to

[23:32] all men liberally and abrath not so

[23:34] God's got all the wisdom that you and I

[23:36] could need were to ask him for it

[23:40] problem is is we don't like God's

[23:42] answers we talked about that Wednesday

[23:43] night sometimes it's yes sometimes it's

[23:46] no and sometimes it's weight but when we

[23:48] ask for wisdom there's only usually two

[23:50] answers he gives yes and

[23:53] weight we don't like the weit one God

[23:56] tell me why not yet

[23:59] yet I want to know not yet it's not time

[24:04] yet so he's working on your patience

[24:08] someone said preacher I had a desire

[24:10] earlier this year to grow in patience so

[24:12] I prayed for patience and God sent me

[24:14] all sorts of stuff that I did not enjoy

[24:16] I said well God answered your

[24:19] prayer just growing your patience and

[24:23] patience has grown through difficult

[24:26] circumstances so he continues on in

[24:29] verse

[24:30] three that in him is hid all the

[24:33] treasure notice in whom in whom not in

[24:36] what in whom it's a person it's a in

[24:39] whom it's in him so we're to know him

[24:42] through salvation and know him through a

[24:44] steadfast walk with God and then verse

[24:47] three he says that and we'll get to

[24:49] verse four this I say lest any man

[24:54] should beguile you with enticing

[24:59] words says I'm saying this that you need

[25:02] to know him and have a relationship with

[25:04] him lest anyone beguile you with

[25:08] enticing

[25:11] words listen we don't get enticed from

[25:14] words that are not

[25:18] enticing words you don't like to

[25:20] hear don't entice you to do things would

[25:25] you like to

[26:09] you those enticing words you go to the

[26:15] store Lord help

[26:17] me you go to the store with your

[26:24] sale she doesn't need it but it's on

[26:26] sale and because of those words on

[26:30] sale it's

[26:33] enticing it's enticing it's on sale I

[26:37] don't need it but it preacher it's 50%

[26:40] off but it's 50% you weren't planning on

[26:45] spending but it's on

[26:47] sale so they're kind of giving it to no

[26:50] they're

[26:52] not but it's that attach now that same

[26:55] woman goes in and says that's too much

[26:56] for that I ain't buying that but if it's

[26:58] on sale I could use

[27:10] Lowe's and it and it's buy a battery get

[27:20] with the purchase of a battery come on I

[27:24] had to have it it's always good to have

[27:26] a spare to two or three besides the

[27:30] batteries are interchangeable it works

[27:33] so I got everybody all right I covered

[27:36] everyone all right got them

[27:39] all but those enticing

[27:41] words but if you know him when enticing

[27:45] words come the Holy Spirit begins to

[27:47] speak to your heart that's not right and

[27:50] it pulls you

[27:51] back P your back a guy goes to Lo he's

[27:55] not going to be enticed when it says

[27:57] same tool

[27:58] two times the

[28:01] price they're not going to be

[28:03] enticed because it's different wording

[28:07] listen Satan's very good since the

[28:11] Garden of Eden at saying words to

[28:16] entice and he's using the same tactic

[28:20] today to entice the way the Bible

[28:22] describes him in the gospels he's the

[28:24] father of all

[28:27] lies the father of all

[28:29] lies look at verse eight Paul writing to

[28:33] this church in colassi verse eight he

[28:35] said Beware lest any man spoil you

[28:38] through philosophy and vain deceit after

[28:40] the tradition of men and after the

[28:42] rudiments of the world and not after

[28:46] Christ so number one we mentioned you

[28:48] got to know him number two there will

[28:51] always always be those against

[28:55] him by the way those that are

[28:58] against

[29:00] him just because they're contrary to the

[29:02] word of God means they are against

[29:06] God you're either for him or against him

[29:09] there's not a

[29:10] middle you're either on the Lord's Side

[29:12] or you're not on the Lord's

[29:15] Side so the cult at colassi was

[29:19] propagating five major

[29:22] heirs and Paul unravels them in this

