[8:35] about that as well and so I want you to

[8:37] pay attention there is a need all across

[8:40] this country for Bible preaching

[8:44] churches and I want you to pay attention

[8:46] tonight to what the Lord might have for

[8:48] us this

[8:51] evening in the Gospel of John as Jesus

[8:55] stood trial an interesting conversation

[8:57] took place between pilot and Jesus

[9:00] Jesus testifying of himself told pilate

[9:03] that I should bear witness unto the

[9:04] truth everyone that is of the truth

[9:06] heareth my voice pilate's response to

[9:09] Jesus was asked what is

[9:12] truth what is truth this little question

[9:17] is immensely significant it is a

[9:19] personal question which every person

[9:22] must answer in their lives it is a

[9:24] question that is timeless and is just as

[9:26] relevant today as it was when it was

[9:28] first spoken

[9:30] and it will continue to be relevant into

[9:32] tomorrow it is also an eternal question

[9:36] that determines the Eternal Destiny of

[9:38] every person this little question is so

[9:41] significant that it cannot be left

[9:44] unanswered the need for people to find

[9:47] truth cannot be

[9:49] overestimated all around us confusion

[9:52] and lies abound people today are

[9:56] increasingly finding themselves at the

[9:58] crossroads of confusion and Truth The

[10:02] Only Hope for them to navigate this

[10:04] dangerous Crossroads is the church God

[10:07] said the church is the pillar and ground

[10:10] of the truth therefore what all people

[10:14] need in every city and town is a church

[10:18] where they can find the truth hi I'm

[10:21] Jeremy Jacob I personally know the great

[10:24] need for a church where you can find the

[10:26] truth currently I live live in lever

[10:30] Minnesota which is a rural town of about

[10:32] 5,000 people in southwest Minnesota in

[10:36] lever there was no church I could attend

[10:38] to hear the truth because of this I

[10:42] traveled 30 miles to attend church at

[10:44] Eide Baptist Church in sou Fall South

[10:46] Dakota where the truth is taught so I

[10:50] know firsthand the significant need for

[10:52] more

[10:53] churches the need to have access to a

[10:56] good church in L Minnesota is not is

[10:59] something I'm aware of but so is God God

[11:03] knew that lever and the surrounding area

[11:06] needed access to a good church where the

[11:08] truth could be heard and he put into

[11:10] motion a plan to meet this need by

[11:13] starting a new church in October of

[11:17] 2023 God called me to start a church in

[11:21] leverne although the call of God became

[11:23] clear in October he had been speaking to

[11:26] me about this for some time two years

[11:29] earlier God had directed my family and I

[11:33] to move to be at our home Church of East

[11:35] Side Baptist in moving back I needed a

[11:39] place to live and the house that I found

[11:41] for my family was in lever shortly after

[11:44] moving into lever a historic church

[11:46] building came up for sale and I thought

[11:49] someone should start a church there

[11:52] later after many tripses Who falls I

[11:55] would tell God that if someone wanted to

[11:57] start a church that I would be more than

[11:59] willing to help that person as the

[12:02] months moved on the missions Revival was

[12:04] coming up at East Side Baptist and we

[12:07] were encouraged to pray that God would

[12:09] call someone into missions and this is

[12:11] what I did then just a couple of weeks

[12:14] later as I drove to church on a Sunday

[12:17] morning I was thinking about a building

[12:20] that came up for sale and how that

[12:22] someone could use it as a church and

[12:24] that is when God spoke to me about being

[12:26] the one to start a church in lever so

[12:29] after two years of God's working on my

[12:32] life I surrendered to his call planting

[12:34] a church in L in Fall of 2020 Eastside

[12:39] Baptist Church here in sou Falls we

[12:41] hosted our our first church planting

[12:43] conference with a focus on our region of

[12:46] the country and and uh God laid it on my

[12:48] heart at that time to begin praying for

[12:51] someone to come out of east side and go

[12:54] to plan a church in in this area and

[12:57] little did I know that God would bring

[12:58] the Jacob family um here after they had

[13:01] Roots here and God LED them away and

[13:04] then brought them back for a season to

[13:06] reset and figure out what was next for

[13:08] them and God's grown them and worked in

[13:10] their hearts and worked in their family

[13:13] over the last couple years and and uh

[13:15] then he began working in brother

[13:17] Jeremy's heart to plant a church in the

[13:19] city they live in leer Minnesota and uh

[13:21] we're excited to get behind them brother

[13:24] Jeremy loves the Lord uh he handles the

[13:26] word well uh him and his family have

[13:28] grown grown in the last few years and

[13:30] I'm thankful to see how God's using and

[13:33] changing and molding them and I really

[13:35] believe they'll make a difference there

[13:36] in the Vern and I hope that you'll

[13:38] consider getting behind this family as

[13:41] they take the gospel to Uncharted

[13:43] Territory consider for a moment the

[13:46] church you are currently attending and

[13:49] the blessing it is to you imagine you

[13:52] didn't have access to that church any

[13:55] longer what kind of impact would that

[13:57] make on your life

[14:00] now consider for a moment the city of L

[14:04] which doesn't have a Bible believing

[14:06] Church like the one you attend and the

[14:08] void that has been left in the families

[14:10] there would you then please consider

[14:13] supporting the Jacob family in l through

[14:16] prayer and giving 1 Corinthians 3:6 says

[14:20] I have planted Apollo's watered but God

[14:25] gave the

[14:28] increase e

[15:01] so it it is interesting to realize so

[15:04] the in the city of L and just uh how

[15:07] God's working is uh so in leverne there

[15:10] is a a First Baptist Church in that town

[15:15] and uh I believe back in the 60s they

[15:18] had sent families uh to sou Fall South

[15:22] Dakota and to start a church in sou

[15:24] Falls South Dakota that church that got

[15:27] started in sou Falls was would be later

[15:29] called Eastside Baptist Church in in sou

[15:32] Falls and so God has come full full

[15:35] circle in that and I believe that's just

[15:37] an indication that uh that the of of the

[15:41] need for a good Bible preaching Church

[15:43] uh because a church in the past that

[15:46] probably had a strong witness for Christ

[15:48] is obviously they've changed some things

[15:51] or God wouldn't be asking and wanting

[15:53] another church started in that in that

[15:55] town so it's it is quite interesting

[15:58] what God is doing right now does anyone

[16:01] have any questions about about uh the

[16:04] video about where we're going about how

[16:07] nice it is up there not 110

[16:10] degrees

[16:24] yes so what what our goal is in in a

[16:28] longterm Vision our our vision right now

[16:30] is just focusing on on lever and if God

[16:33] just keeps us there till till we go home

[16:35] to Glory then that's where we're going

[16:36] to be at but both uh uh my sending

[16:39] pastor Pastor Jet and I we would there's

[16:42] just such a need we would like to see

[16:44] more churches planted and so we have

[16:46] some ideas about that and uh about even

[16:49] bringing guys up and to train them and

[16:51] to and to work with them uh going the

[16:55] how people respond to the Bible down

[16:58] here is not the same way people respond

[17:00] to the Bible up up north it it is

[17:03] totally it is totally different and so

[17:06] we under we're entering into this with a

[17:08] mindset we want to bring guys in and we

[17:10] want to help teach them and work beside

[17:12] them those are long-term goals because

