[0:02] This is a light armored reconnaissance
[0:04] battalion. Its main task in any conflict
[0:07] is to roam far ahead of the main battle
[0:10] group. It seeks out the enemy. It
[0:12] engages the enemy. It draws it out, if
[0:14] you will, so that the follow-on forces
[0:16] can can wrap up that particular unit,
[0:18] and then this unit will leapfrog ahead
[0:20] again to try to draw the next one. We're
[0:23] right now in the middle of the so-called
[0:25] no-man's-land between Iraq and Kuwait
[0:27] that has existed since the 1991 Gulf
[0:30] War. What you're looking at now is the
[0:31] electric fence uh that separates uh the
[0:34] two countries. Uh from there, it's
[0:36] another uh 2 km to the uh the Iraqi
[0:39] border. So, the enemy lies just on the
[0:43] other side of that fence.

[0:48] expect. It is hoping that the
[0:50] bombardments uh that the uh enemy uh
[0:53] underwent uh during the course of the
[0:56] night and and through part of yesterday
[0:57] will have been demoralized into the
[0:59] point where it would just basically give
[1:02] up. There's a There's a couple of main
[1:04] regular army divisions, the 18th
[1:06] division, the 51st division. The United
[1:08] States has done a lot of intelligence on
[1:10] on these particular units, and they
[1:11] believe that given the opportunity and
[1:14] an overwhelming show of force by the
[1:16] United States that these two divisions
[1:18] would probably rather choose to not
[1:20] fight than to fight. But, judging by the
[1:23] bombardment that we witnessed all night
[1:24] here, as you take a look at the end of
[1:25] the column that's following us on here,
[1:27] judging by the bombardment that we saw
[1:29] taking place all nigh