[29:25] chapter they were advocating ing in

[29:28] verses 8-10

[29:30] intellectualism the traditions of men

[29:32] the rud intellectualism in verses 11

[29:36] through 13 they were advocating

[29:38] ritualism and we're not going to go

[29:40] through the chapter we're just going to

[29:41] highlight a couple things that are

[29:42] applicable to us that we're looking at

[29:44] today there verses 11 through 13 was

[29:47] ritualism verses 14- 17 was

[29:50] legalism legalism in verses 14- 17

[29:53] verses 18-9 they were advocating for

[29:57] mysticism mysticism and the Mystic Arts

[30:00] and verses 20 to 23 they're are

[30:04] advocating for aestheticism which is

[30:06] denying or punishing the body in other

[30:08] words they said the only way you can be

[30:11] spiritual is if you don't eat or if you

[30:14] beat

[30:15] yourself and you got to penance yourself

[30:18] and so this false teaching was

[30:20] penetrating into the teaching of the

[30:23] word of God and this church at colassi

[30:25] was under assault from this grou Cult of

[30:28] tics propagating these erors and so

[30:31] they're advocating in verses 8 through1

[30:33] in intellectualism and ritualism and

[30:35] legalism and mysticism and aestheticism

[30:38] so these focuses that are coming into

[30:41] this church are very dangerous and so

[30:44] Paul takes the word of God and the pen

[30:47] of God and he writes to them a letter to

[30:50] help

[30:51] them now throughout time the main

[30:54] features of full grown gnosticism the

[30:58] knowledge to know more historically

[31:01] number one it is absorb non-Christian

[31:03] thoughts into two Christian faith

[31:07] gnosticism number one tactic is to take

[31:10] non-Christian thought into Christian

[31:15] faith the second thing it does

[31:17] philosophically it lodged sin in

[31:21] matter and therefore repudiated the

[31:24] Creator as either impotent or evil

[31:28] so God made the world evil is what they

[31:32] said therefore God can't be good God

[31:35] can't be right because if he made evil

[31:37] then he is evil and they took away the

[31:41] Creator they rep repudiated the Creator

[31:43] as either impotent or evil so they say

[31:45] God is evil because he all he created

[31:48] evil well no he allowed evil doesn't

[31:51] mean that he let it come from

[31:53] him thirdly practically numerous knock

[31:57] ostic schools prohibited

[32:00] marriage as multiplying incurable matter

[32:04] there's no hope for

[32:05] Sinners you're without hope there's no

[32:08] hope at all so because of that they

[32:12] advocated in Practical theology they

[32:15] similarly numerous gnostics they said

[32:17] you can't get married because if you one

[32:21] sinner marries another sinner or Jud

[32:23] just making it worse that's not what the

[32:25] Bible teaches bible teaches that God

[32:28] created marriage God approves of

[32:30] marriage and it's marriage is one man

[32:32] and one woman for one lifetime that was

[32:34] God's

[32:34] plan and so he created marriage so he

[32:37] knows how marriage works

[32:38] similarly numerous gnostics prohibited

[32:41] the eating of certain

[32:44] foods as being inherently evil so

[32:47] certain Meats certain drinks they said

[32:49] if you eat that it's

[32:51] evil because the meat itself is evil

[32:55] it's possessing sin so the

[32:59] some of them were teaching certain

[33:01] pieces of meat if you ate that you were

[33:03] eating

[33:06] sin that's not what the Bible was

[33:09] teaching but that's what they were

[33:11] adding to it they were twisting the

[33:13] scriptures theologically they said that

[33:16] the Jehovah of the Old Testament was

[33:19] portrayed as a tribal God of Israel he

[33:23] was denounced as an alien and hostile

[33:26] deity

[33:28] that's what gnosticism teaches even

[33:31] today that God is an alien he

[33:36] hostile we use a big word here

[33:39] christologically just concerning Christ

[33:42] it separated Jesus from Christ denying

[33:46] both deity and the humanity of the

[33:49] Lord that still happens

[33:51] today there's a group called The Jehovah