[17:15] you have to have a strong network of

[17:17] guys uh because it if one thing that's

[17:21] going to be your constant companion up

[17:23] north is discouragement if you don't

[17:25] have a network to go along with you and

[17:27] you have to have that that very thing

[17:29] and so that's kind of our long-term

[17:31] goals but right now we're just focusing

[17:33] on that but we definitely want to see

[17:35] more churches started

[17:39] yes we uh it was just up for sale um the

[17:44] uh so next year we hope to have Services

[17:47] there's a couple places that we could

[17:48] look at for for renting right now I'm

[17:51] really praying and if you pray to I I

[17:53] would rather have a storefront right

[17:55] away that we could rent and so we don't

[17:57] have to tear down and uh and do that

[18:00] every week which God if that's what God

[18:02] wants us to do that that would be fine

[18:04] uh but uh that one old church building

[18:07] that I mentioned there I'm I'm just

[18:09] praying to see what would happen and

[18:10] maybe a miracle will take place so

[18:13] someone bought that old church building

[18:16] and uh they had to spend like

[18:18] $120,000 on it and they tried to turn it

[18:20] into a house and now they're trying to

[18:22] sell it again they did some work on the

[18:24] outside but you can't really do a lot on

[18:26] the inside because it's a it's literally

[18:29] uh uh

[18:31] historical uh a historical reg it's on

[18:33] the historical registry that's the word

[18:36] I'm trying to get out there and uh so

[18:38] they can't really do anything on the

[18:39] inside so they're trying to sell this

[18:41] house and they first try to sell or sell

[18:43] that building they try to get

[18:45] $240,000 for it and that's not going to

[18:48] happen so now they're down to

[18:50] $180,000 I think and that's not going to

[18:52] happen because nobody's going to buy a

[18:54] building that they can't really do

[18:56] anything with it but there's one thing

[18:57] you can do with it you can have church

[18:59] in it and uh so I am just I I'm just if

[19:04] the Lord is asking us next year you know

[19:07] to get started uh I mean I've got

[19:09] patience and uh maybe they'll get

[19:11] desperate enough and God will work in

[19:13] that but uh we would we would love to

[19:16] have that building and uh but if if not

[19:19] I really would like to have a a

[19:20] storefront and uh so we can do different

[19:23] Ministry things with that y

[19:29] yeah we have a we have a hope that we

[19:32] can start in the in the spring uh that

[19:35] we would have a month long Bible studies

[19:38] in March and then start a week before

[19:40] Easter uh but we're still praying

[19:42] whether that's my time or not because I

[19:45] I've had different individuals uh

[19:48] different preachers that talk about

[19:50] putting us on meetings next year and uh

[19:53] so and I know from from past Ministry

[19:56] experience having the support to go in

[19:59] if if it means waiting and a month or

[20:02] two months later just to have some more

[20:04] supp supporting churches it it's really

[20:07] necessary uh but March is what our goal

[20:10] is uh but that is my desire I just need

[20:13] to confirm whether that's God's desire

[20:15] but next year we will be starting a

[20:17] church so whether it's in the spring or

[20:20] at the beginning of the school year but

[20:22] that is what we're going to be

[20:27] doing uh yes

[20:34] well we yes sir we know quite a few

[20:38] people in town uh just through work and

[20:40] then also through homeschooling and

[20:42] living we live in lever right now and so

[20:45] one family that goes to the First

[20:47] Baptist Church there in town uh if you

[20:50] ran into the ran into that family you

[20:53] would say they don't belong at that

[20:56] church because uh I I I mean uh like the

[21:01] the uh mom and their daughters and stuff

[21:04] they they have the same kind of dress

[21:06] standards and things that we do and just

[21:09] totally they look out of place at the

[21:10] church that they're at so I I'm praying

[21:13] that the Lord may bring them and we have

[21:15] another family uh that goes the East

[21:18] Side they're very involved and they're

[21:20] very talented family and uh it would be

[21:23] a nice even if they could come and help

[21:25] us but uh they're an intrical part of

[21:28] east side so I am not asking them and uh

[21:32] and uh but if God would move them but uh

[21:35] I don't know the God's already been

[21:37] doing stuff so I know that there's going

[21:38] to be some some people there for

[21:42] sure yes

[21:45] sir uh lever is so itself is 5,000

[21:49] people so then it draws it draws from

[21:51] the whole County and not that there's a

[21:53] lot in the county but what makes it

[21:55] interesting is is this is so sou Falls

[21:59] South Dakota has not stopped growing

[22:02] since I grew up south of sou Falls it

[22:04] has not stopped growing my entire life

[22:09] legitimately and I'm 47 years old so

[22:12] from the time I can remember till this

[22:14] very moment today it hasn't stopped

[22:15] growing and uh and because it's growing

[22:18] so much that just right before about a

[22:22] month ago the government has included

[22:25] the county of L as part of the sou Falls

[22:27] metr

[22:29] area so I I can see where where God's

[22:32] long-term vision is is because the city

[22:35] is growing towards us so we are a small

[22:38] real town of 5,000 but we'll be drawing

[22:40] from a lot more than 5,000

[22:43] people yes

[22:48] sir my goal is to only have to work

[22:51] about uh about 10 to 20 hours at a

[22:55] secular job um I've been in small Works

[22:58] before and I and I think it's i i i i

[23:02] it's very hard to do the ministry and

[23:05] work 40 hours and then try to plant a

[23:07] church and do ministry and take care of

[23:09] your family and other things like that

[23:12] uh I don't believe that's a that's a

[23:14] healthy approach to church planting and

[23:17] so our goal is only to work 10 or 20

[23:19] hours of secular work and then get the

[23:21] rest and support and offerings

[23:25] hopefully we just started about a month

[23:28] ago yes sir

[23:32] yep all right any any other yes

[23:44] ma'am so so what I what I so I grow

[23:49] grown up in this area and so from my

[23:50] assessment from what I've been seeing

[23:52] from people that I've been working at is

[23:54] so it's a predominantly Lutheran and

[23:57] Catholic uh area and but I've been

[24:00] noticing this trend and it and it and I

[24:02] and it seems this way so the people that

[24:05] are probably in their 50s or older are

[24:08] going to be very difficult individuals

[24:11] to reach with the with the gospel uh but

[24:15] their children and grandchildren aren't

[24:18] as strong into those things and a lot of

[24:20] them are questioning and a lot of them

[24:23] are going to uh Bible churches or

[24:26] community churches which lets me know

[24:28] one thing they're not finding what they

[24:31] were wanting at mom and dad's church and

[24:34] if there's there's a lot of negative

[24:35] things that's being said about today's

[24:37] youth and today's younger Generations

[24:40] but one thing that is a positive is

[24:42] they're willing to challenge thoughts

[24:45] and ideas they just don't accept it just

[24:48] because Mom and Dad said it I know

[24:50] that's not good at my house with my kids

[24:52] but but when it comes to the gospel and

[24:55] trying to reach other people for Christ

[24:57] and the grow up in pestan I guess I can

[25:00] go ahead and accept that if they

[25:02] challenge their parents' belief system

[25:05] yeah all right any other any other

[25:32] week and so we want to be a blessing to

[25:35] take up our offering tonight any cash

[25:39] given to the Jacob's family just to be a

