[0:53] American consumers seem ready willing
[0:55] and able to give it a go surprising the
[0:58] analysts us consumer confidence jumped
[1:01] this month halting a 5 month slide that
[1:04] got the bulls running on Wall Street the
[1:06] Dow Rose 260 points its third big gain
[1:10] in a row and even the deflated NASDAQ
[1:12] picked up 53 cbs's Wyatt Andrews has
[1:15] more on the American public's improving
[1:17] economic
[1:19] mood finally some good news American
[1:23] consumer confidence as measured by the
[1:25] respected conference board spiked
[1:27] sharply upward in March after five
[1:30] straight months of decline simply put
[1:32] never mind the losses on Wall Street and
[1:34] never mind all the layoffs most
[1:36] consumers like these Shoppers for
[1:38] electronics in New York think the
[1:40] economy is sound I feel really good
[1:42] about the economy I think that America
[1:44] is quite strong right now and more
[1:46] important consumers still plan to spend
[1:49] they're looking for the latest and the
[1:50] greatest the fastest and the sm