[33:54] witnesses that teach that very thing

[33:58] inevitably it sank finally into

[34:01] irreparable

[34:02] apostasy apostasy is not merely the

[34:05] corruption of Truth it is the total

[34:07] change of Truth or the complete

[34:09] abandonment of the faith previously held

[34:11] and Satan has been behind the gnostice

[34:15] movement all the way back from its

[34:20] Origins because we could trace it all

[34:22] the way back to Genesis and this is what

[34:23] he said to Eve yay hath God said

[34:29] question what God

[34:32] Said the desire for

[34:35] knowledge

[35:01] him so in this world that we live in

[35:04] there are false religions daily

[35:07] bombarding the world with all sorts of

[35:13] teachings there are those that use

[35:15] knowledge over spiritual things there's

[35:20] a danger now knowledge is not

[35:23] dangerous unless it conflicts with what

[35:26] God has said

[35:28] said God's word is the truth the

[35:31] absolute truth it is our sole Authority

[35:33] for Faith and

[35:35] practice therefore we ought to obey the

[35:37] word of

[35:39] God so these other teachings this nosism

[35:42] comes in so we fast forward to

[35:46] today you ever been

[35:49] bombarded on YouTube with all sorts of

[35:52] religious

[35:53] things on social media with all sorts of

[35:57] religious ious things and people who are

[35:59] watch this well

[36:01] articulated can convince you of things

[36:05] that are questionable about the word of

[36:08] God so how do we defeat that how do you

[36:11] battle

[36:13] misinformation that uses religious

[36:16] terminology well the first step was to

[36:18] know him the second remember there are

[36:20] always going to be those against him and

[36:21] then he gives us an outline to help us

[36:26] battle what we we find as information

[36:29] overload at times from a World's desire

[36:34] to cause you to question ye hath God

[36:37] said so here it is verse number five for

[36:41] though I be absent in the flesh yet I am

[36:43] with you in spirit joying and beholding

[36:45] your order and steadfastness as your

[36:46] faith in Christ as you therefore have

[37:25] grounded into the God we're we're rooted

[37:28] it's a plant you got to put the roots

[37:32] time you don't wake up the day after you

[37:34] got saved and you're rooted as you're

[37:36] ever going to be it takes time to grow

[37:39] in your relationship with God it takes

[37:41] time to come into more knowledge of the

[37:43] word of God but you're to be rooted in

[37:46] him so we're rooted in him and then he

[37:49] switches and he says now we're built

[37:52] up and so he first started with the

[37:55] Agriculture and now he's talking about

[37:58] architecture we're built up like a

[38:01] building We rise up so we were first

[38:04] rooted now we're we're built up in other

[38:06] words we're to be growing we're to be

[38:08] shaping and molding into something we're

[38:11] to be built up you're not to stay at

[38:13] ground level you're to be built up and

[38:17] built up and built up and built up and

[38:20] so he desires so he we're to know him

[38:24] and then we're to walk in him and we're

[38:25] to walk in him rooted

[38:28] and we're walk in him built up we're to

[38:31] walk in him established in the

[38:35] faith we're established we're we're not

[38:41] wind of everything we are rooted in God

[38:45] we're built up in him we're established

[38:47] in the faith then he said as ye have

[39:19] him to abide in Christ we need to be

[39:22] rooted in him not rooted in the things

[39:25] of this world we're rooted in Christ

[39:33] abiding in him and abounding in

[39:41] if I abide in him I'll grow in

[39:44] him if I don't abide in him I won't grow

[39:50] him so I have to abide and then I abound

[39:53] in him so he tells the church

[39:57] he's giving them this

[39:59] teaching rooted built up in him

[40:02] establish Faith why because he's getting

[40:04] ready to take the rest of the chapter

[40:10] teaching he's going to dissect it

[40:17] we're going to be rooted and built up

[40:19] like Christ desires for us we're going