[33:39] being being honest and uh you know

[33:43] sometimes I I think I don't know if like

[33:46] like if you're like me sometimes we just

[33:48] we just pray and then sometimes I don't

[33:50] think we're just as transparent and

[33:52] honest with God as we need to be and uh

[33:55] sometimes we just we just pray and uh

[33:58] and and it and it's as if God speaks to

[34:00] my heart like can we just cut through

[34:02] all of this and would you just really

[34:04] talk to me and just be transparent with

[34:06] me and uh so I I really appreciate that

[34:10] and that kind of goes before I open up

[34:12] the scriptures and just share a little

[34:13] bit more testimony and stuff um and uh

[34:17] because that that song just just was

[34:19] just was so real to me because um uh we

[34:24] had the call that God has placed for us

[34:26] to to start start a church plant is not

[34:30] what I wanted to do it it seriously was

[34:33] not what I wanted to do um we had been

[34:35] in Works before home missions type Works

[34:39] uh that we got to inherit other people's

[34:42] problems and try to fix the unfixable

[34:46] really and uh when you're in those small

[34:49] Works uh you have I just be honest with

[34:52] you sometimes you got to be you you take

[34:54] a beating all right and uh they're they

[34:56] can be challenging and they can be

[34:58] difficult and so when we uh got back to

[35:01] East Side about three years ago it was

[35:03] kind of time for us just to refresh and

[35:06] reset with our with our family and to

[35:08] put things together then after after a

[35:11] couple of years um then uh we started

[35:14] praying October God had called us but at

[35:17] the beginning of the year started

[35:18] fasting and praying about what God

[35:20] wanted us to do and uh I was very good

[35:23] at defining to God what we should be

[35:26] doing I wasn't really telling asking him

[35:28] what do you want me to do I defined it

[35:30] for him to work it all out and uh and

[35:34] you know I um you know we really just

[35:36] wanted to be somewhere where we had a

[35:38] foundation already really to start

[35:40] working from and then uh so then God

[35:43] made it clear that he wanted us to

[35:45] church plant and uh and to start this

[35:48] church in lne and that's not really what

[35:50] I wanted to do so we had a lot of

[35:53] personal struggles to try to overcome in

[35:55] those things and uh whenever uh whenever

[35:58] I'm in my whenever God calls me to do

[36:01] something I always want scripture to

[36:03] back it up you know because I could

[36:05] convince myself that of something

[36:07] emotionally that might not exactly be

[36:10] what God wants me to be doing and uh so

[36:13] me and my Infinite Wisdom I was in my

[36:15] Bible reading in the Book of Job and I

[36:18] said well God won't speak to me through

[36:19] the Book of Job I mean there's nothing

[36:21] there and God usually gives me something

[36:23] positive when it when in confirming his

[36:26] call but he I I that day when I was

[36:29] thinking that and I was in my Bible

[36:31] reading in job and it just H God just

[36:33] pretty much just stabbed me in the heart

[36:35] and uh because job as he talked to job

[36:38] he said uh God said to him why do you

[36:41] contend with me and God said you've been

[36:45] contending with me the whole time over

[36:47] this subject matter and he said did job

[36:49] have things that he didn't understand

[36:51] what took place in his life and all this

[36:54] and God had to give me to a point where

[36:55] like you're you're not fighting

[36:58] you're fighting against me you're

[36:59] contending against me and uh and so I

[37:01] had to get real honest with God and uh

[37:03] so that's why that song is is Meaningful

[37:06] to me too is know we just got to be

[37:08] honest with with God so truly appreciate

[37:26] it tonight m Matthew 13 uh verse 44 if

[37:30] you're able to do that tonight we're

[37:32] just looking at uh um one verse and

[37:35] Matthew

[37:36] 13 and uh verse 44 and uh hopefully as

[37:41] we look at this tonight and uh you may

[37:43] say well this seems like an odd text but

[37:47] um there's a truth I want us to see here

[37:50] tonight and hopefully it can convey it

[37:52] here uh verse 44 the Bible says again

[37:56] the Kingdom of Heaven is like under a

[37:58] treasure hidden in a field the which

[38:00] when a man hath found he hideth uh and

[38:04] for Joy thereof goeth and sth all that

[38:07] he hath and and buth that field again it

[38:12] says the Kingdom of Heaven is like under

[38:14] treasure hidden a field the which when a

[38:18] man hath found he hideth and for Joy

[38:20] thereof goeth and sth all that he hath

[38:23] and buth that field well may God bless

[38:26] in the reading of his of his word and go

[38:28] ahead and be

[38:30] seated and uh and I do like looking uh

[38:34] at at the The Parables that are known in

[38:38] Matthew Chapter 13 a as the as the

[38:40] kingdom Parables uh for where we are at

[38:44] right now not just for myself and uh

[38:47] there's great truths that I use in my

[38:49] own life for Ministry but also where we

[38:52] find ourselves at as Believers these

[38:55] Parables that were referred to here are

[38:58] known as mystery Parables these were new

[39:00] revelation that was given to us by uh

[39:03] given to us by Jesus Christ and be

[39:06] because of the uh this Revelation that

[39:09] he has given to us this new truth and

[39:11] this truth would apply then in the time

[39:14] that we find ourselves in he is giving

[39:17] Parables that would be in the period of

[39:19] time between the time of his first

[39:21] coming and a second coming and knowing

[39:23] that Christ has not come again then

[39:26] everything that I can learn from this

[39:28] chapter will apply to the conditions and

[39:30] the times that we find ourselves living

[39:32] in do you want to know what what Christ

[39:35] Kingdom and his work is going to be like

[39:37] in this day and age then you would go to

[39:39] Matthew chapter number 13 and you would

[39:42] do your your best to understand and

[39:45] glean as much truth as you can get from

[39:47] here because Christ has given us uh

[39:50] given us a a recipe he has given us

[39:54] truth that will be applicable that will

[39:56] be helpful during the time that we that

[39:59] we find ourselves in this current time

[40:02] and so we want to look at this Parable

[40:04] tonight and see how that that relates uh

[40:07] recently um at our house we've uh we've

[40:12] decided to do something uh do something

[40:14] different uh at our house and uh with

[40:18] our with our family and I forgot to

[40:20] introduce my wife who's here Vicki and I

[40:23] have 12 12 children uh Jesse Joanna

[40:28] Jonah Julia Jenna Jonathan Joel James

[40:32] Jubilee uh Josephine Jedediah Judson I

[40:35] got them all all right so we have 12 of

[40:38] them so I don't know if you can believe

[40:41] this or not but at Christmas time it

[40:44] it's just a hot mess at our house it's

[40:47] just like I I mean somewhere there are

[40:49] human beings living in the pile of stuff

[40:53] and boxes and wrapping paper I mean we

[40:56] almost have to have the apps turned on

[40:59] to locate people and uh it it is and uh

[41:02] it's just kind of crazy and so in in in

[41:06] time I begin to notice this and if

[41:08] you're like me that um all all a sudden

[41:11] you begin to realize that you know do

[41:13] you ever remember really what you got

[41:15] even like last year or maybe a couple

[41:17] years from now yeah we don't and we just

[41:19] have this pile of stuff so we decided

[41:22] we're going to start doing family

[41:23] vacations and use the money instead of

[41:25] buying gifts do family vacations and so

[41:27] the first year we did it it it went

[41:30] pretty well this year was our our second

