[0:04] From ABC, this is World News Tonight
[0:07] with Peter Jennings in London. Max
[0:09] Robinson in Chicago. Barbara Walters
[0:11] with a political insiders report. And
[0:14] from our desk in Washington, Frank
[0:16] Reynolds.
[0:17] >> Good evening. On day 107 of captivity
[0:20] for American hostages in Tehran, there
[0:22] seems to be a basic agreement between
[0:24] Iran and the United States on the
[0:26] process by which the hostages will
[0:28] eventually be released. However, some
[0:31] technical details, as they are called,
[0:33] still make it impossible for the United

[0:54] composition of the fiveman panel. The
[0:57] spokesman predicts the formal
[0:58] announcement will come within 24 hours,
[1:01] but that's what the UN has been saying
[1:02] since last week, and it's obvious there
[1:04] are still details to be worked out. As
[1:07] we have indicated yesterday, there are
[1:10] some purely technical aspects
[1:13] to be clarified. There are no political
[1:16] aspects.
[1:18] >> The spokesman did not specify what
[1:19] aspects, but one of them centers around
[1:21] the fact that several countries
[1:23] represented on the commission are
[1:24] annoyed they were not consulted by the
[1:26] UN beforehand. There are also reports
[1:28] that Algeria at one point threatened to
[1:31] pull out because it was worried that the
[1:33] commission's work would no
