[0:01] President Clinton faces allegations of
[0:03] asking a former White House intern to
[0:05] lie about their relationship. A very
[0:08] difficult day for the White House.
[0:10] >> I didn't ask anybody not to tell the
[0:12] truth. There is no improper
[0:14] relationship. The allegations I have
[0:16] read are not true.
[0:18] >> Pope John Paul II arrives in Cuba. A
[0:22] very good day for Cuba.
[0:31] From ABC,
[0:33] this is World News Tonight with Peter
[0:35] Jennings reporting tonight from Cuba.
[0:38] >> Good evening.
[0:39] >> Good evening from Havana where one of
[0:41] the day's big stories has begun to
[0:43] unfold. One of them, the Pope, is here

[1:10] In both these stories tonight, there are
[1:12] repercussions far and wide. We're going
[1:15] to begin with the president's problem
[1:16] because it is the country's problem.
[1:18] We'll have a report from ABC's Jackie
[1:20] Jud who had the story first. We'll talk
[1:22] to our legal analyst Jeffrey Tubin. But
[1:25] first, we go to ABC's Sam Donaldson
[1:28] where the bombshell fell at the White
[1:29] House. Sam Peter, it's been a confusing
[1:32] day here at the White House as President
[1:33] Clinton and his aids have sought to
[1:35] satisfy a stunned p