[41:33] year and so we uh had a man from our our

[41:36] church uh that has a cabin in the Black

[41:39] Hills of South Dakota it's where Mount

[41:41] Rushmore is if you're if you understand

[41:44] that and uh we thought this is great we

[41:47] had we planned things out not just what

[41:50] we're going to wear and take with but

[41:52] we're going to make sure we get the most

[41:54] out of our time and we had things

[41:55] planned out and so we went out there on

[41:58] on the on this on this trip started on

[42:01] on a Monday and we went through What's

[42:03] called the bad lands of South Dakota

[42:05] there and uh you end up coming out there

[42:08] and there's a there's a place called

[42:10] Wall Drug uh if you've not been there

[42:12] you just got to put it on your bucket

[42:14] list it's just one of those things you

[42:16] got to see at some point there's not a

[42:18] lot there but you just got to say you've

[42:19] been a wall drug and so we went there

[42:22] and everything was going well we went to

[42:24] go get gas and then I noticed there was

[42:26] like this is at the beginning of May

[42:28] there's like two dots on the on the on

[42:31] the on the weather app that said there's

[42:33] like a winter storm watch or warning

[42:36] like I'm I'm like what in the world is

[42:38] going on like two little circles I'm

[42:40] like well that's nothing really to worry

[42:42] about and then we got to the we when we

[42:44] finally got back to the cabin it's like

[42:46] an hour drive back there and uh and then

[42:49] it was just starting to rain and then

[42:51] there was some

[42:52] snowflakes and uh so we were starting to

[42:55] get some snow everything still was going

[42:57] fine and then about the middle of the

[42:59] night I had one of those experiences

[43:01] where everything you can tell that the

[43:04] power went out you ever wake up to one

[43:05] of those the power is out and so the now

[43:08] the power the power is out and so uh we

[43:12] got up in the morning and realized that

[43:14] trees had fallen and taken out the power

[43:16] and I thought well we'll get out we'll

[43:17] take our other vehicle and we'll try to

[43:19] get out and then there was a tree in the

[43:21] road and so I had to go find a chainsaw

[43:24] to cut that tree out and then uh later

[43:27] there's more trees that fell down and

[43:29] the owner uh cousin had to come driving

[43:33] to help us out and so about tin trees

[43:35] had to be cut out and we still didn't

[43:38] have power yet and so we thought to

[43:40] ourselves maybe we should just go home

[43:42] and try to you know figure out something

[43:43] else and then our big 15 passenger van

[43:46] got like stuck in the soft ground and we

[43:50] worked for hours trying to dig this

[43:52] thing out I mean it was just an awful

[43:54] mess things weren't turning out very

[43:56] spiritually

[43:57] uh we were not having Revival that that

[44:01] was not taking place at all none of

[44:04] those things and so I tell you all of

[44:07] those things for this very reason we had

[44:10] plans that we had intended to follow

[44:12] through that was on a Tuesday we were

[44:14] going to do all these things and that

[44:17] one day just through through that whole

[44:20] day off and really threw off the rest of

[44:22] the week everything that we had planned

[44:25] our plans as well intended as they were

[44:29] they failed they they didn't they didn't

[44:32] go they didn't work out the way that we

[44:34] wanted to and and and telling this story

[44:37] and maybe it brings something to your

[44:39] own mind or maybe you can relate to the

[44:41] fact that sometimes we just plan things

[44:43] out really well and no matter how well

[44:46] we plan them they just don't turn out

[44:48] very well they kind of fail they kind of

[44:51] fall flat to be be honest with you and

[44:55] it's that kind of thought and that kind

[44:56] of thinking that many many times we've

[44:58] all experienced plans that have failed

[45:01] and that type of thinking and that type

[45:03] of mentality many times can extend to to

[45:07] other areas of our life that we can have

[45:10] that kind of thinking in in our lives

[45:12] and we can even transpose it into to our

[45:15] spiritual lives into our Christian lives

[45:17] and even into the work work of Christ

[45:20] and that we could look at the day and

[45:21] age that that we that we find ourselves

[45:24] in and and be even if we apply to

[45:26] specific specifically to to planting

[45:28] churches or doing missions work we may

[45:30] even say to our ourselves is is this

[45:33] really worthwhile because look at what

[45:37] you see around us and it would give all

[45:39] appearances that what is going on is

[45:41] nothing but a failure in the plan that

[45:44] has been put in

[45:45] place is is that not true when I when I

[45:48] watch the Olympics and I watch a mockery

[45:52] of the Lord's Supper being made by a

[45:55] bunch of wicked individuals and I look

[45:57] at something like that I would have to

[45:59] ask myself and look at it an honest

[46:01] perspective that this all powerful

[46:04] gospel that we have has it failed what

[46:08] what has gone on here because it would

[46:11] all together look like when you take

[46:13] things like that in a quick snapshot you

[46:15] would say God has your plans failed in

[46:18] the day and age that we find ourselves

[46:20] in and should we really even be doing

[46:23] anything for for Christ should we be

[46:25] trying to live for Christ should should

[46:27] we be trying to do missions should we be

[46:28] trying to plant churches because God it

[46:30] looks like all I see is object

[46:34] failure and it brings us to this

[46:37] chapter because this chapter Jesus

[46:40] leading up to this parable of the HIIT

[46:43] Treasures has just told a group of

[46:46] Parables four of them that when you

[46:49] understand them this looks like object

[46:51] failure if you were one of his one of

[46:54] his disciples because he taught them

[46:57] that that there's going to be a swer

[46:58] he's going to go out and swow and if you

[47:00] were going to take percentage wise which

[47:02] I don't know if we could even do that

[47:04] but if you would say there' be a 75%

[47:07] failure rate then you're going to have

[47:10] an adversary who is intentionally

[47:14] deceiving that sowing false Believers to

[47:17] try to impede the work of Christ you are

[47:20] are seeing a false and unnatural growth

[47:23] and infusion of false Doctrine into the

[47:26] into to Christ's Kingdom and his work

[47:29] during this time and if you're his

[47:31] disciples you'd be like this sounds like

[47:33] a great ministry to find myself in one

[47:36] that's doomed for

[47:38] failure and what I find interesting is

[47:40] that starting with the parable of the

[47:42] Head Treasure Jesus has taken his

[47:44] disciples aside privately the first four

[47:47] were for everyone else to hear these

[47:49] next one are for his disciples I think

[47:51] that's for a reason he's like boys it's

[47:53] a lot better than what you think right

[47:55] now just sit down I got to tell you

[47:57] something and so he begins telling them

[47:59] this these Parables and the first one

[48:02] that he began to tell is the parable of

[48:04] the hid treasure now it seems like a

[48:07] really kind of kind of different uh kind

[48:10] of different uh Parable for us in our

[48:13] own context and in our own day and age

[48:15] that we live in because here you got

[48:17] this guy who's out there doing doing

[48:19] farmwork he's a Hired Hand and he's out

[48:22] there I don't know if he if he's plowing

[48:25] he's discing I I don't know he's doing

[48:27] out there but all of a sudden he hits

[48:29] this big clunk out there he's probably

[48:32] thinking to himself man another one of

[48:33] those big rocks out there and he goes

