[0:02] >> from ABC News. This is World News

[0:06] Sunday. Tonight, reporting from Moscow,

[0:09] here's Diane Sawyer.

[0:10] >> Good evening from Red Square in Moscow.

[0:13] The war in the Gulf continued without

[0:15] pause today as the allies pounded Iraqi

[0:17] army positions and new skirmishes broke

[0:20] out along the Kuwait Saudi border. Even

[0:23] so, the eyes of the world have turned

[0:24] here toward Moscow tonight. The Iraqi

[0:27] foreign minister is here for a talk

[0:29] tomorrow with the Soviet president. And

[1:10] was here, President Gorbachoff warned

[1:12] him if Baghdad did not back down, the UN

[1:15] Security Council would authorize the use

[1:17] of force. This time, he'll tell him a

[1:20] Kuwaiti withdrawal must begin without

[1:22] conditions.

[1:24] Moscow's Baghdad envoy Primikov today

[1:28] called attention to the Iraqi UN

[1:30] ambassador's view that Baghdad is not

[1:32] insisting on preconditions, merely

[1:34] talking points, urging flexibility on

[1:37] both sides. Primikov sees the Iraqis as
