[0:02] This is the CBS Evening News
[0:07] with Dan Rather and Connie Chung.
[0:11] >> Good evening. 20,000 US troops watched
[0:13] over another day of looting and shooting
[0:15] in Haiti today.
[0:17] >> Today was the third anniversary of the
[0:19] military coup that ousted elected
[0:21] President Jean Bertrron Aristid.
[0:23] Ariststeed supporters took to the
[0:25] streets to call for his immediate
[0:27] return. But the march erupted into
[0:29] street battles with armed supporters of
[0:31] the military. At least five Haitians

[1:15] greeted as conquering heroes.
[1:18] "Security!" the people shouted. "You
[1:21] brought us security." The demonstrators
[1:23] took all the people with them. Or so it
[1:25] seemed. if you stuck to the parade
[1:26] route. But just around the corner, it
[1:29] was another story altogether.
[1:32] >> Here, members of FRAP, paramilitary
[1:34] supporters of the regime, gathered,
[1:36] armed with rocks, machetes, nailstudded
[1:39] clubs, molotov cocktails, and automatic
[1:42] weapons. Anyone who ventured into their
[1:44] territory was made to f