[48:36] and scoots the dirt back but it's not a

[48:39] rock this time kind of looks like a

[48:42] box kind of heavy I who somebody put a

[48:46] box out here you see they didn't have

[48:48] Banks like we do now so they had hide

[48:50] money in their fields often times it's

[48:52] like maybe this is my lucky day and he

[48:56] opens it it opens it up and I I'm

[48:59] telling you it's like you found pirate

[49:01] treasure I'm mean one of those pirate

[49:03] treasure movies and I mean he's opening

[49:06] it up and it is full of value it is full

[49:10] of riches I mean I could just think of

[49:12] diamonds I can just think of this whole

[49:14] thing and I mean this guy's eyes had a

[49:16] bug out like I have found this and my

[49:21] boss doesn't know about it that's that's

[49:23] pretty good because it's almost like the

[49:25] Finders Keepers losers weeper mentality

[49:28] and it's just like hey what does what he

[49:31] doesn't know can't hurt him right I mean

[49:33] he he had this field he had his

[49:36] opportunity but it but so this

[49:40] man this is just strange to

[49:42] me he takes everything that he has so

[49:48] let me step back he takes that treasure

[49:50] and then he covers it back up and he

[49:51] hides it he hides it again and then he

[49:55] goes and takes everything that he has I

[49:57] mean this guy do has full liquidation I

[50:00] mean he's he is he is selling stocks I

[50:03] mean he's clearing out his 401k I mean

[50:05] he I I mean anything that had value I

[50:08] think he ripped out gold fillings out of

[50:10] his teeth just so he could buy this

[50:13] treasure in the

[50:15] field and then he then he just leaves it

[50:18] there to come back in another day I'm

[50:20] like this seems odd to me you just sold

[50:23] everything you have nothing and you're

[50:25] going to keep this treasure in the field

[50:27] don't you think you might need that

[50:28] treasure since you don't have anything

[50:31] it's a kind of weird

[50:33] Parable but when you begin to understand

[50:35] what Jesus is talking about it it it is

[50:39] it is not that

[50:40] strange and and and I believe the Bible

[50:43] does clearly teach us though unlike the

[50:45] other Parables Jesus didn't come out

[50:47] right and just say hey this is what it

[50:50] means but we we can't know what it means

[50:52] though I do would like to say as a as an

[50:55] asterisk to this thing if you read about

[50:58] some of these Parables I'm just telling

[50:59] you this Parable is not has nothing to

[51:02] do with

[51:03] salvation nothing to do with salvation

[51:06] because no man can purchase salvation

[51:08] all right you you can't give up

[51:10] everything I'm just going to change

[51:12] everything and I'm going to go out and

[51:13] purchase I'm going to go out and

[51:15] purchase uh uh this treasure this gospel

[51:18] treasure it doesn't work that way and

[51:20] it's not even dealing so to speak in

[51:22] relationship to that it's not buying

[51:24] your entrance into the kingdom of heaven

[51:26] you you can't buy your way into this

[51:28] it's only through the shed blood of

[51:30] Jesus Christ will you ever find yourself

[51:33] in a position to be in his kingdom to

[51:36] have salvation so to have this concept

[51:38] of buying and purchasing something on

[51:41] our behalf it doesn't hold any weight it

[51:45] doesn't it doesn't mean that so so we're

[51:47] not dealing with that so let's just

[51:49] cross that off our list but we can know

[51:52] this so we can know the the elements of

[51:56] who who the man and who the field is

[51:59] because Jesus in the context has already

[52:01] defined to us who the man is and who the

[52:04] field is because earlier he taught the

[52:07] parable of the of the wheat and tears

[52:10] and in that he gave this explanation he

[52:13] said he that sth the seed good seed is

[52:17] the son of man the field is the

[52:21] world so just stopped right there Jesus

[52:24] says in the context of you have to look

[52:27] at it there wouldn't he wouldn't give

[52:29] another Parable that would be

[52:30] contradictory to something he had just

[52:32] said and so what he had said is this is

[52:35] this that the man who is planting the

[52:39] man who SWS and casts seed the man who

[52:43] buys the treasure in this field the man

[52:46] who buys this field is none other than

[52:48] Jesus Christ himself by the other

[52:51] Parables we know

[52:53] that and we know them this by by

[52:57] Christ's own words then he is the man

[53:00] and that this field is the world it's

[53:04] the world it's not the kingdom it's the

[53:07] world in other words it is the mass of

[53:11] humanity that we find ourselves in not

[53:14] so much the physical Planet itself but

[53:17] we're talking about the mass of humanity

[53:20] that's in existence okay so then we we

[53:23] are we know this then whatever we're

[53:26] talking about and whatever is being

[53:28] pointed out here is this it's relating

[53:30] to Christ and the rest of the humanity

[53:33] the rest of the world that's there so

[53:35] what there's an interaction that's going

[53:37] going on and in this time there's this

[53:39] interaction something is taking place

[53:42] with Christ and the rest of this world

[53:45] at the time that we are at can we agree

[53:47] with that for sure for sure okay so

[53:51] we're left at one thing what's the

[53:54] treasure that's a good question because

[53:56] that's not defined to us in Chapter

[54:00] 13 but it is defined to us in other

[54:03] places in the Bible so I know this you

[54:07] got to understand who is Jesus talking

[54:10] to who are his disciples what

[54:13] nationality are his

[54:15] disciples they're all Jewish they're

[54:19] they're Israelites they he is talking to

[54:22] them Jesus is one of them and he they

[54:25] would understand then what he was

[54:28] talking about when he's talking about

[54:30] treasure well what was he talking about

[54:32] then to them that they would understand

[54:34] well if you go all the way back to

[54:39] really the birth of Israel as a nation

[54:43] I'm talking about when God redeemed them

[54:45] and brought them out of Egypt that God

[54:47] brought them to a place called Mount Si

[54:50] God said I'm going to give you some laws

[54:52] and some Commandments and I want you to

[54:54] follow these laws and Commandments and

[54:56] this is the reason why I want you to do

[54:58] it now

[54:59] listen now therefore if you obey my

[55:02] voice indeed and keep my Covenant then

[55:03] you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me

[55:07] above all people for all the Earth is

[55:10] mine and ye shall be unto me a kingdom

[55:13] of priests and a holy nation these are

[55:15] the words which Thou shalt speak on the

[55:17] children of Israel and if that's not

[55:19] clear enough what the treasure is listen

[55:22] Psalm 136 ver4 says for the Lord ha

[55:25] chosen Jacob unto himself if you don't

[55:28] know who Jacob is that's Israel and it

[55:31] says and Israel for his pecul

[55:36] treasure so whatever you have going on

[55:39] here listen you have something that's

[55:42] going on that's dealing with Israel

[55:44] Jesus and this world in this present

[55:46] time makes perfect sense it really does

[55:49] these Parables were the result of result

[55:53] of of the Jesus came un his own and his

[55:56] own received him not the the Jews were

[55:58] rejecting his message so he went to

[56:00] Parables it was a form of judgment

[56:02] against them and so when you put it all

[56:04] all together Jesus is really answering

[56:06] an underlying question and we're going

[56:08] to draw a truth from this now listen he

[56:10] is drawing this truth that there there

[56:13] is a work that Jesus Christ is doing on

[56:16] behalf of Israel during this time and

[56:19] that there is something going on with

