[0:01] have you ever thought about what might

[0:03] happen the day jesus returns to this

[0:06] earth

[0:07] on his white horse

[0:08] well let's talk about it today on

[0:11] revelation revealed

[0:14] it's week 50 and we're excited to dive

[0:17] in to what the lord has for us today in

[0:19] our next section of revelation we're in

[0:22] chapter number 19 and we're going to

[0:24] begin reading in verses 11 through 16

[0:27] today

[0:28] and we're going to begin in verse number

[0:29] 11. it says and i saw heaven open this

[0:33] is the second time

[0:34] in the book of revelation that heaven is

[0:36] open

[0:37] john's seen it twice

[0:39] the first time was in chapter 4 verse 1

[0:42] where he said he saw heaven open and a

[0:44] voice came from heaven it's calling come

[0:47] up hither

[0:48] and now heaven's open and something's

[0:51] coming out of heaven so let's look in

[0:54] verse 11.

[0:55] i saw heaven open and behold a white

[0:57] horse and he that set upon him was

[1:00] called faithful and true

[1:03] and in righteousness he doth judge and

[1:05] make war

[1:07] his eyes were as a flame of fire and on

[1:10] his head were many crowns and he had a

[1:13] name written that no man knew but he

[1:17] himself

[1:18] and he was clothed with a vesture dipped

[1:21] in blood

[1:22] and his name is called the word of god

[1:25] and the armies which were in heaven

[1:27] followed him upon the white horses

[1:30] clothed in fine linen white and clean

[1:33] and out of his mouth go with a sharp

[1:35] sword that

[1:37] with it he should smite the nations and

[1:40] he shall rule them with a rod of iron

[1:43] and he treadeth the winepress of the

[1:45] fierceness and the wrath of almighty god

[1:48] and he hath on his vesture and on his

[1:51] thigh a name written king of kings

[1:54] and lord of lords

[1:57] what a sight what a scene we'll get to

[2:00] experience that day when christ returns

[2:03] to earth

[2:05] now as of today it could be as soon as

[2:09] seven years from today

[2:12] we know that the coming of christ is at

[2:14] the end of the tribulation period the

[2:17] next thing on god's prophetic calendar

[2:20] is the rapture

[2:22] of the church

[2:24] for those believers who have suffered in

[2:26] this life

[2:27] at the hands of merciless tormentors

[2:31] this scene has been a long awaited one

[2:34] the second coming of jesus christ to

[2:37] rule

[2:38] and to reign is one of the

[2:41] most anticipated things

[2:44] that people look forward to

[2:46] when people recite in the model prayer

[2:49] thy kingdom come

[2:51] that's what they're talking about when

[2:53] jesus comes back

[2:55] it's this event that the jews of old

[2:57] have looked forward to when they prayed

[3:00] for their saving messiah

[3:02] when the jews looked forward to their

[3:04] messiah they saw him as prophet priest

[3:07] and king

[3:08] and he will rule and reign one day

[3:12] this even could also be referred to as

[3:15] the beginning of the honeymoon of the

[3:18] bride of christ as we talked about last

[3:20] week with christ himself when they come

[3:22] and rule and reign together

[3:26] let's talk about it a little bit today

[3:28] the advent of christ

[3:31] this is a real

[3:33] actual appearance

[3:35] on earth of jesus christ with his saints

[3:38] now at one time scoffer said where's the

[3:41] promise of his coming

[3:42] well in second peter chapter 3 verse 4

[3:46] let's look at that today and see what

[3:47] the bible says

[3:49] about the second coming

[3:51] of jesus christ second peter

[3:53] chapter 3 and verse number 4 and saying

[3:57] where is the promise of his coming for

[4:00] since the fathers fell asleep and all

[4:02] things continue as they were from the

[4:04] beginning of creation

[4:06] some have thought

[4:08] it's not going to happen but it is we're

[4:11] about to find out that jesus returns as

[4:14] a the writer on the white horse

[4:17] now warren weirsby wrote the description

[4:20] of christ is thrilling

[4:22] he is no longer on the humble donkey

[4:25] that he rode into

[4:27] jerusalem on on

[4:29] palm sunday he's not on that but he's on

[4:32] a fiery white charger

[4:34] his eyes are not filled with tears as

[4:36] when he beheld jerusalem and he saw them

[4:39] as sheep having no shepherd he saw them