[40:20] to have to be rooted in the word of God

[40:24] God's word you're going to have to put

[40:32] it and you got to study it you got to

[40:35] meditate on it so you have to do that

[40:38] you got to be rooted and built up in him

[40:41] so to be rooted in the word of God and

[40:53] me to question what God has said I go

[40:59] right and why doesn't that sound right

[41:02] because it goes contrary to the word of

[41:03] God but if I don't have a relationship

[41:06] where I'm rooted in the word of God that

[41:08] sounds pretty good that sounds like buy

[41:14] bronze it's enticing words or it's buy

[41:17] one steak get one Stak

[41:20] free those are enticing words those

[41:24] those enticing words so if I'm if I'm

[41:26] going to understand that the information

[41:29] of religious terms that gets thrown at

[41:31] me across the internet and through other

[41:33] people talking how am I going to

[41:35] navigate that I have to be rooted in the

[41:38] word of God you got to know the

[41:41] word you got to be rooted in the word so

[41:45] Paul is telling this church before we

[41:47] deal before I deal with the mysticism

[41:51] and the legalism and the ticism before I

[41:54] get there you need to get rooted

[41:58] need to get built

[42:00] up need to get stabs hey we're living in

[42:03] a day and age where it's even more

[42:04] vitally important for you and I to be

[42:09] consistent and steadfast and intentional

[42:13] and studying the word of

[42:16] God we ought to be

[42:19] intentional go look at up read your word

[42:24] study the word meditate on it

[42:28] give yourself to

[42:30] it because there's a lot of

[42:33] noise in the

[42:35] world and if we're not careful noise

[42:38] will distract

[42:40] you and you'll Chase watch this you'll

[42:42] Chase noise instead of God we're to

[42:45] pursue him not to pursue these other

[42:48] things now listen in the pursuit of him

[42:50] he will allow other things to come into

[42:52] your path to help you to grow in

[42:55] him be careful now there's nothing wrong

[42:58] with looking up stuff there's nothing

[43:00] wrong with that but remember that's a

[43:03] possibility but this is eternally

[43:07] correct the word of God is eternally

[43:20] world a lot of different

[43:23] views I heard this past week of a

[43:26] Preacher preaching

[43:30] on spousal

[43:34] discipline that it was biblically okay

[43:38] for him to beat his

[43:41] wife it is

[43:43] not it is

[43:45] not but he twisted the word of God and

[43:49] preached the whole message and said that

[43:51] it is it is

[43:54] not it is not

[43:58] he tried to justify other things that he

[44:00] did using the word god listen you got to

[44:02] know the word so when you hear something

[44:06] that goes wait a minute that doesn't

[44:07] sound right the holy spirit gives you

[44:09] warning you ought to pay attention to it

[44:12] I say no no no that doesn't sound right

[44:14] there's a lot of teaching in the world

[44:16] because of the situation of the land

[44:28] word of God is clear on what the word of

[44:42] answers the word of God does but I don't

[44:44] have all the answers and if I if you ask

[46:39] says as we mentioned earlier those are

[46:41] all companies that allow people to pay

[46:43] to be up at the top of their

[46:46] results some of it comes through traffic

[46:48] and all that stuff but that is their

[46:50] desire so listen be

[46:54] careful so what should you and I do we

[46:56] should be rooted in the

[46:58] word we should be built up in Christ we

[47:02] should understand that Christ is doing a

[47:03] work in us and we are to be spiritually

[47:07] mature and to grow up in him and

[47:11] establish the faith then as we've been

[47:13] taught so we ought to learn we ought to

[47:15] place ourselves in places to

[47:18] learn that's why it's important to be

[47:21] faithful to the house of God and be in

[47:23] church as often as he can be because

[47:25] it's a good opport need to

[47:28] learn because the word of God is going

[47:30] to be taught whether it's in a Sunday

[47:31] school class or a morning service night