[56:21] the the nation of Israel in this present

[56:24] time in other words it the Lord Lord has

[56:26] not forgot his people that he made this

[56:29] promise with that God has not forgotten

[56:33] the their very thing and when it said

[56:35] that this man went out and he sold and

[56:38] he gave everything to purchase this

[56:41] treasure I wanted want you to know this

[56:43] that the Bible makes it very clear that

[56:45] salvation came first not to the Gentile

[56:49] but to the Jew first in other words it

[56:51] is talking about though the nation of

[56:53] Israel has rejected him as a messiah

[56:56] that he was going to and did die for

[56:59] them to pay for their sins on the cross

[57:03] even though they have rejected him he

[57:06] still died and he purchased them and

[57:08] when you put it all together this is

[57:09] what it's talking about Israel was

[57:12] supposed to be a light and a reflection

[57:14] of God's glory in this world they

[57:16] utterly failed to do that in the Old

[57:19] Testament and God scattered them where

[57:21] did he scatter them to the field the

[57:25] world and the discovery of the treasure

[57:28] in the field points to when Jesus Christ

[57:30] came unto his own his own received him

[57:34] not he was crucified died and risen

[57:37] again from the dead and he a seated at

[57:40] the right hand of the father and in the

[57:41] meantime though that uh that this nation

[57:44] of Israel he is trying to say to them my

[57:47] work is not done with them yet my work

[57:50] is not done with him yet so let's just

[57:53] tie this all together then so his work

[57:55] is not going going to be done with the

[57:57] nation of Israel then that is in

[58:01] relationship to that so you know what

[58:03] that that's pointing out to me and as I

[58:06] was thinking about this is when I was

[58:08] talking about the beginning about how we

[58:10] have plans that are failed and we have

[58:13] we understand how plans fail what Jesus

[58:15] was trying to show to his Jewish

[58:17] disciples is my plans that I had for

[58:21] this nation are not done

[58:23] with they you may see whol scale

[58:26] rejection and they're going to see

[58:28] rejection to the point where they reject

[58:30] him as their Messiah and will try

[58:32] crucify him they will see those very

[58:35] things but understand this that Jesus is

[58:37] saying to them that God's plan is not

[58:41] over for

[58:43] them we we can find it so easy to accept

[58:47] that very truth right I I mean I like to

[58:49] watch the news and I like to see what's

[58:52] going on in Israel right now and part of

[58:54] the reason why I want to watch it is

[58:55] because this I know that I don't care if

[58:59] all of Hamas and Iran and every other

[59:02] power wants to do something to them that

[59:05] will never be able to eradicate this

[59:07] country because of the what God has

[59:10] promised though regardless of what it

[59:12] may look like that God still has a plan

[59:14] that Jesus Christ died for them so that

[59:16] they could have salvation he's made an

[59:18] eternal promise to them and it will not

[59:21] though they may be hidden in this world

[59:23] right now I'm telling you this they are

[59:25] still God

[59:27] treasure and there is a future for them

[59:30] they will be a glorious Nation to behold

[59:33] one day and they will they will be in

[59:35] righteousness one day I believe that for

[59:38] sure I I believe that and so what we are

[59:43] looking at then is it's easy to accept

[59:45] that very fact God's plan hasn't failed

[59:47] for Israel I'm I'm willing to Guess that

[59:51] I'm in a crowd that would be in

[59:52] agreement with

[59:54] that but why do we have such a struggle

[59:57] in transposing that truth that and we

[60:00] apply it to the nation of Israel but

[60:03] cannot universally apply to every other

[60:06] area no is that not a legitimate

[60:09] question to be asking why is it we are

[60:12] so quick that's God's people God will

[60:14] never let his people down God will

[60:16] defend them God's going to protect them

[60:18] God will one day make of them a great

[60:19] nation God's plan for them will never

[60:21] fail but then in the next breath we can

[60:24] doubt and question God's plans and what

[60:26] he's doing right

[60:28] now really we we can we it's very easy

[60:32] for us to get get that very very point

[60:36] so when I look at this Parable you know

[60:39] the the what is being talked about here

[60:42] in the plans that has for the nation of

[60:44] Israel do you know it's much broader

[60:47] than just the nation of Israel really it

[60:49] is because what was the nation of Israel

[60:51] to do besides reflect God's glory were

[60:54] they not to be a vehicle that God would

[60:58] fulfill his promise that he would bring

[61:00] his savior into the world to bring

[61:01] Salvation to all

[61:03] men he did he talked he gave it in the

[61:06] Garden of Eden he told he told Adam and

[61:09] Eve he said there is going to be coming

[61:11] a seed singular of the woman that will

[61:15] bruise the head of the serpent deal him

[61:17] a death blow destroy him pointing to the

[61:21] Messiah and then God would narrow it

[61:24] down to the nation of Israel and he

[61:26] would promise to Abraham did he not that

[61:28] your seed will be a blessing to the rest

[61:31] of this world and God gave us the

[61:34] interpretation in the New Testament that

[61:36] seed singular is none other than Jesus

[61:39] Christ we don't have time to go through

[61:41] all the New Testament we' be here for a

[61:43] while but that's the truth Paul wrote

[61:45] about that that seed so when we're

[61:48] dealing with this we are dealing then

[61:50] also not just with a nation of Israel we

[61:52] are dealing then with the spiritual

[61:55] condition of every single person because

[61:57] every single person is in the need of

[61:59] Salvation in this

[62:01] world this world is is corrupt when you

[62:04] see things like what happened on the

[62:06] Lord's Supper uh imitation there on the

[62:08] Olympics there it's just further

[62:11] evidence of the fact that this world is

[62:14] in need of Salvation that's all that

[62:15] that really ultimately comes down to

[62:19] that they need to get saved and what

[62:21] lets me know then this

[62:23] is this that God's Plan of Salvation

[62:27] that God's God's ability to save an

[62:30] individual God's ability to do a work in

[62:33] this day and age his plan has not failed

[62:37] at at all that God's plan has not has

[62:41] not been succumb by anything so that's

[62:44] why I started looking at this Parable

[62:46] it's it's it's really good that I can go

[62:49] and plant a church in this day and age

[62:52] regardless if the spiritual and cultural

[62:55] climate would seem to indicate otherwise

[62:58] like this is not the prime prime time to

[63:01] be able to do it I don't even know what

[63:03] the prime time is to to start a church

[63:06] to be honest with you or to plant a

[63:07] church or to do any kind of mission work

[63:10] I don't know what the prime time is but

[63:11] I do know this that in my own heart I

[63:14] had to struggle with God what happens if

[63:16] this church plant fails what happens if

[63:18] nobody comes and God had to remind me

[63:20] this is not your plan this is not your

[63:22] doing it is my plan and all I want you

[63:25] to do is follow it out and you just

[63:49] on with it and we don't have to worry

[63:52] about that it's not going to work in our

[63:53] day and age

[63:55] because the world would want you to want

[63:58] you to believe that it doesn't work

[64:00] anymore I just read this

[64:03] morning this um news article and it was

[64:08] saying a different poll and it was

[64:10] saying that the average uh people going

[64:15] to church at least one time a week at

[64:18] least maybe that's basically it was very