[4:41] as

[4:42] people that were scattered abroad

[4:45] no this time his eyes are as a flame of

[4:48] fire

[4:49] he's not wearing the mocking crown of

[4:52] thorns instead he's

[4:54] being crowned with multiple crowns

[4:57] instead of being stripped by his enemies

[5:00] he wears a garment dipped in blood

[5:02] signifying judgment and victory when on

[5:06] earth he was abandoned by his followers

[5:08] but here the armies of heaven follow him

[5:11] in conquest

[5:12] his mouth does not speak words of grace

[5:15] as it did in luke 4 22

[5:17] but rather the word of victory and

[5:20] justice

[5:21] isaiah chapter 11 verse 4

[5:24] he comes to rule and to reign with a rod

[5:27] of iron

[5:28] he comes not to bear the wrath of god on

[5:30] the cross

[5:32] but to tread the winepress of god's

[5:34] wrath at the battle of armageddon

[5:36] because he is king of kings

[5:39] and lord of lords

[5:42] that first phrase there as i mentioned

[5:44] to you heaven is open

[5:46] god opened heaven twice in revelation

[5:48] chapter 4 verse 1 and here in

[5:51] now there are notable differences

[5:53] between these two times

[5:55] in chapter four it was open and the

[5:58] church went up into heaven

[6:00] it's not opened again until chapter 19

[6:04] and in chapter 19 it when it's opened

[6:06] the saints of god return with the lord

[6:10] it's open so that we might go up

[6:13] and then it's open so that we might come

[6:15] down

[6:16] the first is done in the rapture the

[6:19] second is done in the second coming

[6:21] in the rapture of the lord he comes for

[6:24] us

[6:25] and the second coming of the lord he

[6:27] comes with us

[6:29] now there are some notable differences

[6:31] between the rapture and the second

[6:33] coming of christ

[6:35] in the rapture christ comes for his

[6:37] saints

[6:38] and the second coming christ comes with

[6:41] his saints

[6:42] in the rapture christ meets the saints

[6:44] in the air because we will meet him in

[6:47] the clouds

[6:48] and the second coming christ's feet will

[6:51] touch down on the mount of olives and it

[6:54] will be the touchdown place for christ

[6:56] but it will split

[6:58] and a very great valley will be formed

[7:01] there turn in your bibles to zechariah

[7:04] 14

[7:05] and verse number 4.

[7:07] zechariah 14 4 says this and his feet

[7:10] shall stand in that day

[7:12] upon the mount of olives which is before

[7:15] jerusalem on the east and the mount of

[7:17] olives shall cleave in the midst thereof

[7:20] toward the east and toward the west and

[7:22] there shall be a very great valley and

[7:25] half of the mountains shall remove

[7:26] toward the north and half of it toward

[7:29] the south so when christ comes back

[7:31] there's going to be this great valley

[7:33] the mount of olives is going to split

[7:36] now some think that this will make a

[7:38] gigantic causeway between the jordan

[7:40] river and the mediterranean sea

[7:43] and when jesus comes back it'll be a

[7:45] cataclysmic event which will go beyond

[7:48] being an earthquake to be an

[7:51] earth-moving event unlike anything that

[7:54] has ever happened when christ sets down

[7:57] on earth it's going to change the very

[8:00] core of earth as itself

[8:04] as we continue on thinking about that

[8:06] though

[8:07] in the rapture the coming of the lord

[8:09] happens with great blessings in mind in

[8:12] first thessalonians 4 13-18 we can look

[8:15] at those verses later

[8:16] in the second coming the coming of the

[8:19] lord comes with great

[8:20] judgment

[8:22] now the rapture is imminent it could

[8:24] happen at any time

[8:26] one country preacher put it this way the

[8:28] i believe in the in a minute rapture

[8:32] in a minute it could happen at any

[8:34] moment

[8:36] and the second coming is at least seven

[8:38] years from this moment but because it

[8:41] cannot come till the end of the

[8:42] tribulation period is complete

[8:45] now i want you to look at his

[8:46] transportation when he comes

[8:48] it says he comes riding a white horse

[8:51] a white horse shows christ royalty the

[8:54] judgment and war

[8:56] in his first advent he wrote a donkey

[8:58] matthew chapter 21 verses 4 through 11.

[9:02] contrast to this the white horse rider

[9:04] in revelation chapter 6 verses 1 and 2.