[47:34] service a Wednesday night service or

[47:36] Revival services or special services or

[47:39] conference it's always going to be

[47:41] focused on the word of God because it's

[47:44] the word of God that changed us

[47:46] lives so as we navigate

[47:49] life I want you to remind yourself of

[47:52] something God's word is clear on what

[47:56] God wants us to

[47:58] do now listen there are a lot of people

[48:04] religious

[48:06] backgrounds and try to

[48:09] attach things to

[48:13] spirituality that God did not say is

[48:19] spiritual we talked about it in Sunday

[48:23] weeks there is not there is not a

[48:28] checklist for god well if you wear this

[48:31] you are not right with God if you wear

[48:33] this you are in sin if you eat this if

[48:37] you do this there's not a checklist like

[48:41] that there is a checklist of do you love

[48:44] him are you walking with

[48:47] him and are you yielding to him because

[48:51] guess what happens now here's the

[48:52] amazing thing that happens when you love

[48:54] him and you walk with him and you yield

[48:56] with him he may ask you because he may

[49:00] ask you to do some of these things on

[49:03] list but you're not doing them to obtain

[49:06] his favor you're doing them because he

[49:09] to so he may have you dress a certain

[49:16] things because he asked you to and he

[49:19] may have already asked you through the

[49:21] word of God to do some certain things

[49:24] but marks him his spirituality

[49:27] is 5 years from now 10 years from now 20

[49:29] years from now still loving God still

[49:32] walking with God and still yielding to

[49:35] God in your everyday life it's called

[49:39] faithfulness and God rewards

[49:42] faithfulness so be faithful to God and

[49:46] his word and you will find your

[49:49] Christian Life in a state of being

[49:52] rooted and built up and established in

[49:55] him you will will grow up in Jesus

[49:59] listen it's so sad there are people that

[50:01] grew up in church they didn't grow up in

[50:05] Christ they follow all the rules they

[50:07] check all the boxes but their heart is

[50:09] nowhere near where God wants their heart

[56:40] everything we need in Christ to live

[56:47] everything I need to get over the hurts

[56:49] of life I can get from

[56:52] God but you know how he does it through

[56:55] the word of God and

[56:58] time now listen listen listen closely

[57:01] people lie and they say time heals all

[57:05] wounds that's not true that's not

[57:09] true the medication of the word of God

[57:11] plus time can heal all

[57:15] wounds tell you've been

[57:18] hurt by religious people you've been

[57:21] hurt by people who had some worldly

[57:24] thinking in the way they conducted their

[57:26] life with God and it hurt you and God

[57:29] wants you to heal from that God's intent

[57:32] was never for people to be

[57:36] hurt but God's intent is for hurt people

[57:40] to

[57:41] heal I've said it this way often sinful

[57:43] people do sinful things and hurt other

[57:46] people if those people were not

[57:48] practicing in sinful ways they would

[57:50] more or less likely have hurt somebody

[57:54] else but because they were practicing

[57:56] sinful ways they hurt other people and

[57:59] listen if you've been

[58:01] hurt if you've been

[58:04] hurt dramatically in your life

[58:07] traumatically in your

[58:09] life I want you to listen to me

[58:12] closely God never

[58:16] approved of

[58:20] that he never

[58:24] approved of that

[58:30] now

[58:33] allowed

[58:34] it and that's the hard

[58:37] part because we don't know why God would

[58:41] allow

[58:44] that but it's for our

[58:48] growth it's for our relationship with

[58:53] him to grow through hurt

[59:03] difficult it's not

[59:06] enjoyable But

[59:08] ultimately God can get Glory out of our

[59:16] hurt and in our

[59:18] lives there are people today that will

[59:22] try to express to you that God approved

[59:25] of those things God never did approve of

[59:29] it don't be tempted to blame God for

[59:34] what a sinful person did in hurting

