[0:00] in this video i'm going to show you how
[0:02] i turn
[0:03] an outline which i've created out of
[0:06] highlights from a book that i read
[0:09] into a written summary of that book
[0:12] so basically i have an outline of all
[0:14] the main points and supporting points
[0:16] that i
[0:17] think are necessary to understand what a
[0:18] book is saying but an outline
[0:21] is of limited value right people can't
[0:23] really make sense of an outline it's too
[0:25] sparse there's not enough
[0:26] kind of explanation it's not easy to
[0:29] digest
[0:30] so what i'm going to do now is open the
[0:33] outline on one side and then a new
[0:34] document on the other side
[0:36] and just translate the sequence of
[0:39] logic the sequence of arguments from a
[0:42] hierarchical outline
[0:44] into into writing into into paragraphs
[0:47] so let's take a look at what this looks
[0:49] like
[0:50] so here's where we left off with the the
[0:53] first
[0:54] pass and an outline which we created out
[0:58] of this note
[0:59] which was the exported highlights from
[1:01] the original ebook
[1:03] so at this point i can just set aside
[1:05] the exported highlights and focus
[1:07] completely on the outline that i've
[1:09] created
[1:10] this really based on the previous steps
[1:13] that i showed you
[1:14] contains everything that i want to
[1:16] include in my
[1:18] in my post at least all the main points
[1:21] so i'm going to start first by doing
[1:24] some cleanup
[1:26] this was really kind of a first draft of
[1:28] an outline and there's probably some
[1:30] uh improvement that can be made before i
[1:32] actually start writing
[1:34] and i like to do this not as part of the
[1:36] outlining but as part of writing because
[1:39] the cleaning up and the kind of little
[1:42] kind of reorganizing that