[9:07] that's not jesus in revelation 6 it's

[9:11] the antichrist

[9:13] for those who dispute the littleness of

[9:15] horses from heaven

[9:17] look up second kings chapter 2 verse 11

[9:20] or second kings chapter 6 verse 17

[9:23] when elijah was met with the horses of

[9:26] fire

[9:27] and elisha showed the horses and

[9:29] chariots of fire

[9:31] so animals are in heaven

[9:34] at least horses are for sure maybe some

[9:36] other ones as well

[9:38] here's some specific titles that are

[9:40] given to christ in his return he's

[9:42] called faithful and true

[9:45] at his first coming he was the lamb of

[9:47] god which came to take away the sins of

[9:50] the world but at his second coming he is

[9:53] faithful and true and that he carries

[9:55] out every promise he has ever made

[9:58] on through the text he has a name that

[10:01] no one knows but god himself

[10:04] i want to know that name but i'm not god

[10:07] but maybe one day god will tell us what

[10:10] that name is

[10:11] he also is called the word of god in

[10:14] verse 13. he says it was clothed the

[10:17] vesture did the blood and his name is

[10:19] called the word of god

[10:21] and he's called the king of kings and

[10:24] the lord of lords now i want to remind

[10:26] you of something this is not in the

[10:28] notes that means it's just free extra

[10:30] stuff today

[10:32] when we read that title king of kings

[10:35] and lord of lords we ought to be

[10:36] reminded that one day every knee will

[10:39] bow and every tongue will confess

[10:42] that jesus christ is lord there are two

[10:45] options to bowing you can bow your heart

[10:48] to jesus christ and accept him as your

[10:51] savior or you can stand against god and

[10:55] choose him not as your savior and at the

[10:57] great white throne judgment of god you

[11:00] will bow and you will confess that he's

[11:03] lord but you'll bow and then receive the

[11:05] judgment depart from me i never

[11:09] knew you and you will spend eternity in

[11:11] the lake of fire as we look at our text

[11:15] today he's the king of kings and he's

[11:17] the lord of lords

[11:19] these names represent who jesus is when

[11:22] he comes to earth as the one with the

[11:25] name written that no man knew but he

[11:27] himself

[11:28] it's the peak of his glory the word of

[11:31] god speaks to his incarnation we read

[11:34] that in john 1 1 in the beginning was

[11:36] the word and the word was with god and

[11:38] the word was god and in verse 14 of john

[11:41] 1 the word became flesh and dwelt among

[11:45] us and we beheld his glory as of the

[11:47] only begotten of the father full of

[11:49] grace and truth talking about jesus and

[11:51] his earthly birth but i friend he's

[11:54] still the word of god

[11:56] he's the faithful and true one he's the

[11:58] king of kings and lord of lords when it

[12:01] says that it speaks to his second coming

[12:04] when he will rule and reign

[12:06] he's all seeing the bible says his eyes

[12:09] were as a flame of fire we could put it

[12:12] this way he's got x-ray eyes he sees

[12:15] everything nothing is hidden from him

[12:18] and nothing will be missed you can look

[12:21] at the description in revelation chapter

[12:23] 1 verse 14 and chapter 2 verse 18 that

[12:26] also talks about that

[12:28] he's all powerful on his head were many

[12:32] crowns not one crown not two crowns but

[12:35] many crowns he is the uncontested ruler

[12:38] of the world

[12:40] when the beast and the false prophet

[12:41] were mentioned it named the number of

[12:43] crowns they had but here it says that

[12:46] christ wore many crowns

[12:49] his clothing his vesture is dipped in

[12:52] blood

[12:53] jesus took a bloodbath when he died for

[12:56] the sins of men at calvary

[12:59] and then here many saints and martyrs

[13:01] died for the lord and paid with their

[13:03] lives

[13:04] the blood on the vesture of jesus

[13:06] indicates that it's time for his

[13:08] vengeance to be pain isaiah chapter 63

[13:12] verses one through six

[13:15] portrays christ wearing raiment stained

[13:17] in blood

[13:18] with his enemies let's read those verses

[13:21] together today isaiah

[13:24] chapter number 63

[13:26] and verses one through six

[13:29] it says this who is this that cometh

[13:32] from edom with dyed garments from bozera

[13:35] this that is a glorious in his apparel

[13:38] traveling in the greatness of his street

[13:40] i that speak in righteousness mighty to

[13:43] save wherefore art thou

[13:45] red and thine apparel and thy garments

[13:48] like him that treadeth in the wine fat i

[13:50] have trodden the wine pressed alone and

[13:53] of the people there was none with me for

[13:55] i will tread them in mine anger and

[13:58] trample them in my fury and their blood

[14:01] shall be sprinkled upon my garments and

[14:04] i will stain all my raiment for the day

[14:07] of vengeance is in mine heart and the

[14:09] year of my redeemed is come and i looked

[14:12] and there was none to help and i

[14:15] wondered that there was none to uphold

[14:17] therefore my own arm brought salvation

[14:19] unto me and my fury it upheld me and i

[14:23] will tread down the people in mine anger

[14:25] and make them drunk in my fury and i