[59:39] you don't blame

[59:42] God and you say

[59:45] preacher I have a hard time

[59:48] forgiving that

[59:50] person I have a hard time doing that I

[59:55] understand

[59:56] I can empathize with

[59:59] you but let me tell you

[60:02] today if you allow that

[60:05] bitterness to continue in your life it's

[60:10] going to hurt

[60:13] you and affect

[60:19] you the Bible tells us to be careful

[60:21] lest the root of bitterness spring up in

[60:24] our life you've got to deal with the

[60:27] bitterness in your heart it takes two

[60:29] things it takes the medication of God's

[60:30] word and time to deal with bitterness in

[60:33] our heart you have to choose to forgive

[60:37] not for them not that they deserve it

[60:41] not that they haven't asked for it none

[60:43] of that stuff you got to choose to

[60:46] forgive for

[60:49] God and ultimately God allows us and

[60:52] helps us enables us to forgive to help

[60:55] us in our relationship with him you're

[60:58] hanging on to

[60:59] bitterness it's a poison bitterness is

[61:03] the poison that you drink trying to hurt

[61:05] the other

[61:07] person it's the poison that you drink

[61:09] trying to hurt the other person you're

[61:11] so mad you're so angry you're so bitter

[61:14] at them and they have no clue they're

[61:17] going through their life like nothing

[61:18] ever

[61:20] happened but you drink that poison daily

[61:23] and it affects you can hurt you You' got

[61:27] to learn to give it to

[61:31] God God doesn't want you to be

[61:36] victims we are more than

[61:39] conquerors through him that loved

[61:42] us we are not victims we are people who

[61:47] have lived through difficulty and

[61:51] tragedy it is your choice to have a

[61:54] victim mentality

[68:20] windborne tomorrow is having surgery

[68:23] tomorrow midm morning and so uh schedule

[68:26] time change she was going to have to be

[68:27] there early now it's midm morning so you

[68:29] pray for Miss windborn and the family

[68:32] should be in the hospital three or four

[68:33] days after surgery recovery time is

[68:35] about three months complete recovery and

[68:37] so be in prayer for the windborn family

[68:39] today and especially the rest of the

[68:42] family because all the moms know when

[68:44] Mom's not at her normal capacity

[68:47] everything else gets stressed around the

[68:49] house and so pray for the windborn

[68:51] family as well I believe her mom's

[68:54] traveling in is that right Jennifer so

[68:55] pray for her mom traveling in to be here

[68:58] with the little ones during that time so

[69:00] pray for the windborn family pray for

[69:02] the white family on Tuesday Miss Leah

[69:04] White's going to be having a procedure a

[69:07] pretty intense procedure done on Tuesday

[69:10] so pray for that uh that everything will

[69:12] go smoothly there and that it will be

[69:15] effective and bring relief uh for the

[69:17] pressure situation she's dealing with in

[69:19] her brain so be in prayer for Miss Leah

[69:22] white if you would and the white family

[69:25] Tuesday with that upcoming procedure uh

[69:28] for those that weren't in Sunday school

[69:29] today um the Lord's been good to the

[69:32] church this week uh on Monday we had a

[69:35] company donated about 1100 square feet

[69:37] of carpet for our Sunday School

[69:39] classrooms and then on Thursday that

[69:41] company came back and donated another

[69:43] 1700 square feet of carpet so now we

[69:46] have carpet for every Sunday School

[69:48] classroom so praise the Lord for

[69:52] that and then that company said you have

[69:55] the glue to put that down I said I have

[69:57] some I could probably use more I said

[69:58] we'll give you that too and so we've got

[70:00] all the supplies needed for the carpet

[70:03] installations so praise the Lord for

[70:05] that so in the next few weeks if you

[70:07] hear preacher asking for help and

[70:09] volunteers with some things you'll know

[70:11] what's going on and so but we're praise

[70:13] the Lord for that we've had people in

[70:14] this week every day doing stuff at the