[64:21] Wishy Wash but it was one by the like

[64:24] rasmon or something but it's down to

[64:27] 30% you realize seven out of 10 people

[64:30] aren't going to church

[64:33] regularly seven out of 10 people it's

[64:37] really easy to get isolated in their own

[64:38] room in their own place and like

[64:40] everybody goes to church look at no no

[64:43] no no it's not it 70% and it's really

[64:46] easy to sit there look at it like well

[64:48] it's failing in our country people may

[64:51] be

[64:53] failing but God's plan is not failing

[64:56] all right people fail in their response

[64:58] to God's word when I went through the

[65:00] parable of the of the S there in the

[65:03] parable of the sore do you realize that

[65:05] the problem in the parable of the sore

[65:07] wasn't the seed the seed was fine it was

[65:10] perfect the problem was the response of

[65:12] people's heart to the seed that was

[65:14] being given to them their response to

[65:17] God's word there's no problem with that

[65:19] it was the problem of people's hearts

[65:21] people's hearts fail and people's

[65:23] reception to the truth that fail

[65:26] but God's plan in his truth it never

[65:28] fails yeah yeah so when I thinking about

[65:34] this Parable

[65:36] then I I realized coming to this coming

[65:40] to that juncture and moving us to a

[65:43] point to like I think we can almost take

[65:46] a church vote and get unanimous 100%

[65:49] agreement that God's plans do not fail

[65:53] man I can get I can get amens and

[65:54] everything else about that and like man

[65:56] it it would be really good really really

[65:59] good uh if that's all that God wanted us

[66:02] to

[66:03] see because from what I can understand

[66:06] and I don't think I'm stretching any

[66:08] application here is this did not the

[66:10] treasure have some kind of impact on the

[66:13] on the environment that it found itself

[66:15] in so I'm guessing that what God is

[66:19] trying to say to us is meant then to

[66:20] have an impact and influence on us to

[66:22] where we are at right now and so I begin

[66:26] to think about this I'm like God what

[66:27] exactly is that and sometimes I get

[66:30] inspiration at the worst worst times or

[66:33] weird times and I had looked at this a

[66:35] long time ago and about two months later

[66:36] as getting out of the shower and then

[66:38] God just like here you

[66:41] go and so when you look at this it means

[66:45] this if you were one of his disciples

[66:46] you should look at this if God's plans

[66:48] don't fail then the reality is we need

[66:52] to get to a point that we don't lose

[66:54] hope in the plan

[66:57] I mean if you consider what these

[66:58] disciples were were looking at man

[67:01] widescale rejection false teaching false

[67:04] growth you're going to have have all the

[67:08] an adversary working uh uh not just o

[67:12] overtly but covertly to destroy the work

[67:16] man you'd be say man this is pretty

[67:19] hopeless and you know what when we when

[67:21] you look around here and you see

[67:23] people's responses to the truth anymore

[67:26] you when you see people's response to

[67:28] calling that which is good evil and evil

[67:31] good in our own day and age it is easy

[67:34] to all of a sudden begin losing hope in

[67:36] this whole

[67:37] situation why are we even supporting

[67:39] missionaries do look like it's doing

[67:41] doing doing any good you know what

[67:43] that's that's the talk of a person who's

[67:44] losing

[67:45] hope why why should be we be interested

[67:48] in planting churches somebody that's Lo

[67:51] losing hope I like really need to be

[67:54] having speci meetings and handing out

[67:56] tracks and having visitation and and all

[67:58] those things I mean do you see a bunch

[68:01] of people lining up at the door you know

[68:03] what that's to talk of somebody that's

[68:05] losing hope that's that's what it what

[68:07] it's talking about and what happens is

[68:09] this is we can begin to be so focused on

[68:12] what what's going on around us that we

[68:14] allow it to discourage Us in such a way

[68:16] that affects us in our in our

[68:19] implementation and are acting upon God's

[68:21] plan right that we just like well this

[68:24] who am I

[68:26] I I am just one little itty bitty person

[68:28] what in the world can I do this is a

[68:30] hopeless situation you know when Christ

[68:33] talked to the church in Philadelphia

[68:35] there he said I I know I know you have

[68:38] little strength in other words he knew

[68:40] that they didn't have a lot of strength

[68:42] but they were doing a lot for him there

[68:44] were a church that were in a hard

[68:46] situation but never lost hope in the

[68:48] plan I'm just telling you it's real easy

[68:51] then when I look at this man as bad as

[68:53] it gets do not lose hope in it because

[68:55] when we start losing hope in the plan we

[68:57] start become discouraged and I'm telling

[68:59] you this when you start losing hope and

[69:00] you get discouraged you start drawing

[69:03] back and it's really easy to be drawn

[69:06] back in such a way you're still coming

[69:08] to church all the time but you're not

[69:09] really engaged or involved in Ministry

[69:11] any longer because Ministry is just not

[69:13] your pastor's

[69:16] responsibility just saying yeah so we

[69:20] have to be careful when we look at this

[69:22] that we don't lose so don't lose hope

[69:24] but I think what Jesus by this is also

[69:27] teaching us is this don't lose hope in

[69:29] the plan but actually do the exact

[69:31] opposite you need to lean into it just

[69:35] lean everything that you have in into

[69:40] what God's plan and God's working his

[69:42] kingdom his work in this day and age

[69:44] that we find ourselves in that you just

[69:47] wholly lean yourself into it and and

[69:50] again it shouldn't just be the guy

[69:52] that's behind the pulpit that should be

[69:53] excited about leaning into it man every

[69:56] one of us should be excited about

[69:57] leaning leaning in into it you know you

[70:00] you hear some of these people that are

[70:02] bandwagon fans like if that team always

[70:04] wins they want to jump on jump on board

[70:06] there I tell you this why don't you just

[70:09] be a bandwagon fan for Jesus Christ

[70:11] because he never loses his plan never

[70:14] fails you might as well just jump right

[70:16] onto it just lean into it I I he has not

[70:20] lost I I guarantee you can bet on it if

[70:23] we did that very thing that he's not

[70:26] going to fail and that we should just

[70:27] lean all of our energies into it yeah

[70:31] whatever resources whatever time I have

[70:34] whatever strength I have all of it I'm

[70:36] surrendering and giving it over to

[70:40] him whether it's what I can give in the

[70:42] offering the prayer list I can pray over

[70:46] whether it's me learning more of the

[70:48] scriptures whether it's me really

[70:50] getting to a point of really

[70:53] understanding the gospel and being being

[70:55] able to present it to somebody Beyond

[70:58] just a scripted

[71:00] act I I I'm talking I'm not I'm not

[71:03] opposed to just the Romans wrad if that

[71:05] helps you out but at some point in your

[71:07] spiritual life as a Believer I I firmly

[71:10] believe you should get to a point to

[71:11] understand the gospel well enough that

[71:13] you can you can Branch off that should

[71:16] just be a starting point for you yeah I

[71:19] I really believe that and we just need

[71:21] to lean into it just put everything into

[71:25] it and I think this don't lose so you'll

[71:27] lean into it and then thirdly is is this

[71:30] is you just keep looking

[71:32] forward just keep looking forward if you

[71:36] want to get your if you want to get

[71:38] yourself discouraged if you want to get

[71:40] yourself like man this isn't a hopeless

