[0:00] Good night.

[0:27] The aviation security bill becomes law.

[0:29] It will not be in effect until well

[0:31] after Thanksgiving and Christmas. We'll

[0:34] take a closer look tonight at the

[0:36] special forces in Afghanistan.

[0:38] And we have been listening to Dallas.

[0:41] Very proud and moving on.

[0:46] From ABC News, this is World News

[0:50] Tonight with Peter Jennings reporting

[0:52] from Texas.

[0:54] Good evening from Dallas. Our third and

[0:56] last stop on a brief listening tour in

[0:58] the West and Southwest. At the end of

[1:00] the broadcast, we'll hear what Dallas

[1:02] Fort Worth has to say about the Afghan

[1:03] campaign, the war against terrorism, and

[1:06] life in general. The focus in

[1:08] Afghanistan today is even tighter than

[1:10] it was over the weekend. the fight with

[1:12] the Taliban from the northern city of

[1:13] Kundus, the response in Kabell to the

[1:18] Afghans and the search for Osama bin

[1:21] Laden. The question everywhere,

[1:23] certainly here in Texas, is where is he?

[1:26] Is he still in the country? And if he is

[1:28] still in the country, as Washington

[1:30] says, how hot is the trail and how much

[1:33] room does he have to maneuver? We're

[1:35] going to start with John McCarthy at the

[1:37] Pentagon. John, I know that the big

[1:40] issue today is money. Money, Peter.

[1:42] Intelligence sources are telling us that

[1:45] the CIA is now spending and handing out

[1:48] hundreds of thousands of dollars. What

[1:50] they're looking for is not only

[1:52] information about Osama bin Laden, but

[1:54] they're also trying to encourage Afghans

[1:57] to go hunt for Bin Laden themselves in

[1:59] the treacherous caves and tunnels where

[2:01] he's believed