[70:17] church and I'm so thankful for that uh

[70:20] the work of the ministry is happening

[70:23] with multiple people doing the work and

[70:25] laboring during the week so thank the

[70:27] Lord for that there's been Clash so um

[70:30] with that carpet being donated Friday

[70:32] night we had some young men that came

[70:34] over and volunteered and they laid all

[70:36] the carpet in the teen room so the first

[70:38] classroom the right has brand new carpet

[70:40] uh new paint on the wall a new custom

[70:42] corner cabinet and a new table that was

[70:44] designed and so praise the Lord for that

[70:47] and that all got done so if you want to

[70:49] take a look at it you can do that they

[70:51] didn't mess it up during Sunday school

[70:53] right brother Jesse it's still good so

[70:54] you can stop by and check out that room

[70:57] that's the first classroom on the right

[70:58] as you go down that hallway so praise

[71:02] done we've got some trim work we're

[71:04] still doing and some touch-up paint so

[71:06] it's not perfect yet but it is looking

[71:08] much better than it was two weeks ago so

[71:10] we praise the Lord for that and thank

[71:13] you for that so also um we've got this

[71:16] wonderful situation we're dealing with

[71:18] our Sunday School classes and our kids

[71:20] department is growing and so we're

[71:22] having to add more classrooms and to do

[71:25] that we need to purchase more chairs and

[71:27] so we had a chair package that we were

[71:29] looking at and I shared that with a few

[71:31] people and someone called me on Monday

[71:33] and said preacher uh we'd like to buy a

[71:35] 10 pack of those chairs it's $189 to buy

[71:38] a 10 pack they said we want to give that

[71:40] so we ordered that 10 pack of chairs and

[71:42] then someone called me on Tuesday said

[71:44] hey I'd like to give money to get chairs

[71:46] too and so we ordered two sets of that

[71:48] so they're coming this week so that te

[71:50] first classroom they have these kind of

[71:52] chairs we're going to take them out of

[71:54] there and put these new black f holding

[71:55] chairs in there that are padded and so

[71:57] they'll have those starting this next

[71:59] week so we praise the Lord for those

[72:00] that give if you'd like to get them more

[72:03] once we get him in there if you want to

[72:04] check them out and see them and if you

[72:06] like to give toward that project we

[72:07] we'll help replace the chairs throughout

[72:09] the building um we got into that

[72:12] classroom and we saw the carpet that's

[72:14] been there and uh we did some research

[72:17] and brother Garza was 16 years old when

[72:20] that carpet got

[72:22] installed I had to use him because

[72:25] because I wasn't born when that carpet

[72:27] was installed but he was only a teenager

[72:31] when that was installed and so thank you

[72:33] for letting me pick on you today and so

[72:35] I appreciate that but um we praise the

[72:38] Lord for all that he's doing and uh you

[72:41] remember our prayer board we had out

[72:42] earlier this year uh we were praying

[72:45] that uh we could get new carpet for all

[72:47] the Sunday School classrooms and God

[72:49] provided and answered that prayer and

[72:52] then we were also praying uh that you

[72:55] know I would be able to walk sooner

[72:58] without needing a walker as you know I'm

[73:00] just on the cane now but uh also around

[73:04] the house a lot I've been walking

[73:06] without that device the Lord willing by

[73:08] the end of the year we're praying to be

[73:10] completely off any assistance of cane or

[73:13] anything just remind yourself for those

[73:15] who don't know as well in May after the

[73:18] surgery I had in February in May I

[73:20] preached my first sermon here in May in

[73:22] a wheelchair so remember may I was in a

[73:25] a wheelchair and today we're just on a

[73:27] Canan walking around so we praise the

[73:29] Lord for that so God answers prayer so

[73:37] other folks to pray for things to pray

[73:39] for pray for Saturday pray for the

[73:41] conference the Escape conference on