[71:41] situation just keep having this this uh

[71:44] horizontal view just keep looking in the

[71:48] immediate around you you just keep

[71:50] looking at that I'm going to tell you

[71:51] this you if you w man I hope you don't

[71:54] watch mainstream media but if you did

[71:57] that' be enough to make you want to quit

[72:00] everything I it almost make me want to

[72:02] quit coffee

[72:04] almost but it' almost make you want to

[72:06] quit

[72:07] everything but you know what let's not

[72:10] be looking around so to speak well let's

[72:13] just keep be looking

[72:15] forward because what I understand in

[72:17] this Parable there is something to look

[72:18] forward

[72:20] too right so we're not just working for

[72:23] we're not just the kingdom and working

[72:25] for Christ and serving him and doing

[72:28] what we can is not just for immediate

[72:30] impact it has a long-term vision and

[72:32] goal in mind yeah it does that we just

[72:36] need to keep looking forward not looking

[72:39] looking

[72:40] around I think Paul had it right because

[72:43] he said this I press towards the mark do

[72:47] you know what that has the idea to me

[72:49] that Paul's like man it's really bad

[72:51] around here I mean he had it pretty bad

[72:52] he got got beat up Shipwrecked and all

[72:55] sorts of other wild wild stuff and

[72:57] people are saying things about him the

[72:59] people are trying to infiltrate his

[73:01] ministry and he's said I don't care I'm

[73:03] looking forward I'm pressing on I'm just

[73:06] I keep going I mean we say I'm pressing

[73:08] on the upward way

[73:11] but I mean are we are we really pressing

[73:15] on the up upward way and see so when I

[73:18] look at this Parable that God is showing

[73:20] us the truth is emerging that God's plan

[73:23] doesn't fail and we shouldn't lose hope

[73:25] hope into it but lean into it and just

[73:26] keep looking forward now let me go back

[73:29] to my opening illustration here so we

[73:33] went through that Tuesday what a uh

[73:37] wonderful experience it was and uh so it

[73:41] got a little bit worse because where

[73:44] that cabin is you don't have any cell

[73:45] phone signal and so he had one of these

[73:48] old phones that you plug in you may be

[73:51] too young to understand we can explain

[73:52] and look up a picture for you plug in in

[73:55] it's got these buttons you push on it

[73:57] they're real buttons real buttons and

[74:00] you just push on them and uh and so I

[74:04] found one in the closet and so I plugged

[74:06] it in and it worked earlier in the day

[74:08] and then it wasn't working later on so

[74:11] like now I don't even have access to the

[74:13] outside world like we're all dying in

[74:16] here on malaria but nobody's going to

[74:17] know about it and I couldn't call

[74:20] anybody and then so I told my oldest son

[74:23] I said well you drive and it's literally

[74:26] like an hour winding through mountain

[74:28] roads to get to where you get cell

[74:30] signal so you drive out there and you

[74:32] call the owner of the cabin and see if

[74:34] he's got some ideas of what we should do

[74:36] and then um so he's gone for a while and

[74:39] then somehow the phone started working

[74:41] and so able to call that guy and talk to

[74:43] him and so my son got back and he said

[74:46] well when I was out there I saw the

[74:47] power line company um out there and uh I

[74:51] saw this one guy a truck in a meadow and

[74:53] he said you know about 8 Miles 10 miles

[74:55] from here there's nothing it's perfect

[74:57] and I said I asked him if he would be

[74:59] able to come over and pull her van out

[75:02] but he wasn't sure if he was able able

[75:04] to do that and uh and so when he got

[75:07] back he told me all those things so van

[75:09] still stuck power still off we have no

[75:12] idea when it's going to come on and and

[75:15] this literally happened at 8 o00 both of

[75:18] those things were taken care of all at

[75:20] the same time that the power came on and

[75:24] the another guy came came and pull her

[75:25] truck out and God had to remind me he

[75:29] said you had fussed and and uh fight all

[75:34] day long you guys weren't getting along

[75:36] very well and he said I was in control

[75:39] the whole

[75:41] time and when I begin to re realize that

[75:44] my plans fail but God was never out of

[75:47] control in the

[75:49] situation it can fall apart all around

[75:52] me but God is still in absolute

[75:55] control and when I begin to realize that

[75:58] in my life then I can understand that

[76:00] God's plans don't fail and when they

[76:02] don't fail then I'm going to give myself

[76:04] into it I'm going to quit making excuses

[76:06] and quit feeling hopeless like I can't

[76:07] do anything for Christ I'm going to give

[76:09] myself to him whether I Surrender myself

[76:11] to full-time service whether I give more

[76:14] whether I witness more whether I learn

[76:16] more God I'm just going to give myself

[76:18] more into it I'm not going to Lo lose

[76:20] hope in all of this I'm going to give

[76:21] everything I have to it and just keep

[76:23] pressing on and keep looking forward and

[76:26] I think that's exactly what God would

[76:27] want us to learn from this text tonight

[76:58] in all of our Lives God that you'd use

[77:00] it in my life for church planning and

[77:02] Mission work but God that you would use

[77:05] it in this Church's life in the

[77:07] individuals that are here God to see the

[77:10] fact the matter though the culture and

[77:12] the climate around us are in a state of

[77:14] degradation a state of decline God but

[77:17] what it isn't in a decline is your plan

[77:20] and your purpose and God that we should

[77:23] just buy into it God don't lose hope but

[77:26] lean into it and just keep pressing on

[79:28] and my God we could say it this way

[79:32] morning when you're disqui and you're

[79:35] discouraged hope thou in God in the

[79:50] tomorrow when the Devil comes and he

[83:17] we're driving right by he prayed for the

[83:19] teachers and all that stuff is we were

[83:21] driving by I thought it'd be better for

[83:22] the passenger to pray instead of the

[83:26] driver cuz if I Clos my eyes to start

[83:28] praying he'd start praying real fast too

[83:31] Lord please help my dad not wreck the

[83:32] car and so but I encourage you as we

[83:35] mentioned on Wednesday pray for the

[83:37] school teachers and if God brings your

[83:39] path by a school stop and pray for the

[83:42] teachers of that

[83:45] school on purpose there's a great

[83:48] opportunity to share the light of the

[83:50] Glorious gospel in the public school

[83:52] system so you pray and pray pray say

[83:55] well it's getting real bad God's still

[83:56] on the throne it's not over till he says

[84:00] it's over and so until he comes back let

[84:03] us always be lifting up Christ yes

[84:50] in Indiana and the last time Scott in

[84:54] the top four in the world competition

[84:57] and so there's an opportunity there so

[84:58] you pray for safety for them as they

[85:01] travel that's my brother-in-law

[85:03] sister-in-law and one of my nephews

[85:05] Jacob so pray for them uh Miss

[85:07] Jennifer's sister Becca so pray for them

[85:10] as they travel flying over to China to

[85:13] compete all right and so thankful for

[85:15] what God's doing a couple of

[85:17] announcement reminders ladies August

[85:19] 31st there is a baby shower for Tabitha

[85:23] Franklin and so they're having a little

[85:25] girl and so I mentioned in Sunday school

[85:28] they have little boy clothes but they

[85:30] don't have little girl clothes and so we

[85:32] want her to have some little girl

[85:34] clothes and so she has registered at

[86:23] they're not even saved

[86:35] church that have extended family coming

[86:37] for baptism let's pray for them as well