[14:28] will bring down their strength to earth

[14:31] in those verses there it is describing

[14:34] the judgment of god god is judging this

[14:38] world and when he judges he's the only

[14:40] one that can he's the righteous judge

[14:43] he's the only one that can judge it for

[14:46] the sins of the world you'll notice in

[14:48] verse number 14 that there is the armies

[14:52] of christ notice the armies are plural

[14:55] when jesus comes back he's not coming

[14:57] back alone

[14:58] he's got armies and they're dressed in

[15:01] white they don't have to do anything

[15:04] when the lord speaks the war is over

[15:07] those armies are the same people from

[15:09] heaven which is understood by their

[15:11] clothing because they've been redeemed

[15:14] they're a militant force

[15:16] it was a time that paul referred to in 2

[15:19] thessalonians chapter 1 verses 7 and 10

[15:22] and jude referred to

[15:24] and judges 14 15 enoch also the seventh

[15:27] from adam prophesied of these saying

[15:30] behold the lord cometh with ten

[15:32] thousands of his saints to execute

[15:35] judgment upon all and to convince all

[15:38] that are ungodly among them of all their

[15:40] ungodly deeds which they have ungodly

[15:43] committed and of all their hard speeches

[15:46] which ungodly sinners have spoken

[15:48] against these are not merely symbols

[15:51] these are real now these are real

[15:55] believers that are with him now they

[15:58] don't fight

[15:59] they do have the satisfaction of

[16:01] watching christ vindicate them when he

[16:04] destroys the satanic armies of the world

[16:07] the same god who spoke the world into

[16:10] existence who spoke things into creation

[16:13] with the word of his mouth will destroy

[16:15] the enemies of god

[16:17] i want you also to notice the authority

[16:20] of christ he's got a sharp sword this is

[16:24] the fulfillment of isaiah 11 verse

[16:26] number 4 and he shall smite the earth

[16:28] with the rod of his mouth and with the

[16:30] breath of his lips shall he slay the

[16:32] wicked the sharp sword is the word of

[16:35] god hebrews 4 12 speaks of that

[16:38] it is his word that created the world

[16:41] and it is his word which will defeat his

[16:44] enemies the armies merely view this

[16:46] battle a demonstration of this was given

[16:49] in john 18 6. as soon then as he had

[16:53] said unto them i am he they went

[16:55] backward and fell to the ground

[16:58] in luke 19 verses 12 through 27 the

[17:01] nobleman who went to a far country and

[17:03] then returned is portraying this event

[17:06] the passage is the complete fulfillment

[17:08] of psalm 2 and 24. verse 15 speaks of

[17:12] jesus ruling the world with a rod of

[17:15] iron when jesus overthrows the world

[17:17] rebellion he demonstrates his absolute

[17:20] sovereignty of god as king of kings and

[17:24] lord of lords isaiah 9 6 says and the

[17:27] government shall be upon his shoulder my

[17:30] friend today no matter what happens in

[17:33] this world god is on the throne jesus

[17:36] christ is the king of kings and lord of

[17:39] lords the world may come against us

[17:41] governments may fail you but jesus

[17:44] christ will never fail and soon and very

[17:47] soon the rapture of the church will

[17:49] happen but my friends seven years from

[17:51] then we're all coming back

[17:54] ruling and reigning with christ and

[17:56] glorified bodies riding on a white horse

[17:59] and we're going to see him speak the

[18:01] destruction of the armies that oppose

[18:03] him my friend don't get discouraged by

[18:06] this world remember jesus is coming and

[18:09] he's coming very soon and you might see

[18:11] him soon remember also he's going to

[18:13] bring about victory

[18:15] if you've read through the end of the

[18:17] book of revelation you know this

[18:19] in the end god wins the world may be

[18:22] advancing now and heading in a direction

[18:25] now that you think they're advancing and

[18:27] they're going to win they're losing the

[18:30] world's going to lose satan's going to

[18:32] lose in the end god wins and guess what

[18:35] we get to be there and we get to witness

[18:38] it that ought to make you excited today

[18:41] that no matter how evil progresses today

[18:44] they will not win god wins in the end

[18:48] jesus christ is the king of kings and

[18:50] lord of lords the verse doesn't say that

[18:53] he was or that he will be it's is he's

[18:57] present tense he's still the king of

[18:59] kings he's still the lord of lords he

[19:01] rules and reigns and one day we're going

[19:04] to get to see it in person if you know

[19:07] the lord jesus christ as your savior so

[19:10] take courage jesus christ is on the

[19:13] winning side and i pray that you're on

[19:15] the winning side if you don't know jesus

[19:17] christ as your savior you can know that

[19:20] today the bible clearly teaches us how

[19:23] to know that

[19:24] if you have any questions feel free to

[19:26] call us here at bible baptist church our

[19:28] office number is 405-262-2557

[19:40] clouds to meet the lord in the air if

[19:44] the rapture doesn't happen we'll see you

[19:45] next time right here on revelation

[19:49] revealed god bless you and have a

[19:51] wonderful

[19:52] wonderful day
