[0:00] for today's top avoiding the next one.
[0:02] Stay right where you are. The 10:00 news
[0:03] starts right now
[0:08] >> live. Kurt Ledllo, Shauna Parsons,
[0:12] meteorologist Rod Hill, and Tim Becker.
[0:15] Sports. This is the 10:00 news.
[0:19] >> Good evening and happy new year. Kurt
[0:21] has the night off. While the rest of the
[0:23] country rings in the new year, the
[0:25] entire state of Oregon is just quacking
[0:26] it up for the Ducks. Today's Fiesta Bowl
[0:28] in Arizona wasn't even close. Dan
[0:31] Christopherson's here to kick off our
[0:32] team coverage. A lot of smiling faces in
[0:34] Oregon tonight, huh?
[0:35] >> Did they hear my quack in the
[0:37] background?
[0:37] >> Yeah, I heard it. I'm sure they did,
[0:39] too.
[0:39] >> As long as you heard it, that's all
[0:40] right. All right, mark it down, Shauna.
[0:42] Mark it down, everybody. New Year's Day
[0:44] 2002. The new high point in Oregon
[0:46] College football in history. The number
[0:48] two ranked Ducks destroy Colorado and
[0:51] stake their claim for a piece of the
[0:52] national championship in the Fiesta
[0:54] Bowl. The Buffalo's only big run came
[0:56] when Ralphie came out. The mascot ducks
[0:59] in rare form. Portland's very own Joey
[1:01] Harrington, the quarterback. Nothing
[1:03] short of brilliant in his final college
[1:05] game after spotting Colorado a seven
[1:08] nothing lead. Perfect 28 yd strike to
[1:10] Keenan Howry. 7-7 in the first. And here
[1:12] is the Harrington pass that freezes the
[1:15] Buffaloos in their tracks. He goes deep
[1:17] and a perfect strike to Sammy Parker
[1:20] into the end zone. 79 yds. That ties a
[1:23] Fiesta Bowl record for distance. You can
[1:26] tell Joey's in a hurry to put Colorado
[1:27] away. And the Ducks
